Super-Wolf was Jackson, Tennessee's rap legend back in the 1980's. Super-Wolf had one of the first hits in rap history with this regional favorite "Super-Wolf Can Do It".
James "Super" Wolf released "Super-Wolf Can Do It" in 1980 on Sugarhill Records, which was owned by Joe & Sylvia ("Pillow Talk," "Love Is Strange") Robinson. Sugarhill Records was the label that gave the world The Sugarhill Gang, Grandmaster Flash and other old school rap luminaries. The "Super-Wolf" track is produced by R & B legend Miss Denise LaSalle, who can be heard on the background vocals.
Was this the flipside to Sugarhill gang rappers delight? That’s how I remember but I could be 100% completely wrong but I swear when we had the 45 of rappers delight and you would flip it over it was super wolf, right?
I remember howling to the radio station (kix96) and singing "Sup-per WOoolf, CAN DOoo it." Then getting in on his ROLLLLL CALL. Those were the good ole days.
i knew this kat back in the 70s james wolfe.. he dominated jackson radio brought many of the shows to town ran a supperclub and married deniece laselle he was the man...

This is a B-Side on a SugarHill artist compilation record that I've had since it came out...The A side was the long and short version of Rapper's Delight. His story is pretty cool. He later became a mayor.
