The grungy brother of Val d'Isere, Tignes is often over looked but only by those who don't know about it's luxury chalets and hotels and it's great ski-in-ski-out villages.
one of the best in my opinion
CANNOT WAIT, LOVE THIS PLACE. Toviere is the best. I remember spending 24 hours on palafour when I was about 5 and 6. Definitely can't wait. It's the best ski resort around. Going there in 5 days!!!
I'm staying in the building that is right next to palafour and the slaloms
It's s great resort. I went with my university ski trip in 2011.
Went twice last season, going again at Christmas 24/25 . Love the place (and the ugly buildings).
Been a couple of times and skiing is great. I would think they’re going to need to rebuild those 60’s blocks soon! Already 60 years old and as you say immensely ugly. Get some hotels, good value apartments and chalets up. Something for everyone .
Going there in January next year for my auntie wedding can't wait! Gonna take loads of photos :D
it is so good!
Is a way to ride to tignes from a transportation other than tenting a car?
It looked a lot nicer before all those hideous buildings were put up.

Its also hostile for beginners.
Nonsense - it's an excellent place to learn
My 2 kids started here when 2 year old and never complained :)
One of the best places for beginners to go - no ice to worry about (the snow is always good because of the altitude), several good blues and some pretty easy reds for the faster learners to try.
The only difficulty here as a novice is getting over to Val D'isere. The ski-route via santons, is a long tricky red - so novices need to take diebold down to Lanche and then hop on a bus if they want to try out the blues above Val D'Isere and Le Fornet.
It's one of the best places to learn!
Merci, George
(Désolé mon français n'est pas parfait!)
