I don't believe that is a negative comment. In comparison to the other budget barefoot shoes, they are comparable. But I could definitely see that they were charging more for novelty. Hopefully, I can source a better price.
I bought the Marugo Jitsuyou with 3 kohaze 3 months ago, but the size I bought was too big for my feet, the kohaze tended to come loose as a result. So I decided to buy the same model but one size smaller and I really like it, they fit me perfectly and the kohaze stay in their place even when running.
I dig these shoes!!! They probably get more attention than the Vibrams or similar type finger shoes. When I’m at the gym, people literally approach me to look at my shoes!!! 😂
I usually wear fivefingers, but I've been disappointed in their failures at making something waterproof. I garden, and traditional rubber boots are so narrow and I often feel unstable, but I have to wash my feet and legs after wearing Vibrams in the garden because they let all the mud in. I'm looking at buying a pair of waterproof tabi from this brand, and it's interesting that they market them towards working in the water. I can imagine them being good for fisherman as feeling the ground is very important when you're on a moving boat and need to keep balance. Anyway, thank you for this, and I'll definitely be ordering a pair. I was recommended a site to use and they have so many options from running shoes, to reinforced toe work boots, all in split toe design.
Hello! I really appreciate the content of your channel! It is helping me recover from my acl operation by showing me ways to better improve my walking and staying away from the dreaded heel strike. Question! Have you ever considered nordic walking (walking with two poles) as a supplement to walking? In my own experience, it has helped me improve my posture and rhythm ( and coordination) of my arm and leg movement. Would like to know your thoughts on this! Thank you!
i have worn them for 35 years. velcro sucks and tabs rule. tabs are far superior and very easy to use. i have thrown shuriken with my feet. i have worn tabi in so many of my samurai and ninja training videos. in the mountains. on horseback. in real samurai armor in the mountains. my tabs never come undone. they should fit like surgical cloves. like socks. if they are loose. go down a half size. i have hiked for miles in the deep mountains of oregon in full samurai armor that weighed 60 pounds. and i am 250 and six foot three. once a person wears them for years. one can hike or do anything in them. and you say who are they for. they are for those who train in classical samurai bujutsu. or for yard work. and other things. that is why the box is not a big deal. you buy them. trash them. use them. buy more. they are not meant to collect. or put back in the box to store. they are for training or working hard.
hey man! love and appreciate the review. would love your input. Im deciding between the rikio jikatabi & marugo matsuri jog 6. not sure which to try out first. thanks
Can you make a video to improve the vertical jump for adults? With forefront walking and understanding of all muscle groups I'm sure you can suggest simple exercises for jumping higher.
I loved jika tabis like ten years ago but lost them a long the way of experimenting with all the new types of barefoot shoes. Time to revisit. I live in Sweden where the winters are cold, wet, snowy and can be really cold like -20c. Is there any types of tabi that has the same barefoot feel but is for extreme weather? I could barely find any that had waterproofing and then they seem to have all that extra support and cushioning that I really don’t want. Like you said they have forgotten the roots and are copying the western fashions
I live in Germany so I didnt want the shipping from your link from the last video. So I searched and found those and I bought the wrong size and it is quite puzzling to me how to close those shoes, couldnt rly find out because I do not fit into them. I have to send them back and I will probably look for some that have a different closing method. Thanks for your review!
Thanks. the closing was an issue for me, too. The wrong size may make it almost impossible to wear, without it coming undone. Try Marugo, they have variations in closure.
If anyone is thinking about buying them just be careful. $50 is an insane markup. They are

i wanna add that i've found work jikatabi boots for 80 bucks on e-bay, so pretty much i agree with what you say

I bought the Rikio JIKA TABI Boots Ninja Shoes High Black Spike spk8 Japan size 10, and it's a world of difference!😍👍🇯🇵

Hard to find any above 12.5. Finally found a pair of “runner” jikatabi at 13.5 but will probably have to take out lots of padding. Super pumped.
Yes, there are few options for larger feet.. I'm glad you found one.

Thanks for the review! Looks like there are limited options for us large footed peoples! 28cm is the largest jikatabi for most models. Bummer.

Do you have a person favorite or top 3 barefoot shoe? Currently, I have vibram evo but was thinking of also trying out the primus lite 3 from vivo
A current favorite is Xero Zelen and also Wildlings has fair prices, and thoughtful design.
@@GrownandHealthy between the xero Zelen and vivo primus lite, which do you think would be “better” for weight training primarily?
@@KremeOnHer zelen. Zelen has a wider toe box and higher durability.
THANK YOU!!!
What kinds of activities beside walking? Run, sprint gym?
Let me tell you my experience with wearing the Jikatabi. I wore them for the gym and now I wear them at my job!

Marugo has a large array of insulated Tabi. But they may not have a model for your coldest weather.

I've always wanted to try these, but the small toe area is way too narrow on all of them.
Is the toe box really narrow?
@@andrewharris9965 no
Have you tried the furoshiki shoes from vibram? If so what is your opinion, ive heard the toe box is slightly narrow
Always wanted to try them.
I heard the same about the toe box.
great video, and at 50 dollars a barefoot shoe that is accessible
have you found any other tabis with better lacing factor?

Shame, big footed gentlemen such as myself are so limited in shoe options. I wish these came in a 14 or 15. Have a blessed day.
Why would it better to not wear socks with these?
Yes, but it may develop an odor.
Do you wear socks ?
No.
Looks like a calmel toe
Lol 😂
