Ok so it's not letting me comment so imma just put my comment here:
Okay so my theory is with each teaser trailer they put out it's all been different plotlines with hopper in Russia this new family that they have and the rainbow room teaser and then the fourth teaser will be the fourth plot line. So the gang that moved away are gonna be part of the trying to save hopper plotline and dr Brenner is gonna try to get back elleven somehow. The gang that still is in Hawkins is gonna be part of the clock family plotline and the rainbow room plotline is just gonna be past events that lead up to something and reveal something major. The rainbow room flashback is also going to be starting off the new season. In episode 1 is going to introduce us to the rainbow room flashbacks and how everyone is doing with grieving abt hopper, the move, ect. Its also going to introduce something about one of the plotlines perhaps the clock house one. I dont have any more ideas for anything but I do have ideas on how the season will be chronologically

About the rabbit theory, I wanna add that in season 2 Will is possessed by the Mind Flayer, using his eyes and ears to send info to the Demogorgons. What if Victor (or whatever the character's name is) gouged his own eyes so that the Mind Flayer wouldn't see what he sees??

Maybe all the clocks they have been teasing since the beginning of the promotion of season 4 might mean time travel? I agree it's too big of a topic to introduce this late into the series, but what if it already did existed and we just didn't notice it. What if whenever someone made a connection to the upside down, they might have been looking at earth millions of years later in the future. I think this, because mr.clarke says that it's a rip between TIME and space. There is a biological theory that humans are still evolving like they evolvoed from apes to humans. Maybe demogorgons are descendants of humans? Maybe all these were hinted but we just didn't notice it? Maybe the duffer bros hinted the fact that all these were hinted THROUGHOUT the seasons while Dustin says "The world is full.of obvious things, which nobody by any chance, ever observes"?
In season 1, we are led to believe that Eleven opens the door to the upside down sometime in the early 1980s, but the teaser shows us evidence it was opened as early as 1959. The lights and dead animals are a sign of upside down activity. So the big question is what event really did open the portal to the upside down? What was Hawkins Lab working on in the 1950s? Also, if the upside down is opened in 1959, why was just the Creel House the only place to be affected. This teaser makes me wonder what if the upside down was never created, but was always there?
I assume mkultra was just doing their original research with mind control and psychedelic drgs and everything and then the upside down came into the picture and Brenner saw potential or interest there. I think we're going to get a look at the origin of the upside down with the clock and the creel house this season

One of the prequel books to stranger things called “Suspicious Minds” goes into more of what the lab was doing around 1969, but It didn’t specify what the lab was researching in the 1950s. The book mainly focuses on Terry Ives, and when she started volunteering as a test subject. Thanks for the info, No one does analysis videos on stranger things like you do. Can’t wait to find out more!
Maybe eleven did what the Russians were trying to do. Maybe the portal was already open and they just covered it up. Eleven possessed so much power that she could re open it which leads me to believe the upside down opened it self up. Because what if what ever it was resided in the clock and when the creels moved in it attached it self to victor and in turn opened it from the outside

As soon as they showed us the flashback to the creel house I immediately was suspicious as to why we were seeing upside down activity as early as the late 50s, but you may have just figured it out.

And just something that made me think…. It’s not just the twins, Jack is also implied to time travel in the Shining. The Rose harkens back to Steven King as well, particularly as it’s connection to a dilapidated house in the Tower series (which also deals with moving between worlds and time travel). Maybe a little inspo there.

We did not have time travel but when El was in billys memories... Isn't that a bit like time travel?

I don't think El was able to alter/change anything, she could only observe that memory. I'd say it was more of El's telepathy powers

Why does everyone have a problem with the younger kids being a few years older than their characters when Nancy Johnathan and Steve are nearly a decade older? Especially during season 1, they really didn’t look 16.
I thought they were 17 in season 1 as season 2 is there last year of school and they should be 18 by then. But i get what you're saying, at least they look more like their age then then the students from the first Sam Ramie spider man film
I also dont see a problem but it is more obvious that the kids are older than their characters because this is the age were puberty hits hard and the difference between 14 and maybe 18 is more obvious than 18 and 25. I actually would have never guessed that the guy who plays Steve is much older.

