Hi Monica. I am 70 years and I so want to thank you for this easy and beautiful pattern blanket. I am crocheting it for grand son. I am new to crochet and again thanks for the relaxing doing of it. Bless your kind instructions and HAPPY EASTER ❤

THANK YOU! You did a fantastic job! This was the easiest, fastest, and best blanket I have ever made! For those struggling without the pattern written out-try pausing the video as you go, and rewinding when necessary. I did this and rewound for the ends until I had it memorized. I made a GIANT version for my husband, pups, and I to share, and it is amaaaaazingly soft!

I just finished mine and it turned out lovely! I did 117 chains (+3 for the turning) and that was pretty sufficient for a larger blanket. I used 6 sheins of the 300g Bernat Blanket yarn and just kept going until they all ran out. Will be making more and will probably buy more sheins in order to make the blanket extra extra extra large :) Thank you, again!

I've been crocheting for years (decades, lol). I've recently been looking for a really simple, and somewhat open (with holes in it) pattern for this beautiful, thick, furry chenille yarn I have. Making a gift for someone. I tried a couple other patterns, but besides being too intricate for this kind of yarn, you can't see most patterns through the fuzziness, anyway, Then I came across your tutorial and I think it's the one! Can't wait to try it with this yarn. Also though, When you held up your own complete afghan, I immediately saw that it is the exact pattern of the blanket my great aunt made for me soooo long ago as a graduation gift! It is even the same color. It was very special to me because she was older and even blind, yet she went through all the trouble to crochet this beautiful - and huge! - blanket for me : ) Somehow, I lost it years ago in a move and I always felt so bad about that. But now, I can recreate it since I see this is the exact pattern! I am grateful for your tutorial and that I stumbled upon it!! Well, I'll recreate it after I make the first blanket w this soft, fuzzy, pale green chenille yarn. Thanks 🙏 😊 Also, it's cool to see younger people getting into crocheting. It's so easy, quick, and it's so rewarding, right? Plus, there are so many gifts you can make for people and they always appreciate a beautiful, handmade gift. Keep on hookin' ; ) ❤

Thanks for this video. I found some super cute chenille yarn (size 6) at the dollar store and it was $1 for 65 yards so I bought 8 figuring that's what I'd spend on yarn. Then I had to decide if I was gonna wrap something or try to learn knitting or crocheting. I did a bit more research then randomly bought a 10mm crochet hook then figured out that kind of stuff mattered so it was a blessing to find this tutorial right away for the exact stuff I already had on hand that was easy to follow. Thank you!

Because at the looks of ur video it looked like you only skipped one..going into the very next hole (welp thats what i am doing, lol) the pattern seems to still match urs. so thank you! ❤

Just started trying to teach myself to crochet. Slip knot no problem, I can do my chains good. I have been practicing SC. Now I am ready to practice DC. I really want to make a baby blanket for my Neice who is due is April. We'll see how it goes. I run into either adding a couple of stitches to losing. Stitch or two along the way. I need to figure out how to keep my rows nice and straight. Think i need some of those row markers for a while. Still I'm motivated so we'll see how things progress.

@@monicamccurdy Is this 6 skeins of the 100g Bernat blanket, or the 300g skeins? And what is the finished size of your blanket. I have 2 x 300g skeins plus 4 x 100g to use. And trying to figure out how many multiples of 9 to work towards for the length

Question. At the end of the 2nd row, around 7:30, it looks like you completely skip a space instead of putting 2 DC in that next space. Then you also skip the last space and put a DC in the chain by that last space. Just want to make sure I’m understanding the pattern and that on row 2, you skip the next to last space and put a DC in that chain.
Also, does the rest of the blanket follow the pattern of row 3, or do we switch back and forth between row 2 and row 3 directions? They are slightly different at the end of those rows.
    Thank you!

She said in the beginning to do multiples of 9, so the size is up to you. So any multiples of 9 and add 3 at the end. In this video, she chained 18 and added 3.
