yea my mom says that when my dog eats her food.
OYOYOYOYOYOYOYOY and i say that that when my soda gets on my laptop.
DONT JUDGE ME I AM RUSSIAN!
I think a hurma is the same thing as a persimmon. If it is you can find those here it's just called a persimmon here.
yep, that's the same thing! also known as kaki :)
Gosh, I looooovvvee persimmons
I think we call it a Sharon fruit more commonly in England :)
MissCherielicious we call it kaka lol
In Sweden we call them
Sharon! Really sweet and mild at the same time
where is the pilmeni and chubereki and borsch!? you missed out all the awesome russian food !
YES! I live for pelmeni lol
+Lady Sparkles for your information, chebureki and borsch are ukrainian dishes, they are very little spread on the territory of russia
+Helgigi B for your information chebureki (çig-börek) is a crimean tatar/turkic speciality, not Ukrainian per se. Borsch is super widely spread on the whole ex USSR territory, as far as I know.
We love pelmeņi in Latvia, too!
pilmeni 🙏🙏
Hahaha! Ili manku:)
TOOmuchcandy Makaroni s sasiskoi!

***** ebenso haha
Why did you say pomidora? It's pamidor
a lot of people name it "pomidora", it`s a colloquial variant...
+Констанция +++
i found that really weird as well...
karinagothiclolita I always say pomidora
I feel like this video is only funny for us Russians cause we're the only ones who understand why it's funny ahaha love you, Evelina (: xx
Not only for Russians in Lithuania we have that food too ^^
also in Poland
OoOUgnėOoO Power In Poland we have it as well :). I looove gołąbki with tomato sauce (no idea why Joey didn't like it!), but I'm quite surprised that he didn't know what's halva, I thought they had it in USA?
In Poland as well :D
I'm Lithuanian (and also Russian) :)
Evelina you look so pretty with the hat!
lol joey " here in america that is not a salad"
:D
Is it called pomidora? I am from Kazakhstan and many people speak Russian. We say ' Pomidor' or ' Tomat '
Whoaa im from indonesia and we also called it tomat ^^
Altynai Amangeldy she lived in Moldova. So her Russian sounds a little different
Altynai Amangeldy pomidorka! \o/
Oh hey! I live in Kazakhstan too c:
the thing you call hurma exists in italy too, it's called kaki :D
MedusaMel it's all over the world. They grow in Greece, Turkey, Spain, Georgia, Armenia, China, Japan, Brazil even. Different sub-species of the same fruit. All different in size, color, texture, taste.
***** I do please please please *-*
ahahahahah in italian cacca means poo! it's a bit similar! kaki could mean also "You poop" lol
+HaohmaruHL it's called kaki in arabic too!
Yep definitely in Polish is called kaki
When the dog put his paw on Joey's shoulder
aahah, same here! It's like: "C'mon buddy, gimme some of that! C'mon, we're friends, paaaal" :) Adorable dog!
Have you guys seen Joey and me explore downtown LA yet?! bit.ly/evelina-daycation

The second food item is called Persimmon!
Ya obazhayu olivya ya fsegda eyo yem yum!
Evelina ....the ''olivie'' in spanish is called ''ensaladilla rusa'' russian salad jajaj so coool

You mean "Селедка под шубой"
Agreed im russian too i love that salad
haha yeah my b
haha lol I was hoping she would have that.
All my American friends love Russian food, except of kvas and okroshka, haha)))
Anyway, it`s better than hamburgers)
But, to be honest, you should give him to try borsch soup, solyanka and herring under the furcoat, may be bliny and our pies. It`s more Russian) And of course, kurnik. It`s awesome!)
kvas is sooo good, it's not as good as before though
every Christmas Eve my polish grandma serves borshe soup except I don't like the beet soup I just eat the dumpling-like things inside (I forget the name but it starts with an "o").
I didn`t know that Polish people know about borsch))
And we don`t put any dumplings in it.
Darya Shestakova In lithuania we also have borsch soup.. actually we eat almost the same foods as russians
Ruta Nameless I think it's because you were the part of Soviet Union)

Im from Estonia but we also all eat these things here in Estonia .
Do you also speak Russian ?
Yes, my mom is half Russian and dad Estonian and all my grandmas are Russians so we NEED to know Russian Language 😀😀 Nutinfancy9mm
+Janett Juuse We also have them in Serbia.
I'm also from Estonia :)

