- The true test of a democracy lies in continuous, free and unbiased elections and transfer of power in a smooth fashion. India has till now witnessed 16 general elections since 1952. and came out with flying colours. The elections are conducted by the Election Commission of India which was established under Article 324. This special report interweaves the narrative of these 16 elections and their outcomes.
