We have gurdwaras all over the world and most of them in India , can we not include basic teaching , learning facilities too in gurudwara spaces for needy and evn for those who dont know or wish to know abt sikhism. Various skills that can be an earning source could be taught in gurudwara as a 6 month programme or so . I feel real , proper education is the only catalyst to bring change. Gurudwara committee can fund studious , meritorious students in their respective fields which would not only help them in building future but also motivate others. For us our Gurudwaras are ultimate source of learning , seeking , answers , everything then why not make it for real. I feel if we value our religion to such an extent then why dont use it in a better way , a more practical futuristic way. To conclude if we follow these steps , religion would never stay a barrier in growth , development , harmony. We for sure need something like this at the earliest.
@@BasicsofsikhiTV thank you ji. I have seen in my nearest gurudwara where children were taught kirtan , musical instruments, punjabi for free for all . I feel if such steps could be more vast and everywhere . How beautiful would world be when Gurudwara would be worshipped in real for being place for learning life and education.
57:16 daas would suggest doing a podcast on the partition of Panjab and the effect it had on Sikhs as well as the experience of Sikhs having to leave Panjab and settle in foreign lands
Excellent programme. Very glad you made this. Please start making programmes talking about modern day challenges, temptations that young face in school, colleges and uni and what they should remember/do to resist and stay true to Sikhi. Thank you.
Loved the entire discussion, very practical approach - especially how to get elderly involved and ideas on building bridges/relationships with them. Never thought about their hardships from back in the day, paying double mortgages while they tried to settle in a new country! Thank you for so much great info 🙏
This was an amazing talk. I loved the bit about "if you're gonna tell someone off, have something in the bank" and how that can apply in our day to day lives as well and how that is something that i dont do enough in my own life.
@@BasicsofsikhiTV Thank you Waheguru ji! I love the banter between everyone, and I miss out on the parts where it's spoken in Punjabi. However, I enjoy hearing Punjabi, as I'm trying to learn. I've started picking up words through Basics of Sikhi when the English words are captioned during any Punjabi spoken words. Fun fact, I was able to describe food I was eating as 'mitha' because I had heard it during Basic Of Sikhi videos. That was a special moment.
Thats very practical and true talk … thank you for sharing .. I have something in my mind from last year I thought could be very helpful for gurudwara sahib involvement.. I don’t know how to apply it proerly .. if anyone can help