@@dylancasey1702 Nancy and Jonathan were meant to be in their sophomore year in season 1, Steve is a year above them. In season 2 Steve talks about how next year he will have graduated and that Nancy will still be at school. Since Jonathan is driving I suppose his birthday must be pretty early in the school year.

I noticed the "rose" too. Still, as you said, I don't know what he'd be doing with a rose. I think one of the other commenters on here may be right...it's his flashlight with the red rim. However, there's another thing that's interesting - the clock with the reflection appears to be an identical clock to the one in the attic. We can tell it's definitely a different clock by the reflection itself (looks like it's at the the front staircase) and the wallpaper behind it (matching the pattern in the front hallway). So why are there are two identical clocks in the house? Is this why the comment about "the most obvious things" was placed over this shot? It's almost like this clock is watching them. Could the mind flayer be using these clocks to "spy" on people like it used Will? And were these clocks in the house when the family in the 1950s moved in? Or am I just reading way to much into it. Either way, it's fun to speculate.
About the rose: i'm pretty sure it's just a narrative, maybe it's suppose to be creepy...
Yeah I think it's gotta be either a flashlights or some type of wayfinder leading them to the clock. And I noticed the similarities in the clock and made a comment on it but I think it got cut out bc the video was too long but I feel like the downstairs clock won't have any significance compared to the main one but could be wrong. I do like the idea though. If the mf could spy through clocks that'd push more towards the idea of time/time travel. Unlikely but not impossible 👍🏼

I think the “obvious thing” they hinting it is what exactly the clocks mean. They have used time and clocks since the beginning of season one. For example, when el was waking towards the demogorgon in season 1 there was the sound of a clock ticking in the background. In season two when hopper enters the tunnels and the episode ends there is the sound of a clock bell and in season three there were a lot of clock/time references as well. I think time and the upsidedown are connected somehow and I feel like once it is revealed how they are connected it’s going to seem really obvious because of the way the theme of clocks/time was threaded throughout the show.
Yeah but when they did season 1 and 2 they havent even started thinking about season 4 so a connection is unlikely

Maybe they didn't have the plot completely figured out for the remaining seasons but I'm sure the Duffer Brothers would have an idea of where it is headed. It's not Riverdale! 😅
When writing anything, a novel/tv show/movie series, you'd scope out the initial plot before starting otherwise they'd be plot holes everywhere! They signed contracts for 5 seasons when ST started, didn't they? So they knew they were going to have the story go on for that long.

So about the rabbit, I think it's a foreshadowing of what was to come. Rabbits are of course normally known to be shy, sweeet creatures, so a lot of people will be surprised to know that sometimes they randomly...kill all their children. It's not even that uncommon, and both father and mother rabbits have been known to do this.
And in this trailer we see a dead rabbit, then we see the family...and then the father standing over his dead children...I can't help but point this out.
Also, at the top of the clock where the insignia of the company would go I think, there is the word "SILENT". Maybe the clock doesn't chime during upside down related activity? Maybe the chime of the clock has something else to do with the timing? Idk, just something I noticed.

Oh my god, I usually can tell when a shows foreshadowing but I didnt notice that , I think thats such a great reference and I bet this seasons gonna be really good, and the foreshadowing too
if u look at the clock hands in the upside down, they move way faster than in the overworld. Possibly hinting to how time goes differently in the upside down, or time travel.
That does make sense this could be used as an excuse to why the characters have gotten so old if hopper escaped through the upside down portal

So, given the typical way themes run in ST's, we need to go to the time periods of when the show is set... in this case 1986 (?March/April) to get some thematic ideas for the show...
so what big thing was going on in pop culture in early 1986... Nightmare on Elm Street II Freddy's Revenge was released 10 April 1986 where a family moves into a house and the boy is essentially possessed by Freddy to do his killings (with Robert Englund in the show to boot!)
Now lets go to March 1959 - Horror movies of early 1959 that my be related include "House on Haunted Hill (Jan 1959) or "Horrors of the Black Museum (Apr 1959)" - just a theory... would like to know if anyone else is aware of any other 1959 info that could relate.

