So to expand on Q8, in the article you outline the following: Week 1: 5 x 80%, 3 x 5 x 75% Week 2: 3 x 85%, 4 x 5 x 75% Week 3: 1-2 x 90%, 5 x 5 x 75% Does this mean the back-off sets are at the same weight (75% of 1RM) for all three weeks? Or is that 75% of the top heavy set? Example squats: Week 1 300x5, 275x5x3; Week 2 315x3, 275x5x4; Week 3 330x1, 275x5x5....or add 5 to the backoffs each week?
Hey Andy if you're only doing your heavy DL on the "light press day "(weds) do you tend to put RDL/SLDL or a DL variation on the same day for back off work or would you put it after your medium day squat (fri) to save your legs for the medium squat day? Thank you sir.
Either way. I usually put most of the DL volume on just one day. If I do "slow" pulling 2 days per week that is fine, but I prefer to have more than 48 hours between those sessions. So like heavy DL on Monday and SLDL on Friday. Or just stick them all on one day as back off sets.
On the "heavy day" have you ever programmed something like 1x5/3-4x5, 1x3/3-4x5, and finished the training cycle with singles across? Just thought something like this might work well for the press or bench, thanks again!!! Thanks for all your youtube content, it's legit!
Hey Andy do you usually do the top set/ back off approach after the LP then move towards a stricter volume cycling (sets across) afterwards or does it really not matter too much? Thank you sir.
I've always been a high work rate athlete. Is 2 days on 1 day off for a HLM kind of program too much? I'm currently doing 3 days on 1 off, then 2 days on 1 off. I've only been delaoding when I burn out. Seems like a light load of work for only going mon, wed, fri. Love the videos, cleared up so much for HLM.
Hey Andy,if you do weekly wave volume cycling for heavy days, are you doing still same reps on light and medium days? For example: if you do week 1: heavy squat 5x5 light squat 3x5 . Week 2 heavy squat 5x4 and light squat doing 3x4 ? Or 3x5 like week 1
How does this dude not have more subs...top shelf...literally teaching programming
I agree! Thanks, glad you enjoyed the vids
Anyone else watching these while on NLP? I'm so looking forward to doing a HLM style program.
This content is absolute gold, thank you Andy!
yup

14:50 important
Hey Andy how to warmup for Medium and Light day variation exercise?

Yeah, that'd probably be fine. I have done similar protocols that basically rotate 5s, 3s, 1s on the heavy day
