Thanks for the content, I'm finding this very useful! I think those connectors are called JST.

Totally unrelated comment for the video. Have a question about ClearPath servos. I'm looking into a WorkBee CNC 1500x1500 build with a water cooler 2.2kW spindle. Is it worth moving to a very high torque NEMA 34 motor for the Z axis to ensure proper functionality? Looking at the CPM-SDSK-3441S-ELN servo. I will also be running two IPC-5 units to ensure proper power handling for higher torque servos.

Do you still have the burnt controller? I fried the relay and the pcb fuse next to it. However, I can not read what size the fuse is to replace it. Hoping someone could tell me what size it is? Please!

Apologies if you mentioned this.. about how much did you spend on the CNC conversion? Thanks

Franco did you get that encoder on Ebay?
I was wondering how well it works. hope you post after mounting it on the machine and testing it.
please keep me in the loop on it.
    Thanks.

Hey Franco: PM-728. I just purchased the PM-728. Who are you getting your ball screw kits from. I wanted to machine my own but I can't get prints on the as built 728. PM wont have kits for a while and I would like to get started. RonL

Franco how do you plan on hooking up the spindle encoder for actual rpm reading for the ACORN settings

JST-XH connector, common on RC lipo batteries. There are other sizes of JST.

I'm mounting an identical encoder on my near-identical mill. I've bored out a little GT2 timing belt pulley to fit over the drawbar retention nut and have made a plate to hold the encoder and its matching pulley in tension. TLDR a similar solution to yours but with synchronous belts (the GT2 stuff is dirt cheap and widely available because of its popularity in 3D printers)

Nice. Maybe you can share your design for the encoder mount?

This is a PWM to 0 To 10 volts converter and it can be wired in to replace the Potentiometer if their is a DC voltage lower than 12 volts across the Potentiometer's wiper and ground. It has the relays for the reverse and forward directions. Read the page 10 for how to do this.www.cnc4pc.com/pub/media/productattachments/files/c41s-r1.1_user_manual_v1.pdf

Could you just use a TTL Digital chip to Potentiometer control circuit? Using the 5 volts PWM signal from the breakout board to control the Potentiometer circuit on the control board in the mill. Check this out. www.learningaboutelectronics.com/Articles/MCP4131-digital-potentiometer-circuit.php
