When I first heard this song I knew the lyrics were dark and about mental health and stuff but I didn’t know the lyrics were actually a bit more light hearted as well

That's the point of the song - the Menhera aesthetic itself is a way to criticize the Japanese way of making everything cute. Menhera aesthetic is making mental illness, suicide and self harm cute, as a way to protest againt the status quo of mental illness being a Taboo subject in Japan.
Edit: Its similar to how Hey Ya by Outkast is a happy song about a loveless relationship. Andre 300 sings about how they pretend they're in love when they actually don't feel that way, which perfectly fits the song because at first it seems happy when actually it's gloomy.
