- Walk around video of my 1938 Packard 12 Gentlemen's Coupe. This car was my grandfather's, and has undergone a full restoration. It is a true American classic, and has it's senior award through the Classic Car Club of America.
Stunning engineering, a true work of art from a bygone era. Can you imagine the 100's of hours spent on the wheel forming the roof and fender lines?? The interior and instrumentation is as
elegant as it gets. Very impressive, new cars today with all of the electronics can't touch these works of art.
Absolutely gorgeous always loved early Packard's
I always thought of the Packard as sort of an American Rolls Royce, or perhaps a Bentley. Wonderful cars. Well built, well designed.
Doesn't get much better than this. Superb style and engineering in original condition plus a bit. It's in the right hands...
Stately and elegant. What a fabulous interior. Rumble seats were so much fun to ride in. Friends of my parents had a '36 Ford coupe. They had the trunk made into a rumble seat so they could all ride. I rode in the rumble seat with my Mom and the lady. What a blast it was.
💙🇨🇦🍁From a Canadian fan… this restoration is “Stunning” Concours D’Élégance status. This car is the most beautiful in design, engineering and style ever produced. You are a lucky young man to have ownership of this magnificent ride. Much respect to Packard Bob and a host of others who took great pride to bring this car to such high standard. 💥✌️🇨🇦🍁
So wonderful to see you carry on your grandad's legacy. Gorgeous car and love the little details of how you present it at shows
A Timeless MasterPiece!
That's a mighty handsome automobile!
Wow wow wow! Stunning car, you should be proud and happy to be the custodian of such a beautiful rare car. Well done, congratulations!
Wow ! What a beauty 😍
WoW....I was amazed at the beauty of that factory gold paint, interior wood & leather compliment & complete an astonishing American icon!! Kudos for keeping what really belongs in the Library of Congress collection in your family! Extra special thanks for honking the horn .... was thinking that as soon as you opened the hood !
Of all the incredible classics whether custom built or factory offerings they started with the radiator. The grill design identified the car and nobody but nobody had a prettier or more magnificent grill than Packard.
Great video of the most beautiful Packard .
One of the most beautiful cars ever built. When I see it I find it so sad that the Packard factory disappeared.
Wow,,,, Packard was the competition to Cadillac ,,, It’s just perfect Sr. …..Congratulations on bring it back to life….thank you
Beautiful car and a true gem. Amazing how technology had improved horsepower over the years. A 2 Liter engine of today has more performance than a 500 C.I. 12 cyl engine of that era.
Beautiful car! Hard lesson to learn about the wrong oil and gas. Merchandise for shows is top notch...
Beautiful unique car. I spun a rod bearing in a V-12 E-Type in my 20's so I can relate to that "Oh no, what have I done?" feeling. I also did the work myself and had to take half the car apart to get it out. Simply finding people that can do the machine work for these large engines is getting harder with each passing year.
It·s magic !! Congratulations ...
What a beauty!
Thank You for sharing!
Gorgeous car! ❤❤👍👍
Thank you for sharing 😊😊
Absolutely gorgeous.
I’ve never seen nor heard of this model of Packard. Usually they are sedans or duel, cowell photons ! In their day, they made the some of the finest cars in the world
What an outstanding car! That is body is so unusual, I am sure it is a custom bodied car! Very rare!
It is, and according to the CCCA and the AACA car clubs, it is the last running example in existence that is documented and road worthy.
Beautiful Car and very close to me,
One fine car, beautiful /////////////////////////////
20 years old and inherited the car, pretty nice; I was much older when I bought a two owner super eight from 1940. Well, I enjoy telling people about the car and you should be equally proud to do so...I like being bombarded with questions, shows enthusiasm and thats why we drive these old cars isn't it
Stunningly beautiful car....
What a beautiful example of art deco design. this is one of the most beautiful cars I have seen. I'll bet Jay Leno would pay a small fortune to own this car. I know I would and it would be worth every penny.
Very nice and honest presentation.
Thank you for sharing.
Gorgeous automobile...well done video! Thank you.
Their's A special place in heaven for guys like you...👍👍🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸... Thanks for sharing your awesome video 👍👌🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸
Nice job on the vid Scott/ Packard fans are really going to like this

Thanx Scott! What a car I love it.
You have done a superb job of making it the best it can be! What an incredible legacy gift
EXCELLENT CAR.
AT 1ST GLANCE I THOUGHT IT WAS A ROLLS❤❤
Very nice automobile. Very rare and very clean. Absolutely priceless.
Not a fan of the color. But, were I to judge it, would never think to deduct for it. Beautiful work of driveable art! Hope you enjoy it for decades!
The color is unfortunate.
175 hp in a 12 cylinder what a gorgeous car
MARAVILLOSA MAQUINA DESDE ARGENTINA, DESDE EL FIN DEL MUNDO
Never seen a car with the front fenders sweeping up around the sidemount spare tires like that. Thank you for the video.
An absolute beautiful stunning Vehicle, love the V12 Side valve.a credit to you Sir.new subscriber
Very clean.....Spotless
Stunning car!
Thats a beauty, nice presentation. Love to hear it under modera5 acceleration.
Haha I rode in this exact car thanks for the ride scott
Great looking car .-)
An amazing car.
A fine looking vehicle.
