As a Reds fan, it has been a pleasure to watch Joey be the first baseman for the Reds for my entire adult life. I understand the Organization's position when it comes to Votto this season. I would love to see him get what he never got in Cincinnati, a championship.
Great interview. Wish the Cardinals had a spot for him. Can't imagine why other teams aren't snapping him up. Veteran presence with tons of experience, and I believe him when he says he has more in the tank.
This guy's voice and delivery is so good. He is so knowledgeable. Listening to him is like listening to poetry. Just a smart person, on and off the field. I'll be rooting for him.
Joey sure would look nice in a Cards hat. He has the best Albert anecdotes. Always cool to hear my second favorite player talk about my favorite player.
Great interview. This guy is super articulate and smart. He always killed the Cardinals, it seemed. Frankly, would rather him being on the team than some of the guys we have. Bet he still produces.
The Cardinals probably give Votto a shot before they did with Crawford or Carpenter. They already signed those two players at the end of their careers. I do wish Votto the best of luck as he is a first class act playing for the Reds.
Jim, THANK YOU for doing this! He's one of those guys you just need to hear from. As a Cards fan, I always groaned when he came to the plate, I knew what he was gonna do. Gotta respect that. Game knows game. Now if the Cards can get him into the Org somehow ...
I do admire players who spend their whole career in one team. It's basically why I became a Cards fan, specifically for Molina. We have a lot of good players not under contract still at the moment, so as sorry I am about Votto not being able to play ML, I fear the worst for him. Thanks to Boras and the likes, who in my opinion greatly are responsible for destroying the market for these guys. Boras doesn't care though, because he landed some insanely overpriced contracts already.

Noooooooooooo! Cards don't need Votto, and I have no interest in someone with the baggage of Bauer. Greinke has no interest in playing for the Cardinals, and another late-30s starter is not required.
Dalton, I apologize for my fellow birds. I think you’re right even if you’re kidding… after listening to Bauer.. he’s like a square in a swamp they just don’t have anything on. He’s just an eccentric yet very sobering guy. And he’s actually always been really sober. That nut job in LA set out to get him, listen to him on Theo Von. It’s well documented. And he did nothing wrong
@@tiggy1198 That throw was actually really impressive if we are being honest, he was pretty much flat footed and threw a home run lol Who cares he didn't hurt anyone and he immediately apologized. Did he hurt your feelings that day? Lol I don't think I've ever seen that many bloop hits in a row, any highly competitive person would been frustrated. Instead of yelling into his glove he threw a ball over a wall into some grass, boohoo
When this media crusade started, I was rooting for Domo Arrogato Mr Joe Votto…but the more he plays his sob song, the more I hope he spends the year on the couch. Get a life dude.
Weird take. I personally think it's awesome that at least one player exists that doesn't just give canned responses, and communicates in a clear manner. He is one of the giants of this era.

Joey Votto is a legend. Maybe google some of the fantastic stuff he has done for his community. I have no further use for you, or those that have your mindset. All the best.

I would have rather they have gotten him over Carp. And I love Carp.
Agreed. I wonder if they are still considering it if Carp doesn't get going early.

I’ve loved watching Joey play and his interviews for years. Always been my favorite Non Cardinal. He would have been a great pickup for the bench.
Ditto. Favorite non-Cardinal of his generation.
As a Reds fan, Joey is going to be very missed, and I couldn’t imagine seeing him in a different jersey other than Reds. Best to you Joey Lovato.

WOW, great interview and I wish he was a Cardinal now!
my favorite Non Cardinal too loved watching his at bats
What a great interview!!! Best yet!!! Mahalo to Mr Votto for sharing!!! Even a bigger fan of Votto!
Haha. Loved hearing his perception of the Reds/Cardinals mix-up.
Gotta love Votto

He is a class act. I wish him good luck.
Thanks Jim! This was amazing to listen too! good job! You are doing great work with this channel, keep it up!
Been loving your interviews Jimmy! Was happy to see u on the Blues broadcast the other day!! Great job man!!
Much appreciated!
Always had great respect for him.

great show Jim & Joey!
So happy Joey’s “home” team signed him. Always wanted Joey to be a Cardinals.
Great interview Cat, a class act, Votto I mean.
Enjoyed

Votto still bangs!
Good interview. Hope he get an opportunity
I think the Cardinals should give him a chance being on the roster
I think voto would have been a better pick up than carpenter all day long

Let's hope he makes the Jays. I don't like the Jays. But I LOVE AND RESPECT Votto! Go Joey!

They can give him a 3 year deal
I rather see Votto over Carpenter or Crawford!
DFA Carp and sign Joey on a final year contract.
DFA a player who can play 3 infield positions over one who's only ever played first?
Dumb idea.
@@naciremasti Thinking that statement was serious is also dumb
If the Cardinals wanted someone who could provide veteran leadership and contribute, thru should have signed Joey Votto instead of Carpenter.
He's strictly a first baseman. Matt can play 1st, 2nd and 3rd. Why would we need Votto?
Sign joey
SIGN TREVOR BAUER!!!
Right!
signing a person like this would really add Value and Class to the Team what a waste of talent and for what???
@kenscott993 can you try to write a coherent question next time?
No, thanks.
Trade Goldie, sign Votto! I fail to see the problem or any legitimate reason for hesitation
Cardinals need to let Votto DH. Play Gorman at 2nd.
Go get Bauer, and Greinke.
Noooooooooooo!