Yea I think ur right the duffer brothers like to match things with the iconic movies that came in that era so a monster definitely possessed victor into killing his family. That’s a confirmed and let’s say if a demogorgon came and killed his children and wife and left him, wouldn’t victor be like on the floor trying to bring them back to life or call the cops and not just standing there, So the theories about a demogorgon coming and killing them is off
And we've already seen the mind flayer "possessing" people before this so this is nothing new. Maybe Creel was the first person the mind flayer was attached too like Will until he became too old and weak

It’s my theory: when terry Ives was little she had a twin brother and they both were test subjects 1 and 1.5, terry was 1.5 and her twin was 1. Terry’s powers was that she can create dimensions and telekinesis and whenever she creates a dimension she almost passes out like el her twins power is that he can flay peoples minds when they were little her twin was always using his powers for the bad so one day they both have a huge fight and terry creates the upside down and throws him in it and passes out but they don’t know that her twins powers actually enhanced in her dimension and his second power is that he can turn into an shadow figure, the mind flayer and is insanely powerful after that he wants to get revenge on terry and destroy the world and when terry got mk ultra her powers lashed out and caused her to go into her first dimensions and when eleven was born, terrys telekinesis was passed onto eleven
I've been reading people's theories on season 4 in the Stranger Things subreddit, and many people think that Creel is possessed or cursed by the Vecna. It's a Dungeons and Dragons character that I have no expertise on to fully explain (a dead wizard with godlike powers, I think), but pretty much a person gouges out an eye and/or cuts off their left hand and replaces it with the Vecna's eye and/or hand. It gives them powers but makes them evil. Robert Englund mentioned that his character gouges out his eyes, so this fits with the Vecna curse! Sounds very interesting and creepy. Can't wait for season 4!

It does look a lot like a rose that Steve is holding but it would make much more sense if it was a compass because that’s how they found the gate in the first season.

What are the chance that the clock is just a fake. And the clock is to distract you from what is the real thing. It is keeping your mind focused on that instead of what actually needs focus. Just throwing it out there. I might be crazy and the only one. But just throwing different ideas and curious if anyone else has thought something different from the clock.

It's official Robert England will be in season 4 joining the cast. It's amazing how much the younger cast members grew up. And hopper is still alive.

The whole introduction to a 1950s timeline feels like a direct correlation to what was going on in the German series Dark. Time travel would make all kinds of sense, especially with the whole clock motif. I can't wait to see what happens!!!

Hey there, something dawned on me about the rose reflection, could be bonkers however as the gang breaks into the house via brick a stain glass window, it hits the rose which would make it a rose looking shard of glass. At first glance Steve's reflection looks like it's carrying an old flip top phone, however it is more a thin piece of a red colored stained glass, it looks somewhat wrapped as if to keep him from getting cut holding it, and it seems to be guiding him upstairs to what? Where the clock is, the part squeezed out is the center which would be the sliver of stained glass Steve is carrying upstairs with Dustin behind him. I could be off base but tis but an observation. (end commentary for the clock/rose, below is another theory about an Easter egg I may have stumbled across that nobody has noticed that I have read at any rate, if that doesn't interest you and want to stay on topic you can stop reading here, if you continue and can read sheet music please let me know if you can find or figure something else, thank you.)
Another thing from an older trailer that nobody picked up on, and I again could be nuts is the aerial view of the soviet labor camp, there are two sets of tracks upper screen and lower screen, in the middle are strangely positioned soldiers, if you bring the tracks together leaving the soldiers alone you suddenly have the appearance of a piece of sheet music, soldiers are notes etc. I know next to nothing about the mechanics of music yet black lines, dots, on a white (snow) lit background I would love someone who can read music go over a screen shot of that and see what they make of it.
pianist here, you are nuts (and just noticing slight similarities)... I suspect it was simply good cinematography as opposed to a metaphor because there is nothing that could be even slightly compared to symbology and notation other than the tracks, which aren't evenly spaced in the first place, not to mention there aren't enough to form a staff

I am sure someone has probably mentioned this already but its weird the clock is in better condition in the upside down than in the rightside up. Makes me wonder if the part of the big issue with the house is the clocks are not in the dimensions they are supposed to be in.....maybe because it is keeping something inside. And when people go into the upside down the clock starts working, which is bad. Really really bad.

If you listen closely, whenever someone's in the upside down or in sensory deportation, you can hear slight clock ticking from season 1 to season 3
I have a theory that the house is connected in between both worlds i think thats why the family experiencing a "hunting" I think when it's a certain hour it shift into the upside down (hence the importance of the clock) and I think the obvious clue Dustin talking about is the house itself even when the group was in the house you could even see the roof lamp lights on and off indicating that the energy in the house is all over the place it's almost like the conspiracy theory of the Bermuda triangle but in a house lol
I think that the "spirit" that possessed the father is the Mind Flayer because it's the only thing we know that can control minds.

