I like the dress but idk - I thought she could have worn something more conservative when going to apologize to Natasha for the mess she made. What happened to Natasha was sad and undeserved. I also found it interesting she wore the same dress in SATC 2 when going to dinner with Big. It was like an "I Won" symbolism..
@waltereg0 thanks and great comment. It's supposed to be sad for 2 reasons: 1. to counteract the fairy tale ending associated with the original. 2. to humanize QueerCarrie and break the association with her original franchised character. The goal wasn't the present Carrie with a fulfilling relationship; Carrie's previous unfulfilling relationship(s) were the motivation for her coming out and the plot point to drive the opening story. Thanks for your feedback and great insight.
Carrie is hardly Marylin,Marylin was diva-self content, self enough, successful and energetic joyfully magnet-and Carrie is desperate for attention, needy, judging and lost.
If the goal was to present Carrie turning to a fulfilling relationship with a woman because of being disenchanted with men, then this chapter ends on a very down note of still being alone and unloved. It's rather sad.
@tgflux Great comments & I totally agree. I tried hard to integrate that portion into the remixed story but it just never fit realistically because there wasn't enough voice over narration to hold it together. I have about 30 min worth of 'outakes' that features similar storyline & include the more queer subtext moments u mentioned on the DVD. (want one? send me your email) Unfortunately, using only SATC material meant that these were great as short excerpts, but didn't flow into a whole story.
(Con'td) Or especially, *Miranda*. Running throughout the series, is the barely subtextual reality that *Miranda is in love w/ Carrie*. Because they can't say so, they show it mainly through their FIGHTS. Throughout the series, Miranda and Carrie get into arguments, because Miranda doesn't think Carrie's guy is "good enough for her" . . . begging the question of who IS...herself! The end of the series---when Carrie was weighing going to Paris, epitomized this (the fight outside the funeral).
She sleeps wearing her bra?! Really? I thought she was portraying a "real" woman in New York?! Cant believe i hadn't noticed it then...lol I also know a guy like Big...#mood
I think they had to do it because SJP put it in the contract that she will never be shot in any scenes without a bra. She wanted to always have it on regardless
It wouldn't surprise me one bit if Carrie truly were a lesbian. I've seen women behave manically like this with men, only later to start to go out with women and calm the hell down, as they're finally dating within their true orientation.
she was not a lesbian so why are you making her one even for a laugh?was SATC all about4 lesbians then?no need to queerify everything.isnt the reboot enough for you all?
@@cattyelse2372 Don't be so over-dramatic. There's nothing prejudiced about it, and no one's making anyone anything for a laugh. I'm speculating about about a fictional character based on her behaviour. You're the one using the vile, homophobic slur 'queer', which many gay- and lesbian people find abhorrent.
Nice . . . but I think you missed some of the queerer moments of this period---and of the series as a whole. I think it was in S5, that Carrie went to SF (along w/ Samantha) to see Big, because she wanted a man to "lie on top of her." Lie on top of you? Hello? There's little doubt Samantha would do that for you!
Carrie is also TOXIC AF, as well as selfish, self obsessed, neurotic & needy Look at what she did to Aidan TWICE. She treated him like dirt. Same with Big. As soon as she got him she became instantly bored with him & nothing he ever did made her happy. Hard pass on Carrie. She's a garbage person. No wonder Burger ran the other way 🤣
I found it interesting Carrie just walks out in her underwear to find an smaller dress. I know SJP does have a no nuidty, but I don't care I wish in her birthday episode she lost her red outfit on the way from her the restaurant to her apartment. Also because of the underwear scene I just watch her over and over in her underwear
Carrie is not gorgeous, but neither is Natasha, she is threatened by what Big did for her, which Carrie couldnt do. The only onw she should feel self conscious around would be Samantha ( who is stunning)
Loved Carrie in the newspaper patterned dress.

That's a Christian Dior dress darling

this is so funny LMFAO I love this
I love this so much
Love it. You're brilliant.
:'(
Thank you! Great job... I definitely love QueerCarrie! ^^
Jackie vs Marilyn

I see better looking people outside of New York than inside New York haha 🤣
This is so wrong but I love it

She has a No nudity clause in her SATC contract.
It's crazy but I know women who sleep in their bras. I can't even stand one during the day 😒
What's so weird about it?? I always sleep in my bra.
Bridget M is stunning!
OH I GOT IT!!!!
AND JUST LIKE THAT means!!!
Wow I never knew Carries had dipped her toes in that pond!

how the f can you make that incredibly crass comment??? very prejudiced

honestly, Natasha is tall, slender, well-groomed .. but terribly boring .. Carrie is life .. Imperfect, but real🍸

Natasha is so classy but kind of clasist too with normal people i think...
it wasnt about queer women so why make it queer for your own ego? plenty of shows for you
