David Moyes On Falling Out With Sir Alex Ferguson

- David Moyes tells a story of when he had an argument with Sir Alex Ferguson after a 4-4 draw between Everton and Manchester United in 2012. Moyes, who was managing Everton at the time, explains that Ferguson felt his team tried harder against Manchester United than against Liverpool the week before in the FA Cup. The draw meant Manchester United lost the Premier League to Manchester City on the final day. #shorts #football #soccer #premierleague #epl #everton #manchesterunited #mancity

That 4-4 killed us man...I'm still bitter about that day
What about playing for a draw at the etihad? Something he said he'd never do. Win that game united win the league. They didn't even have a shot on goal. Parked the bus.
Losing 1-0 to Wigan too, Shaun Maloney with a finish.
@@NECinho so true....that was bad...every midfielder of ours was 30+ ...we played a 4-5-1 with Rooney up-front....David Silva ran rings around our midfield that day
@@anishwaghray3633 the 6-1 didn't help the goal difference either.
I think it says a lot about ferguson he managed to get so much out of united those last 3 years.
I swear, at halftime it was looking good then we threw the game away
It really wasn't that game that cost us the league, Everton were a good team, it was Wigan who cost us the league, a team we should have hammered and we lost 1-0
I remember the commentary on MOTD. "If Wigan were playing like this all season, theu wouldn't be anywhere near the bottom". "If Manchester United were playing like this all season, they wouldn't be anywhere near the top"!
And Wigans goal came from a corner that was actually a goal kick, I remember it clear as day
@@Ese96AgoayeI knew when they said in commentary at the time that United had a 100 % win percentage against Wigan in every single game that would bite us in the arse jynx
@@Ese96AgoayeWigan won at the emirates too. I think a certain roberto martinez was coaching this team
@@MohamedElouarda-qk6ws It was sad to see them relegated days after the FA Cup win.
That damn Steven Pineaar
Ferguson expecting his mates to roll over for him. Also losing at Wigan a few days before and playing for a draw at the Etihad didn't help either.
I think he'd fallout with himself in a phone box 😮
The 6-1 and 1-0 made us win the league not Everton drawing
Aguero won you the league.
You put your watermark on stolen content? Lmao
I love a snag, but that is ridiculous from Fergie! 😂
What is the background music called?
Why did Fergie have such a high opinion of Moyes?
Because he was pound for pound the best manager in the league for a decade.
He was rubbish really..
Got it coz he was a Glaswegain? So is Jackie Mc ?
@@lakmeister talking rubbish. He was pound for pound the best manager in the league for a decade. Had no money and consistently challenged for European places.
Not only did Sir Alex had refs in his pockets but managers of other teams as well lol
Sir Alex a legend 😂😂
Ahhhh, that’s why Moyesy wasn’t transitioned into the Man Utd role while Fergie was still there. 🤦♂️🤦♂️
Just goes to show Liverpool lives rent free in everyone’s head 🫢
This is why man utd were hated , it's not cause they were good , it's because of this mind games and telling his players, its us against the world bs
Things like that hugely contributed to the winning mentality though. The belief that you're bigger and better and you can always find a way to win. Can't argue with the results!
What's wrong with that 😂
@@obedienthusky never said anything was wrong with that , just told you why they were hated,

Absolute narcissist, worked well for him evidently. Just look at the relationships with players
Yeah man, imagine being the most successful manager ever. No one cares because he won stuff, he wouldn’t have lasted a second if he couldn’t back this attitude up with results
Yeah look at how all of his players loved him. Only person who had a problem was Roy Keane who said he wasn’t doing it for the club. Well united went on to have one of their most successful periods after Keane left so there’s that
😂😂narcasist?? Really?? Go study english literature my friend😂😂
Most ex players absolutely adore sir Alex.

Andy Caroll. What a great baller he was. And Skrtel was a top defender.

