I was there. Its my hometown. One of the best performances at Rockpalast. In the same year came Joan Armatrading, The Blues Band and ZZ Top. We all had a lot of fun.

For the love of Pete, why aren't there more musicians like this group??? Each individual in this group has more talent than the whole of any boy band or the trash on the radio now-a-days. Thanks, Coati! You guys were WAYYYY ahead of your time!

Kid, Coati the Band & singers music and choreography is outrageously tight! I'm tripping on how the ladies kept in time while spinning in the dark. Man their all sharp as hell.
Yeah love their moves, very talented them and all the band. Wish I had seen their shows live too.
Back when every sound was performed by a real musician. I love these guys. Even if you don't, you still have to appreciate that many people working together to put out that crazy tune. . Awesome.

@@CoatiMundiWorld Its cool. I didn't know that u gus were still in action. I was still a youngun but I was old enough to remember 'Im a Wonderful Thing' - it got alot of airplay on the R&B stations at that time. It was the jam, everbody was into it. Then years later I saw the Endicott video but there wasnt any airplay. Back then it was hard to keep track of artists with just the radio & magazines since there wasnt any internet.
You guys have a excellent, unique sound & great musicianship.
Btw, one of the MV eps that u were in > the scene with u & Tubbs greeting was classic! Yes I am a big MV fan. Thats one of the reasons the show was so great bc it gave so much exposure to fun, interesting ppl like u. Plus u are a cutie. 😉

@Coati Mundi, Right back at you Mate, this is fantastic! It very much was not what I was listening to in the 80s.
But quality stands the test of whatever time throws it's way, and this is outstanding. It sacks up today, just as well as it ever did.
I suppose because Salsa never really caught on as a "chart topping pop genre" here, it manages to transcend all those boxes people liked to tick, before they committed to being a "fan" (back then especially) of something .To be honest, it doesn't even sound dated today, and there's not a lot of 1980s music you can say that about. Sweet as a nut.

The only better live version was on Top of the Pops in early 80s - it used to be posted on YT but it got pulled - it's even snappier. Love this tune !