Y’all can we just acknowledge the way Max looked at Lucas after the way he looked at Dustin. I don’t think it’s as big a plot line, but we gotta go over everything. What if, and hear me out, now that Lucas is in hs he’s acting a little too cool for everyone. AND based on set pictures, Max and Dustin have been hanging out with out him with Steve and Nancy. SO MAYBE he’s like a little jealous and Max is annoyed by it. Idk I think their relationship might be strained a little this season
Max has depression due to her brother’s death (based on hints) and Lucas is becoming one of the “cool kids”. Caleb just announced that Lumax will be tested because of those two factors.

Maybe it's a coincidence, but "The Haunting of Hill House" was published in 1959, and I do get a Shirley Jackson vibe (the Ghostbusters pin adds to that angle of spook factor too). It feels like they're referencing "IT" a little too, but I'm just going off very first impressions.
And I definitely think it's going to be released this spring. I'd assume that's when the show is set since that's the pattern its had so far, but springtime and Easter are a time of rebirth i.e. things coming back to life. Maybe this means Hopper will be reunited with Sarah (still hoping my theory about her being the Big Bad is true).
Second impression: I'm pretty confident that the clock theme is a reference to the book "The House with a Clock in Its Walls," which i admit i haven't read in many years, but it does have to do with cancelling the end times, which would also fit in thematically with where it looks like this season of ST is going.
These next few years are going to be amazing for movies and series
with all of the "back to the future" references in the last season, and the clocktower scene being a key climax of the movie, i don't know if this insinuates time travel but i have a hard time believing it's not a reference point for some tin-foil theory we can debate about

That truck Mayflower truck family used for transport from latest teaser. Mayflower is real transport company founded in 1927. Name of compony is taken from infamous ship 'Mayflower' that brought first colonist from England to America. This event started new era. 1st theory- I think in this case the family is British colonist , that upside down related house is America and 'Mayflower' connected them. 2nd theory- Mayflower ship is also famous for Mayflower compact. In this compact/agreement , British colonists formed their governance system onboard of ship. It is ironic that colonists formed government of land that they never even touched without considering native Americans. Mayflower compact is symbol of invasion so I think this mayflower truck indicate invasion of upside down.
Btw this is very clever advertisement of Mayflower compony also. P.S- Little fun fact- Mayflower transit company was also founded in Indiana.
The may flower plant could also be symbolic, and according to a gardening page, it grows thanks to a type of specific fungus, which is interesting to note ("This unusual wildflower grows from a specific type of fungus that nourishes the roots. The seeds of the plant are dispersed by ants, but the plant rarely produces fruit and trailing arbutus wildflowers are nearly impossible to transplant.")
So when the clock cracks, it cracks at four corners and one each second. It may represent season 4 so 4 cracks. Each second that goes by on the clock, makes a crack. Also when you see the middle pop out, at the top middle you can see a text saying "SILENT". I'm not really sure what that means but you guys may have some theories about it. Also, Im not sure if this is a coincidence but at the begining of the trailer when they drive up to the house, the truck says Mayflower on the side. It could represent the rose that was on the door and maybe what he was holding. Another thing is that i realized the picture in the frame on the back wall when he was reading a book. Im not sure what it is because the lamp is blocking most of it but i just wanted to let it out there. (Btw im gonna be adding more the more that i find). Another thing i found is that we the two kids are "dead" on each side, i see one clock on each side on the tables. The left one us a bit hidden. Maybe it has has to do with the clock that made them die. Then, to prove my point, when it goes to the next clip with the house being abandoned, I can't see the clocks on the tables anymore. It seems like they just disappeared. Also, i wonder what he has in his bag on the left pocket that is sticking out. Could it be what they were holding up the stairs? Not sure. Actually scratch that. I think that's just his wakie takie.