Very elegant . "Ask the man who owns one".
As the occasional designated driver, I really wish modern cars came with a rumble seat.
Spectacular
Wonderful car
Very cool ride
Gorgeous car, ultimate color, beautiful interior and dash. It's easy to see why Packard was THE luxury car for decades. One downside, the overhanging luggage trunk, rather detracts from the cars lines.
Pure gold.
I'm sure maintenance is constant. Can you imagine what it was like in the day? Keeping those white walls white? And everything else. It's been loved and cared for all it's life.
PIĘKNY PACKARD - BEAUTIFUL
Beautiful car, nice to know it is driven Not a trailer Queen, that is after all the whole point of a car isn,t it, 'driving it, enjoying it' IF i want Art then i buy a painting, but a car is to be driven!!!!
The Packard factory or what's left of it is still there. Packard was my Grandmother's car
Gorgeous
Only the Best of cars Packard can not be beat Ask the man who owns one

Marvelous
Nice automobile…gorgeous
I own two '37 12 cylinder three window coupes (one just sold and going to Germany).
Wonderful car you have there and great color!
That's awesome! For the past 15 years, I have been trying to find another 1938 Packard 12 3 window rumble seat coupe and have had no luck. There was another one known to exist with mine back in 1985, but after the owner passed away, the car disappeared. I wish someone would come forward if they have a 1938 like mine. So far mine is the last one known to exist that is road worthy according to CCCA.
@@scotthoye7360 i'd be curious to know how many 38's were built. There were 42 37's built and eight survive today. Do you know Jim Pearsall?
@Hartfordland As far as I know, only 8, 1938 Packard 12's 3 window coupes were made with the rumble seat. I have a video up I made yesterday of an old VHS tape that shows mine and the last other 1938 Packard 12 rumble seat coupe known to exist back in 1985. No, I do not know Jim Persall.
I would drive that everywhere, every day.
Awesome :)
My dream car is a 1934-38 Packard coupe like this. there are very few things i wouldnt do for one.
WOW,, just WOW
MSRAVILLOSA MAQUINA, DESDE ARGENTINA, SALUDOS.
Awesome car,has a proper manual transmission and yes it's from another age so proper care is advisable! Cheers
Lucky you I would love too Drive every Day SO Cool 😎 😩Fabulous
What a glorious automobile. A friend of mines dad restored one just like it when we were in high school. I would be willing to bet its still in the family.
That hood ornament is by far my favorite compared to any other. The only other one that is close if imperials eagle.
Really nice automobile
That beautiful car deserves a better color.
And what color would that be?
@@scotthoye7360 There are many options, not just one,as you seem to suggest I'm proposing.
I just asked for a color, I'm not suggesting that the factory gold color is the best. That's how the car came. That's the color that my grandfather wanted to keep when restoring it, I'm sorry it's not to your liking.
@scotthoye7360 There's no need to apologize, and I don't mean to be insulting. I can certainly understand the desire to keep the original color; that'salways the preservationist's first choice. When I looked up the factory colors for the 1938 model year, the dark colors are elegant, but the ivory really jumped out at me. In any case, it's a car to be proud of.
Now this is an automobile! Daddy Likes!
Love this car! good idea with the electric fuel pump! My Packard if sits you have to crank till the fuel pumps up.
You had new rods made?
the stock AC fuel pump is no good at all on these engines I fix them
Shweet !
I saw an unrestored Packard as a teenager at an impromptu show in NJ in the late 1960’s. Up close, I was surprised by how large it was. It had freestanding headlights and four doors, so a 1930’s model? Hmmm…it might have been less than 40 years old then.
Please let us show the 1938 Packard promo-film you mentioned at the end. Is it possible to make a upload on You Tube? I hope the best!
wow!!!!
excuse me - damn I'm drooling.
You lucky B******
B****** = Buddy ;o)
TOP!
Rolling Art Work Johnny from Alabama
Simply show stopper!
Nice quality footage for a mobile phone, wondering which phone you use as my iphone 5 takes a terrible video. Oh and love the Packard no better vehicle ever.
Nice ,,,,
supercool
That trunk is as big as a teardrop trailer.
You have an extraordinary automobile, a great and significant American classic. I do have a '55 "The Four Hundred" and certainly enjoy it. "ASK THE MAN WHO OWN'S ONE!"
Agh! If I owned it I'd have to drive it!
Was this the same wheelbase as the Super 8 coupe?
I own a 1937 Cadillac coupe seres 60
Wondering what type of oil do you use?
Schaeffer 20W-50, it's in a red bottle and has a high zinc content for the old engines.
@@scotthoye7360 thank you
beautiful car Scott
@Gregory clark no problem, my grandfather also owned a Cadillac series 60. I believe it was a 1941, it was a dark purple/ maroon color with a cream top. I personally never saw the car. Out of the 11 classics that he owned, I only remember 5 of them. 5 Packards, 3 Bantams, 1 1958 mercedes 190sl, 1922 Detroit Electric, and the 1941 series 60 Cadillac.
like 847, I subscribed !
How would a packard V12 complement a billet DOHC set of aluminum heads and connecting rods? I'm just curious
How can going to back sit ?
Wonderful! Thank you! (If God didn't want us to love cars, He wouldn't have allowed cars to be invented.)
We love the car . But show us the film .
where is Penna?
