This is a 3rd-day hairstyle on my daughter, after she used a high twisty bun on Day 1, took it out and left subtle curls with a pullback on top for Day 2, and this ponytail style on Day 3.
My girls and I have been wearing this ponytail hairstyle for some time now, in fact, I Instagrammed a photo of me wearing this style when I was in LA a few weeks ago. / mindymcknight {Instagram}

This easy ponytail incorporates a pullback {pompadour} on top and French braided side sections brought up with the remaining hair into a high pony. I then take a small strand of hair from the ponytail and wrap it around the elastic band.
You will find that this is a super cute ponytail hairstyle that is sure to get you compliments, and is perfect for cheer, gymnastics, other sports, or simply to wear around any day!

Items Needed: Brush, rat-tail comb, spray bottle, 1 large hair elastic, 3-4 bobby pins, hairspray and accessory {if desired}.

Hi Mindy. I absolutely love your videos. I actually go through them with my 7 yr old daughter and "shop" for hairstyles when she has something special coming up. I've done this hairstyle on her but I place the twin frenchbraids along her center part to keep her flyaways in check, and then include the braids in her high pony. Her soccer teammates love it!

I think that for sports this actually works better then a plain ponytail (which always slides done and falls). the braids help give it more structure. I even occasionally used to do three braids (one on top too instead of a puff). those hold up great for sports.
I have to agree. I do the same thing, especially since I play soccer, running around for 90 minutes and a ponytail that falls constantly don't go over well
