People of all races are being taxed out of their homes because the states they live in have spending problems. Most states now are taxing homeowners, not what they bought their homes for, but on the market value. In other words, on money you don't have. But the taxes are determined equally for all properties.

there are also some taxes that are not levied but indirectly experienced: mortgage interest and property taxes are deductible if you are a homeowner, though one could argue that is true only if you itemize, but that means that anyone paying more than $24k in property taxes and/or mortgage interest gets a break, whereas renters, and small homeowners, both categories of which are predominantly minorities, do not get to avail this benefit.
level the playing field with the simplest of simple fixes: remove all mortgage interest and property tax deductions. or cap them at the standard deduction. that is one minor fix to address the lopsided taxation code.
wanna go a step further? levy a road tax based on vehicle tonnage and value, and not through the purchase of gas. more expensive, and heavier vehicles like oversized SUVs, and big electric vehicles are the bailiwick of the rich but the disproportionately use the infrastructure paid for by the common person.

Buy assets, start/own and operate at least small businesses. Use tax advantages, pay taxes, pay bills (on time) invest in the family and invest back into assets 🤷🏿 Teach our children and family, pass on assets to our kids after they have learned the important lessons..
The answer is nothing, just like we're not doing anything to stop the police or people like George Zimmerman.

Simple goals for 99% of kids from black American families...
"double up on jobs and ideally only buy assets", within a long-term investment strategy
Marriage and babies with someone similar
No debt. Only buy what's affordable. Move to a city and State where it's easiest to do this.

Did you know that the promise of 40 acres and a mule was made by a general who had no authority, BUT that black people have been allowed to homestead on land for free since they were freed? Even today more than half the states offer homesteading.
