An older guy I work with (45yrs old) grew up out in L.A, and he told me about an innocent friend of his that he witnessed being shot in the head in a drive by shooting, while he was sitting on his porch. He said it could have easily been him... also that his brother always walked on his outside when they were on the sidewalk just incase.
I can't imagine living in a place like that. Worst I hear out where I am from are people shooting up a party at someone's house, or people getting into feuds with each other... and it ending with guns.

I went to my big cousins house who lived in watts a few times when i was younger. One of the times on the 4th of july. I wore a crispy ass purple shirt with a skull design on it and he took me inside and took my shirt off and gave me a white tee. I remember being low key mad cause he kept saying it was dangerous and i didnt understand how. I lived in riverside and came down to LA for the summer so i wasn't accustomed. I remember being hella hype thinking that fireworks were going off and ran outside to see, and my cousin ran and grabbed me before i went down the stairs. I just remember everyone being scared and my granny Screaming at him the next day cause i was there. That was the very last time i brought over there, i later understood why i guess. He dont live there no more tho.
Not a crazy story, just sum i happened to remember.

Its gotten much better. Fudgetown isnt really active that much anymore, most of them moved out to San Bernardino due to regentrification and the Jordan Downs is getting knocked down.