To all ManU haters: womp womp
He should never have been uniteds manager that still bugs me even today he was dogshit
Moyes the snake
You let city win the league oh you big up you media bullshit it's the Gary show nob
Childish
Whenever i hear that voice i just get so angry... like what was Ferguson thinking when he handpicked Moyes!??
Alex Ferguson invited David Moyes to his home and said, "I'm about to retire, you're the new manager of Manchester United."
No application, no interview.
Moyes wasn't given the time he needed. He over achieved at Everton and has done a brilliant job at West Ham.
He was left with a shit united team Sir Alex left at the perfect time.
@@xazarl3381That same team had just won the league by 11 points, and had a record breaking 20 different goalscorers in the team. The team had all the potential for the next season. But it was not full of great individual names, but Sir Alex knew how to get the best out of them
@@Shadow7758 IT was a team on its last legs that sir alex knew was over and was left with him to deal with.
He had no business managing United, he was out of his depth.
Lmaooooooooo yeah that’s why he’s been on the verge of being sacked every season?
Sir Alex wasn’t wrong. I saw many games where Everton would slapped but somehow every season turned up all the time against United like it was personal 😂
😂and Alex destroy him by giving him the Man Utd job 😂
The ultimate revenge 🤣
Destroyed utd by getting moves in.

That was the expensive wine talking
😂😂😂😂😂😂😂
I remember when my team(West Ham) beat Man U in that year when Leeds overtook them at the end of season. Ferguson was pissed off at our performance because we were already relegated, but played really well.
He described it as "obscene" 😂
When did we (Leeds) ever overtake Man U at the end of a season? lol.
Fergie is, and was, a horrible person. He ruled the league through fear and intimidation.
He made this complaint way back when Wilkinson was our manager, and basically got him sacked. Said the players were "cheating their manager", before we were due to play Newcastle, as we'd given them a game (still lost), but were playing shit generally. It's what led to Keegan's infamous rant. He was trying to elicit a performance from us against Newcastle, so they would win the title. This was during the last few games of the season.
It also led to Wilkinson getting sacked, not long after. But Fergie didn't care about such things. All he cared about was winning.
@@heldinahtmlhell it was the year you last won the league. As I said, we got relegated that year, so beating Man U was one of the few highlights. Great night under the lights at the old Upton Park.

Why are we acting like the 6-1 loss to City didn't lose Utd the league... literally only lost it on goal difference lol
You mean the 1-0 loss at Etihad. The 6-1 was irrelevant as united were already 7 points clear in April.
@@triplebeans4159 didn't affect the GD tho brooooo
Why is anyone acting like a single result cost us the league?
@@pandadoublexl Because it literally did. Just one result in favor(draw to win, loss to draw) would have been much easier than winning by GD.
@@codesm96 it literally didn't. There are 38 games in a season.
People blame Everton for Man City's title win. But my take is this, Manchester United lost home and away against City, including a 6-1 loss. Atleast a draw in one of the matches could have made a whole difference knowing that City was the major Title contenders,
Naturally, i should not loose to you home and away, and expect to end ahead of you on the league table.
Not one United fan I've spoken to blames the Everton game, they always recall the Wigan loss a few day before that as the killer blow 🤷🏽♂️
Fine for Alex to field reserves against west ham though when they're in a relegation batter
Because united had other games to play a lot bigger than that. moyes Everton didn't have a bigger game under moses management than that semi final you absolute low IQ div
And? He "won the league with boys". He trusts his teams.
He played his strongest side ya total prat 🤦♂️🤦♂️🤦♂️
Lol the irony is even if he played his reserve teams he could still fuck up a prime west ham team
Sounds fishy to me
How bloody childish of Ferguson to respond that way
I actually wrote out our results vs Uniteds team by team for that season and Everton really was the only difference.
Wdym
Never liked Moyes since the 4-4. I was counting the days until he got the sack.
This is always the way....
It's like all the stuff about Liverpool BOTTLING it against Chelsea or Palace. They lost or drew to Hull, from a leading position earlier in the year..
*I support Palace. I had a Liverpool supporting housemate (from Hitchen.....) I was bloody unbearable for about 3 weeks.
The League was gone by the time they played Palace, the goal difference was massive had they won 3-0
I was at that game evra hit the post in the last minute to make it 5 4
Alex Ferguson one of the biggest cheats in the game, he basically wanted moyes to throw the game in as many words.
I was at that 4-4 game. From being 3-1 and also 4-2 ahead, I expected nothing more than a comfortable victory. But the United defence that day was brutally bad. Porous and almost non existent. Too complacent. Disappointing result but the players deserved to be taught a lesson that day.
Ferguson wasn’t mad with the result. He was mad that one of his many many minions didn’t genuflect at him and do what he told them to do
Of course he was mad at the result you bender 😂
Yep, had refs on his side too during that period. Wouldn’t speak to journalists who even slightly criticised him.
SAF giving Moyes the United team he did was the perfect revenge for that 4-4 game 😂 genuinely did irreparable damage to his resumé as a manager
Let the man finish Gary
The way Ferguson treated people was abysmal.
Bully...everyone was expected to kiss his arse if they refused they were abused.
Who is people? The majority of his ex players loved him, so do the club staff.
Do you have his number? You guys text each other? If not, you don’t know him.