We have it in Austria too we call it " Kaka"
In Japan we call it Kaki! :)
Aw spasibo bolishoe za teplie slova
Evelina
+Anna Kleshman
GMByte Java
LOVE this collab, you two are one of my favorites:)
The fruit looks a lot like persimmon! Maybe it's some kind of variation?
It actually IS a persimmon :D
That's what I thought too
Ameena Abubakar Then it shouldn't be that hard to find! They are often in Asian grocery stores!
it´s really not hard to find. In Germany you can find it in every shop in the winter.
yeah in austria we call it 'kaki' and they sell it during the winter time
The way wolf was trying to get in the middle of them and putting his paw on their shoulders, so cuteeeee, I just want to hug him and cuddle him
AWW!! That puppy at 7:50 tho!!! SO CUTE
Have you heard of expressions like citizenship and nationality? You could have a Moldovian citizenship but you'd still be Russian :)
nah, I actually live in the woods... but now, thanks to you, I know what a citizenship is
Ivan Terkin
Ivan Terkin
Ivan Terkin
Better eat Golubtsi with sour crem
YASSSS
Better food
Your dog is the most precious thing in the world! Soooo adorable!!!
Haha, you made my day=)

5:56 in Croatia we call it french salad! it's sooo good (:
jes! :D francuska-najbolji dio božića
slažem se u potpunosti! (:
Golubtsi with sour cream 👌🏻
Also halva and hurma are so freaking good 😍
Spasibo:)
I've had most of this food and I'm polish. Russians and polish people must eat similar foods haha
Same
Nicole Olive all Slavic cuisine together are very similar. very similar to the borsch I tried in Bulgaria and Hungary, but the name is different. before the opening of tomatoes and beans, it was cooked peas and mushrooms
was like a mushroom and pea soup.
Nicole Olive And romanian to :))
Nicole Olive Latvia has this food as well
Nicole Olive The only food I recognised was the hulva. I'm Armenian and I thought it was more like an Arabic/Lebanese food coz we buy hulva from Lebanese shops lol.
Hanuta is German hahahha i live in Germany and it is a German Brand
+Conny19.12 im german to can you speak german to
+Conny19.12 germany is so close bye russia
Joey's reactions is everything😂
URA!!!
1:02 joeys all excited like oh okay thats sounds good, she pulls the food out joeys like ohhh never mind lol
Funny! Interesting. LOVE that puppy!!
Golubtsi or Sarmale in Romanian is something you can find in Turkey, Greece and even Iran...Not Russian
aaand halva is literally from everywhere. Even arabic countries have it...
Wow. These people. Did she say these are only russian foods? No. Case closed. :)
Wiki will help you. This dish is Russian too
In Bosnia, we call it Sarma, and it tastes soo good, and we also eat almost all of this, and it's yummy, I just don't like halva xoxo :)
I'd like to see Joey's reaction on "shchi", "okroshka", "seledka pod shuboy" or "kholodets" or some other really weird dishes we have in Russia, i think it was nice of Evelina to offer him kinda neutral food =) Actually we have "halva" in Russia but it doesn't have Russian origin, it's an Eastern desert (btw i've never had it with bread and butter lol))). And "hurma" is more southern fruit i guess. They import it from Azerbaijan, Armenia and so on but we eat it in Russia a lot during winter time so that's ok. What was the last thing? It is something we call "vafli s shokoladnoj nachinkoj"?
schi is the best! :D (don't know how to spell it in english haha)
Ursiii i definitely agree with u!)) i like shchi but for Americans it could be disgusting :D not for everyone maybe but for the most part)
Great videos. Persimmon tree in my yard here in the Southern US. MAkes good wine too.
i enjoyed this video i love foreign food. your puppy is the cutest
Polish food is the same, yummy! :D
He didn't try golubtsi (pl. gołąbki)....they are the best! :(
I'm Polish but OMG Russian deli food=DIVINE
I had a hurma today and now i am crawing for another one hahaha my favv
This hurma fruit is also available in switzerland and I love it too😍❤️
By the way, Pomidor, not pomidora
Hurma for us is named "KAKA" hahahah ik....
Omg in Latvian "kaka" means shit
In Poland it's "Kaki":)
It's Kaki in Croatia :) and it's soooo good
Roksana Smola In Czech Kaki too:)
In Spain we call it kaki and it's the best by far
Loved it!!
Omg. I consume every single thing you mentioned in this video. The Russian salad is a staple during holiday dinners, so is the halva! & the hanuta wafer bars are better in the red packaging!
Ugghhh I'm craving Oliv'ye so bad
Isn't halwa a turkish sweet? At least, in my country (Algeria) we call it "turkish candy". Do Russians make it with sesame paste and pistachio too? @@@@grabbing some from my kitchen just for science... Lol
no, turkish sweet is different.) Halva comes only in one variation. Well, take that back. There is also a cocoa one. But it's nothing like it)
I just gogled it. The halva consumed in Russia is the turkish one. So i'm not sure about what you mean. From the look of it and the texture as they were eating it in the video, it looked pretty similar too. What do you mean by turkish sweet? Plus, halva or halwa means sweets or candy in arabic. I highly doubt, Russians would use the arabic word if it wasn't the same thing.
