Oh my gosh! We share such similar stories! I;m an ER RN and I tell my family who complain about all the carboard boxes I SAVE ( they say hoard lol) that crafting helps the PTSD I suffer from the hard days of coding babies and attempting CPR for 20+ minutes without success. I treat every patient as if they are my family so I take home all the pain too. I wish I would have started therapy in the begininning of my career but I had no idea how ir would affect me. Now, I have Lupus, which makes it even harder to work but, I was meant to be a nurse. I was called to be one.
Yes! I’m with you 110% tbh, I swore I’d never be a nurse- and decided to go back for a job that always hired, and was good money..but once I got in, I was like Omg! This is what I’m supposed to do! I started off doing nursing at a school and group home for mentally disabled (still my favorite job!!) and I’ve done every type of nursing you can imagine- and I’ve even climbed in bed with a little lady at a nsg home who was dying (she had NOBODY) and she loved me- she didn’t die alone- no one deserves that! And I just feel like I fell into my calling❤️we complain when we do those tiring shifts, but complain how we miss it when we stop😝😝I love it so so much, and I’m so glad you’re here!!
I came across your channel a few days ago and I just love your crafts. You’re just so sweet and encouraging. Thank you for sharing where you get your rub on’s and your rice paper, her stuff is beautiful! I am watching today’s show and you mentioned that you are a nurse and I am also a nurse for 32 years so it’s almost like I was meant to find your channel. Again, thank you so much for your content😊❤️
Hope I come across these pieces at some point because I loved everything you done here 💖. I've always known them as zip ties also 😊. I honestly thought that was the correct name for them 🙃. I gotta say thank you Kathy. The whole children's nursing thing. That just made me love you even more. 4 of the 6 of my grandbabies started out in the NICU & you ladies are a God send for real. I suppose to go waaaay back, I was a very sickly child. About 21 of my 49 surgeries was real early in life. I wore a trach for over 10 years as a child (I still have it here in a baggie, Idk why we kept it but anywho). There was a nurse at the hospital named Cory. I will NEVER forget her & how special she was. Mind you at the time I crossed paths with Cory, I was almost 5. She made me feel great & safe with all those early & loooooong hospital stays I had. I wish I could've ran into her again after I was grown (I wasn't supposed to live to be grown) so I could've hugged her & told her what a wonderful impact she made on my life. Even though I can't hug you, I can tell you what a difference you make...God bless you my friend. I've been here with you since almost the very beginning if not the very beginning. I've said many times I thought we were somehow kin & now I have one more reason to feel "connected" to you. Thank you for all you do...on & off this channel 💕💕💕.

Where I lived for just a year, but o my goodness- that meant everything to me!❤️
It takes a special kind of person to be a nurse! I could never take care of babies and kids in a lot of pain as I am such a softy. Thank you for sharing your life with us!!!!! And also your beautiful crafts!!
Thanks for sharing your crafting journey! I also worked with kid's, in the behavioral unit. My Mom crafted with us when I was younger, but I really didn't do much on my own,but when I started working with the kid's I remembered how relaxing and calming crafting was,so I dove in with the kids and they loved it! Now that I'm retired I just can't seem to stop and you feed my addiction! Plus I drag my grandkids into it now to. Lol
Wow!!! I'm glad your stimulator worked for you. I had one insertrd a few years ago, the surgeon didn't listen to my pain management doc and put what he thought would work. Like, instead of a direct wire thing, the surgeon put a paddle in. Well, they never could get it to work correctly. The battery pack in my butt was painful, I couldn't wear jeans anymore and it moved around. Recharging it was always a hassle. I even went as far as using a permanent pen to draw a circle when I found it. But the next time it needed charging it wasn't there. Hence, after a year of frustration I had it removed. Last week the pm doc told me my stenosis and degenerative problems were worse than they were last year. And, my meds aren't working as well as they used to. I can't stand longer than 2 minutes without pain. Back pain is the worse. Doctor won't give me stronger drugs. And if I try something new, and it doesn't work, then I can't even go back to my normal drugs for a month. It sucks!
Good grief! That sounds about like my journey! One side of my stimulator quit and the surgeon was like 🤷🏻♀️whoops! Boy! The first fusion in my back failed and I have 3 broken screws in my spine! I don’t trust ANY dr anymore

