    1962 Chevrolet Bel Air 409 Video: Muscle Car Of The Week Episode 259 V8TV
    The 1962 Chevrolet 409 was a bad machine, and this one has a rich history of winning drag races with the trophies and paperwork to prove it. A very cool 1962 Bel Air Bubbletop from The Brothers Collection!

    Love the time when car builders were making it fun to buy a car and had the goodies to option it out. It is great that these cars still exist, to remind us that there was a time when fun was part of life!

    Cool cool cool, I learned to use a clutch in a 1963 Bel-Air three on the tree when I was about 12 in 1972.

    My favorite full-size Chevy from the `60s....especially in `09 form, they set the standard for "cool muscle"....

    wow 11's, back in the day, frikin super fast! What do you think of Pontiac Catalina 2+2, not sure if that was in the 11"s

    • @GlassTopRX7
      @GlassTopRX7 6 років тому +1

      I somewhat doubt the 11's he's talking about were from the early 60's mostly likely times it achieved later in it's time as a racer but it depends on what class it racing in. SD421 ran mid 12's in 62' drag trim and showroom stock was good for high 13's putting it on par with the 413 Darts. They were more than match for any showroom stock 409's though very few made it into the wild as most went straight to racers.

    They were called chrome reverse because the center was cut out and reversed hence the name

    from what I understand left over bubble tops from 61 production run ended up on some 62 cars. not 100 percent on that but sounds like something GM would do.