ithry18 well, maybe I tried some other sweets than.. I was in Turkey and the "turkish sweet" that we ate was totally different..
Yes, it is a turkish sweet. I think, Evelina just chose foods, which are popular in Russia and Eastern Europe, not necessarily they were invented here :)
You find Halva in Eastern Europe and Russia mostly made from sunflower seeds but the "oriental" one is made with sesame seeds. I think this is because which sort of seeds is more common in the region.
Wolfe warms my heart😃😃😃❤️❤️❤️
Awww what a sweet doggy 😍
IM CRYING. I LOVE U TWO
Your picture haha
As a Ukrainian, I have and do eat all of these. Loved the video
Because the food comes to all the ex-Soviet countries :)
I would rather say to all slavic countries
***** yeah, you're right
Madeline White same story bro! In America Russians and ukraniane are the same lol
Love this video, see this over 10000 times:)
I love her voice so much!
Puppy is stealing the show!
joey's face is precious) loved this video)))
I love her so much omg
In Switzerland we've got hurma (kaki) and hanuta (the waffle) too ! :) Really made me hungry watching this ^^
This was fun to watch! :-)
The halva looks tasty, I love sunflower seeds
I AM RUSSIAN
I REPEAT I AM RUSSIAN
THIS FOOD IS SO GOOD
I AM REALLY HAPPY THEY MADE THIS VIDEO
Hurma is called Kaki in the Netherlands. I don't really think it's really Russian bc you can buy it in the Netherlands everywhere
Here in Oklahoma people say that persimmons come from here=)
This video is from 2014, yet I am seeing it -- and Evelina -- for the first time. OMG, where have you been all my life, Evelina? You are the cutest creature on the planet! If your hair, makeup, wardrobe, and accent are for real, like they are in this video, you have a new #1 fan: Me.
I love olive how ever you spell it. It is delicious!
I'm iranian , but I don't live in Iran, but in Iran we have Halva, which is served at breakfast, and Olivie mostly known as olivie salad, sorta alike :)
As for me, I like Halva made from sesame
gooood i get so hungry watching this. the food is the thing i love most about my culture.
joeys dog is soooo adorable!!!!
That dog was so adorable)))
Yummy!!! I love golubtsi!!
Halva is a very common sweet in the Middle East!!
Merican and eng. food are VEEERYY weird, I can't eat anything what they eat without a stomach ache.. strange nations..
I like borsch!
+Anton Rebrov Yeaaahh!!!!Borsch
+Anton Rebrov With garlic and back bread : DDD and sala
This is SO COOL !
I literally knew nothing about any of these foods before watching this video.
We mainly review really weird Hong Kong foods and snacks like Stinky Tofu & Wasabi Kit Kat, but now I'm thinking we should do an international episode!
They have this in Latvia too i live in it oviossley. I love halva its just so good and the hurma perfect
No pomidora , pomidor!
Persimmon ;)))
Omg all of my favorite foods!!!!
I'm partly of german descent, and whenever we go to my grandmother's house we have a variation golubtsi! It appears to be the exact same thing except we put sauerkraut in it also and call them roly-polys! I love it when you can find commonalities between cultures!
My mom is making vinegret for Christmas.
Halva isn't Russian at all.. Man.. That Olivie salad is terribly full of majo there shouldn't be that much in it! Venegret is served whenever you like not only on special occasions - that'd be stupid!
And what's so terrible about that meat and rice wrapped in cabbage leave?
P.S. Moldova isn't Russia..
chestia aia uriasa e o sarma?
Cris Andrei da XD
It's food of USSR. That's all
Not really, it's food that maybe over half of Europe enjoys and finds very common (some of it not even having it's origins in Europe).
Her dad is Russian and her mom is from Moldova. She has lived in both countries.
We have all these foods in Romania! I love it all!
We have all these things in Brazil! Except for the halva, but we have similar sweet made of peanuts.
I love hurma we have that in Lithuania; ) we also have those tomatoes but I don't like them, also we have golupci we calling them ,,balandeliai,, I love them what can I say Russian and Lithuania have the same food and it's amazing ♡♡♡ luv ya ^^
arabs and turks eat halva too. arabs call it halawa and they have the cabbage thing too called dolma
+sarah mosely in Bulgaria we eat halva too (хълва) and have the cabbage thing too (сърми)
yummmmy
+sarah mosely Dont they use grape leafs for dolma? When i was in turkey they had dolma and they used goat meat i think and grape leafs (because theyre big). Though making of "cabbage thing" (lol ) and dolma are exactly same :DD
Turks steal everything from culture to food lol blame it on the osmans
Nastia no... they use eggplant and cabbage and grapeleaves too but not goat meat inside of it
I love your dog!!!! So cute
All these foods are widely available in big city areas. I grew up in New York, my father was Polish and my mother was Swedish. We always had a variety of foods in our grocery stores along with tons of select stores for foods of many different countries. I think this was fun to introduce people to and Joey is a cutie anyways.