When the lights are flickering and the dad is sitting in the reclining chair, there is a painting of something that vaguely looks like the mind flayer. A lamp is obscuring part of it, but maybe its something. Time stamp is 5:24
This season is just gonna be all over the place. Hopper in Russia, the gang at a random creel house that was abandoned in the 1950s, Steve underwater, Eleven getting captured in the desert. Where isn't Stranger Things 4 going to take place?
Maybe the rose is an offering/gift that Victor asked the gang to give to his dead children/wife, like putting flowers on graves ^_^

I'm not sure if anyone else noticed, but when the clock's glass breaks, the smaller (I think seconds) part of the clock seems to be controlling it, as the glass broke just as the arm pointed at it. Not sure if this means anything but just thought I could say it. Also, Max was looking at Lucas kind of funny, a sort of mix of concern and confusion, (maybe just confusion, I'm bad at reading emotions) almost as if he said something that didn't make much sense. I could just be overthinking it and it's really just nothing, but might as well mention it because no other video did.
Lucas looks SO different whereas Max is dressed similarly to s3... I get the feeling they’ve split, maybe Lucas has new friends he’s hanging out with since joining high school?
"papa" having previous experience with the upside-down makes sense cause in season 1 when el is in the salt tank and they hear the demagorden he asks what it is but also seems familiar with it. something I hope they do is bring in more of eleven "siblings". Which draws another question if there were so many how was only eleven left behind they never specifically say they died so it's possible one of the older kids was able to grab a bunch of the others and escape using their power.
Here's my theory:
The first season of Stranger things is set to be in the 1980's. Three decades before that, the Creel family has weird things happening to them including death. Well my theory is that Dr. Brenner is somewhere is his 60's(I could be wrong but I am guessing based on his looks) in season 1 right? Well 60 years before the 1980's was somewhere in the 1920's, which is conveniently 3 decades before the Creel's family death. So I think that Dr. Brenner opened or created the upside down and that is why he experiments on kids with powers because maybe things happened to him or his family when he was a child that lead to him trying to figure it out by experimenting on kids and the upside down.
Edit I realized he was born in 1931 but things still could have happened to his family before he was born, which lead to his family telling stories about it, which then lead to him trying to find out the truth.

I come from a town called Hawkestone in Ontario, Canada. Apparently, Hawkestone is haunted by ghosts of Indians, and turns out that deep in the woods in Hawkestone, there is an old Indian cemetery. People have reported sightings of ghost Indians walking near the water and all of that stuff. Pretty darn interesting...
My theory is that opening the upside down in the 80s also opened it in the 50s somehow. Playing with the past in a way.

I have a theory about the clock. In s1 e6 at about 41:00 when eleven first opens the gate you can hear a clock ticking in the back, and in s2 e4 in the last scene when hopper first finds the tunnels when the music stops the screen goes black and then you can hear a grand fother clock chime. It is crazy that they have been hinting at this the whole time sense season 1! I am so exited about season 4 and to see what the clocks have to do with the upside down! Is it time travel? Idk what do you think
Theory: the upside-down was not created, but unlocked. The clock is the main gateway that allows for travel between dimensions. The clock is stuck at 3am perhaps because that was the hour the family was killed? Or maybe its when the clock first took affect, which explains why 3am is "the witching hour"
For me it looks like he´s carrying on of the wooden dolls with a red hood, that we see in the scene with the girl who look at the dead rabbit. Now with the fourth trailer this makes even more sense, because Joyce unpacked exactly this doll. There have to be a connection.

Something I didn't hear or read anyone mentioning about the clock is that this clock heavily gives off last unicorn vibes. I mean come on, a 'grandfathers clock' as a portal to something dark? Anyone else? And if so, what do you think the collected unicorns stand for? Those kids with powers because they may not really belong here? Right now I can't think of another movie with a clock like that, especially the upside down version. It's basically only missing the gargoyle on top of it and the drunken skeleton on top of the fireplace to not make the reference too blunt and obvious. At least that I feel watching this. I definitely see how this could have been an inspiration.

Dustin says "The world is full of obvious things which nobody by any chance ever observes". The world is full of !OBVIOUS! things. This has to mean that if we really buckle down and OBSERVE all of the obvious stuff, we could figure out more. But people might just try to look at maybe just the clock, or just the family, or just the house, but don't look at JUST something, look at as many things as you can handle. If we all share our thoughts we could uncover some major plot points to the story.

Okay, that rose in the stained glass window, the huge, dark creepy house, the kids creeping up the stairs (with a rose???) And the clock TOTALLY gives me Beauty and the Beast vibes. Is it just me???
