Wow , Sir , I Can't Believe on my Eyes that It makes you Emotional , That Their is Not Any Student on the Class ..... *You Love to Teach , You Love MIT , You Love Students , You Love to show Experiments , You Love Everything* , *This Will make my Eyes with full Water* , Sir , *No-one On this World be Like you* 😘😘
your lecture are making my mind to be a physicist not a mechanical engineer . even though i am second year student of mechanical engineering . i cant describe in words the way you taught . whenever my classmates hey buddy i do not understand today's physics lecture . i smile and i say dont worry i am gonna tell you something(your lectures) that will make you master of physics .thank you so much for all this GOLD stuff
Walter Lewin is one of the most inspiring scientific communicators in the world. He captivates the audience like no one i've ever seen. And it really moves me when he gets all emotional... He's so awesome! I love every lecture he gave, he made me love physics being kilometers away... I cannot express the gratitude I feel for this man. I'm really dissapointed with the interviewer... It seems that he's really not really grasping the emotional content, and the deep thinking that Walter can deliver. A poor job from the interviewer in my opinion. Walter Lewin rules in several orders of magnitude!
So beautiful to see his love and understanding for the greatness of America. More than any other nation we judge people solely on merit. Upbringing, religion, color, quirkiness don't matter, only what you do and accomplish.
Salute from the very depth of my heart professor! You are right - "you are an artist". We need few more like you to make this world in one thread. To bring in that single understanding of sharing, helping others and be extremely grateful of doing this very act of helping others. Unfortunately I saw new that stupid MIT has removed your lectures with sexual harassment blames. We all need to ask MIT OCW that how the hell is this blame related to his art work?? Even if this blame is proven, how dare they remove professor Lewin's lectures? What is wrong in lectures which were immensely helping whole world?? Please think twice with leftover intelligence!
I have a physics teacher like him, but of course we don't have the resource he had. I'm yet to tell this teacher he is like Walter Lewin. I hope he understands what I mean.
7:50 is Amazing..Awesome.. Unbelievable..Adorable... ∞ , *You Think This is your House* ❤❤😘😘 , *Sir , I Don't have Words to say about it....... Sir , You are My God till my Last Breathings- I always try to be Like you*
At the same time I feel it was inappropriate for them to film this in front of the professor who just retired after 14 years. They should've given him the time to reflect in the quiet of the lecture room on what he had just completed. It seemed selfish for Walter to in some ways steal that moment from him.
Sir, jus a small request. if possible.....can u please come to India for lectures. Sir I thoroughly understand ur schedule, ur age nd maybe health issues ( just assuming). But please sir......just in case ur okay with it or if u find time, please try to make it. Pleaseeee.
good bye sir ...... I'm jus a school student who is wishing to listen to atkeast one lecture of yours . it was jus a desire sir . and I do understand a trip to India will prove to be very expensive for you . it would be great for a couple or more universities to sponsor your trip . otherwise ....... it's totally fine . but still ...... would love to listen to your lectures . and take care of your health sir .
No, Dutch are rather direct and tell what they think and feedback can be shockingly honest. And that's exactly what happened. So for me, as a Dutch this interview/documentary is a normal way of expressing one's thoughts... and has nothing to do with distancing from the Netherlands. He's rather straight: the climate at Dutch Universities in sixties didn't provide him the opportunities he has gotten in the US (in which Mr. Lewin is right imho).
Its so sad to see ppl like him less appreciated at home than in a foreign country. There are many stories like this of Europeans leaving for the US to find recognition. The stiff thinking of the village mentality, neanderthals in Europe, throughout history have caused great talent to leave & develop the US into what it is today. Then they defend themselves, saying that we don't want a cultural invasion of Europe. Well do you even have a viable culture in eu? Its been stuck in the mid-evil era with its ignorance & racism till today. A cow that eats the same food every day can never know anything else.
Are you seriously saying Europe is more racist than the US? In the US there are more school shootings in a week than in a year in Europe because of the racist indoctrination over there. They literally kill each other over the fact that they have a different skin color. Maybe the reason why people feel the need to go to the US is the need for attention. A person like Leonardo da Vinci or Newton didn’t seek recognition, they were focusing on achieving the things they thought mattered. If Europe is as bad as you are trying to frame it, why are the people who achieve great things often Europeans? This man decided to leave the Netherlands at a relatively young age for a professor. Does he need to be called the greatest man on earth in his 20’s? He is an example of a great professor and people should be happy that he is willing to share his lectures with the rest of the world instead of criticizing the foundation that made him the person he is.
+mousehead2000 You don't really know him nor attended one of his lectures I'm assuming. Don't jump the gun, the man knows how to teach and he has a emotional connection to his lecture hall, his students, his teaching, and his love of physics. He teaches differently, and with care towards understanding rather than simple wrote memorization. He wants you to understand and appreciate physics, and teachers who take their time. He is by far more qualified and superb in his articulation style then any teacher I know--this makes me love his lectures. His 50 years of attachment to the halls, and teaching at MIT gives him some room to boast, its natural, but he doesn't brag about it he simple expresses his love for the place after so many years. Try looking at things a bit more introspectively before making that statement. With all due respect.
Every student should have 1 teacher like that. I wish I would have.
I had a math teacher like him in high school :)
This guy actually answered my question in comments. True teacher.
Don't call him a guy he is a God!!!!!!
The Greatest & Most Dynamic Physics teaching Personality In The World !!!!!!!!!

I have been a (psychology) university professor for 40 years and I cannot tell you how much I admire Dr. Lewin's lectures. He is simply amazing.

His passion is just amazing.
This guy is basically, Prof. Dumbledore for muggles.
But Dumbledore was an ignorant jerk, unlike professor Walter Lewin!!!
Our Physics Professor-- An all time great!!

Physics works and we are still alive.
I see myself in the audience at 3:29. This was spring 2012 in Room 26-101.

Lewin doesn't really like this guy! He seems keen to distance himself from the Netherlands.

A lovely European Jewish personality!
He is not Jewish! His father was Jewish, but his mother was not. So he's not!
@@jabrown You are right, but I stress his personality-mentality, not his actual DNA.

Seems quite the egotist. I can see why they set him up to take a fall.
+mousehead2000 If that's true, I think he entitled given the time and energy that he puts into his work.
Richard Gray Yes. He is definitely entitled and qualified to be an egotist.

Fahim Zahir My comment was no reflection on him being a teacher. I think he's a wonderful teacher.
yeah but he has a problem with his endorphins, so he gets sometimse very excited. That's why his head shakes
