I think people assume that just because a chocolate cake has red food color in it, it's supposed to taste like a red velvet cake but the only thing that makes the cake different its the cream cheese frosting because it's just a chocolate cake with red food color that has cream cheese frosting on the donut or the cake that gives it that signature taste because they're is no such thing as a red velvet taste because it's just a chocolate cake with red food coloring and cream cheese frosting
