Oh man I wish they'd put something on those studs above the front cabin, they're the ONLY visible studs, making it annoying that they're visible rather than the norm for lego lol. Just plonk some grille pieces on there and you're sorted
It may be annoying, but it's to show the "legoiness" I think that's how they say it? I also like making mocs but I think when I make stud io mocs it just doesn't show that much "legoiness", and it made the build feel like it's not even lego
i love this set!!! it got me into lego trains, and i was so dissapointed to find out lego doesnt widely support 4 wide trains in track and motorisation
That's awesome to know! My theory that these sets would get people into Lego trains is already correct :0 A shame indeed, but glad you got into it thanks to that!
I don’t blame you for buying 2, it genuinely looks so great all together. I’m hoping as you’ve said Lego takes the hint and does more in future, it would be a shame to have just this one train, but still better than nothing! Great review and a nice companion to the narrow gauge video! Hopefully Lego makes more trains and you can do a sequel
Thanks Geoh! I concur with your points and indeed, would be nice to have more Lego stuff like this to make videos of too, haha! Glad you liked the video :)
When this set first came out it reminded me of the Class 222 Meridian, especially with two of the sets coupled together. Lego definitely should do more with 4 stud wide trains range but I wouldn't be surprised if they don't.
I think lego should make full on sets like these! Sure they may not be motorized but it would still be great! Making actual tracks. They could make a british diesel with rolling stock with a little loop and switch! Great video Larry!
This is a really cool set! It kind of reminds me of the previous generation full scale high speed train (Set 60051), as well as the classic Horizon Express. Hopefully they do more in this scale!
Do you know how many TrixBrix straight track pieces are required for the whole length of the two of them together? I'm looking to buy the sets as a display piece and get the track for it to sit on, but don't want to buy too much. Thanks.
Honestly what I am hoping for Lego to do is make other trains Maybe some small diesels and steam engines I mean a tiny Lego class 66 diesel model for small scale maybe . Being similar to your BoCo models design on a long diesel with turning wheels Or maybe a flying Scotsman or a tornado models being two famous steam trains . Scotsman being the first for 100mph and tornado for being younger than me even . In 2011 I think I mean if Lego dosent then I may try to do tornado myself . As it’s one of my favourite steam engine designs ever . And seeing a whole steam engine that is younger than me was so cool (oh and I plan to own a small N scale model train of her as it’s on my want list 100%) Anyways this is what I would hope for Lego to make and if they don’t then I will Just imagine mini Lego tornado with the Lego wheels for the drive wheels and swivelling front leading wheels and a tender connected by ball and socket with the rear trailing wheels can be ever so slightly higher above the rail so they don’t make contact . And snot bricks to add the smoke deflectors on the side of the smokebox with a sticker sheet for the likes of the tornado name on the side and number on the cab sides with the labels on the tender for BRITISH RAILWAYS . like I said if Lego dosent then I will . And whilst at it why not some coaches too . Perhaps one a set . So say you get tornado first . Built her . Then one coach and so on with the coaches until the whole train . Just think how cool this would all be . I am just rooting for a tiny tornado model
For the last cab vehicle, I would keep the pantograph but lower it. Usually trains have more than one pantograph, in case one stops working. Or, alternatively, I would install both pantographs on the second carriage, one raised and one lowered and that would give maximum reality for MUs!
hello larry, its me! the guy who asked to make gordon from that annie and clarabel video! ill not ask for engines or rolling stoc (even if theres no tanks or brakevan) your amazing builds make me make an james lego model! it dont look soo good, but im happy with the build, also that train model on the video looks very good! looks like that one white build that you made! its okay that you take an long time to came back, but is okay! thanks for inspired me to make an james model! love your channel, and goodbye! remember the gordon model 🙃
i have one of those lego trains, and when i hold one, it feels like holding a wii controller, even though i dont have wii, i could imagene it like that'
Great video thanks buddy. But I really need help here. Where can I find the tracks? I bought this for my son and now he is crying because I bought wrong tracks (City)
No problem! Ah, sorry to hear that. LEGO don't make track pieces for 4-wide trains, but you can buy individual rails and build them to be the right width! www.bricklink.com/v2/catalog/catalogitem.page?P=3228c&name=Train,%20Track%20Rail%20Straight%2016L%20(no%20slots,%20no%20tapered%20ends)&category=%5BTrain,%20Track%5D#T=C Alternatively, you can buy unofficial track the right size from Trixbrix.eu (look for "narrow gauge"). Sorry for the late reply! But I hope this helps
This is not a 3 in 1, there are no alternate builds. I have made some similar 4-wide builds on my channel/Rebrickable and I'm sure you can find others online!
@@daedalussss5580 I have some of mine on my Rebrickable page! rebrickable.com/users/LarrysLego/ Not sure if it's what you're looking for but hope it helps :)
So I was in Israel doing volunteer work recently and saw some trains like that and immediately thought of your videos. I have a fair amount of those tiny train wheels (and a 3D printer to make my own narrow-gauge track), I just didn't know of any real trains I wanted to replicate until now! I too hope LEGO does more with this scale in the future as it's much easier to build a whole train this way.

A video on the history of LEGO's Standard Gauge trains would be awesome
Thanks for the idea! This one has been done before, but maybe standard gauge track would be unique and interesting

I know it dosen't have to do with the video but i would really love to see you try and build "Ivor The Engine" in 4 stud wide lego form!
I bought this 3 months ago in Paris, when I was there with school...
It has only been 3 months, but feels like yesterday

I might just get 2 of these and modify the ends to resemble a Shinkansen. Great video!