Yep! And it really does help with the anxiety of life!! When my husband complains I do it too much, I’m like “at least this is a healthy way of coping with life!, it’s my therapy!” And he shuts up😝
Kathy you have a story that sounds like mine. I’m a nurse also who has had 2 back surgeries and that turned into Fibromyalgia, and osteoarthritis and every time I turn a it’s something new. I ❤ being a nurse, but about 12 years ago I had to go on disability, and being home by myself while everyone is at work the depression sat in. I just wanted you to know I’m here for you. Many prayers 🙏🏻 for you. Take care❤
Me too. I had an injury during the delivery of my first child. I have sciatica and fibromyalgia now. Crafting keeps me sane. I pray you have pain free days and extra spoons ( spoon theory)

@@kraftykathy.I worked in NICU. It is so hard not to bring that home. There were days I had to sit in my car in the driveway because I couldn't come into my family yet. It's emotionally exhausting but also very fulfilling.❤
You are such an inspiration!! I bought one of those velvet type square cork pieces to put on my cabinet door and thumbtack a different Scripture to every day and of course a recipe if needed. The only color they had was hot pink :0! I hated the color but that was all they had. It never occured to me to cover it. So I donated it to Goodwill when I found a gray one. NOW, I'm going to decorate the gray one thanks to you. I just ordered 3 of the IOD books from Milton's Daughter! It's on the way and I can't wait to use those beautiful transfers. They are expensive but they are so much prettier than anything else I've ever seen, I had to get them!! Thanks for the recommendation and thanks for the many inspirational videos you have done!! I’ve been wanting the IOD book with the seed packets since I saw them last year but they have been out of stock when I’ve checked other distributors. So when Milton’s daughter had them, I had to jump! I got that and 2 others! So excited.

All these are absolutely beautiful! I just started crafting about 10 months ago myself! I was always interested in it but never thought i could do it! I'm so glad i did finally dive in its be a HUGE stress reliever! Have had a lot going on these last couple years and this year has been very hard, lost my grandfather inlaw 4/5 and then my dad 4-28. Going through my dads stuff the other day i found a piece of barn wood he had cut out to make like a folded flag but hadn't been able to and I'm looking forward to completing it 😢 thanks so much for sharing your beautiful projects, stories, experiences and everything!! 💫🤍✨🤍

Admittedly I don't do any of the types of crafts that you do, I really only do diamond painting, but so far I've loved everything you've made. Great ideas Mrs Kathy ..hugs I love your crafts ..I just took down an old fence ,used the fence boards to make plant raise beds .I use edging around the bottom s and than painted them a fresh white ,,I'm just waiting for the first coat to dry and than I ll do the second coat ..I have soil and some Bush's and veg plants along with flowers ,,I can't wait to see it finished I ll share a pic when I'm done ..I'm down with the cold so I'm still doing it on my good days ..so it's taking awhile but I'm getting there ..love from my pup and I ..stay well and healthy and safe ..t2u soon ❤️
Love ALL these ideas. I used hair pins ( I had long hair once upon a time) as floral pins... I didn't want to buy something if they worked. If I did floral stuff a lot, I'd buy the pins, but they worked as long as I was careful. Hugs!❤

Maybe a hot iron with steam would have shrunk the fabric and made it tight. Sometimes I do that on upholstery fabric to make a covered cushion snug. Vinyl thrown in a cloths dryer before placing on a chair is something my very smart mother taught me over 50 years ago. Yea for moms!

All are beautiful but my favorite is the wall hanging. It would cost you big bucks to buy at the store. It's great we can do this ourselves for our homes. My budget is small and this is a great idea to decorate with. Thanks for the inspiration. ❤🎉

Great ideas Mrs Kathy ..hugs I love your crafts ..I just took down an old fence ,used the fence boards to make plant raise beds .I use edging around the bottom s and than painted them a fresh white ,,I'm just waiting for the first coat to dry and than I ll do the second coat ..I have soil and some Bush's and veg plants along with flowers ,,I can't wait to see it finished I ll share a pic when I'm done ..I'm down with the cold so I'm still doing it on my good days ..so it's taking awhile but I'm getting there ..love from my pup and I ..stay well and healthy and safe ..t2u soon ❤️

Love ALL these ideas. I used hair pins ( I had long hair once upon a time) as floral pins... I didn't want to buy something if they worked. If I did floral stuff a lot, I'd buy the pins, but they worked as long as I was careful. Hugs!❤

Maybe a hot iron with steam would have shrunk the fabric and made it tight. Sometimes I do that on upholstery fabric to make a covered cushion snug. Vinyl thrown in a cloths dryer before placing on a chair is something my very smart mother taught me over 50 years ago. Yea for moms!