What a fucking joke. Alex was right, the tactics were fucking dismal against Liverpool even when we were winning.
He was not given a fair chance at United, they should have allowed him some of his transfers and then judged him
The drop of was too big to give him a second chance
Fml you bought fucking afro jack fellaini. He no had chance 😂😂
He also looked like a broken man during his time. The pressure got to him and it wasn't gonna get better.
I’m a Liverpool fan and they was flying in the champions leagues. One could say if they had backed him fully Man U probably won’t be where they are now
He chose fellaini over kroos. He deserved the sack
I left home thinking we were winning that game and then that afro man spoiled the league for us. Same as what happened during Van Gaal's time. I had the same feeling as Alex had. I felt like Everton had a mission against us winning the league.
Sir Alex got his revenge after all
For all Fergie’s success my god did he always play the victim: ‘oooh everyone tries harder against us’. Bore off, they had referees in their pockets for over a decade
Honestly this season was magical to watch, i rememberwatching this on tv with my dad and we were going mental when everton came back for the draw.... Insane !
He was never one for holding grudges, though, right? No glass of wine is worth that contempt.
Ferguson awful man
Im sure we'll find out years after the 115, how many the sheikh gave to moyeseh
Yeah but when man United went away to city it was still in their hands then put in that wet fart of a nothing performance to gift city the league.

Just realised the only reason fergie had wine after matches w managers was so theyd like him & not try as hard against him next time
His mind games. That’s how he wound Kevin Keegan up in 96. Saying the teams were slacking playing Newcastle and only tried against United.
didn't once refer to him as sir
I was there at the 4-4 boss game.

….the uncovering of the use of Enyimba Hotel (right inside the heart of Aba) was something else!
Once Ungoverned spaces are recovered, and the army DO THEIR REAL JOB- of protecting the entire land mass, not where they are covering for Interests!! Nigeria would be on the rise again!!!
With this evidence, while I do not know the oil formula, but Abia needs to reapply for a new determination of the derivatives of Oil & Gas!!!

So many teams rolled over for Utd, usually managed by ex Utd players
Nothing to do with the fact that they had vastly inferior teams to United.

Yea he always felt that teams did that. I mean the infamous Kevin keegan “love it” rant was because Sir Alex did pretty much the same. Lool
Fergie really did set us back giving Moyes the job. Tbf it was United’s fault anyway. Who lets a manager choose their successor?
Nobody was complaining at the time, Moyes did a very good job with very little for Everton. Hindsight is 20/20. Since Ferguson retired, Moyes has the same number of european trophies as United do btw.
Moyes was his last choice after Al the top managers rendered themselves unavailable.
Always thought Fergie threw him under the bus, the team had Tom cleverly and Phil jones starting and owned by Glazers, Fergie left cause he knew even he couldn’t turn it around
Turn it around ? We just won the league and got knocked out to Madrid in CL coz of a shit refereee decision ( Nani red card) he deserved to go out how he did he re built
How many teams for us ?????
Turn what around? He won the league by ten points when he left you absolute salad
Tom Cleverley and Phil Jones, back then, were good players. Particularly Jones. I don't get why people pretend Fergie threw Moyes under the bus where he actually left him with the squad that had just won the title, the new signing of Wilfried Zaha, highly experienced coaching staff (that Moyes promptly sacked), and some potentially decent young players coming through the academy.
@@jacksargeant6672 the team was shit and the structure of the club was shit and teams like city were only getting better he knew he weren’t winning it again so went out on a high
