I love it when Ian goes on a long emotional rant, and Gary just quietly goes to his calm place.

I died laughing when tommy was in the mob and shouted “evil dies tonight” with his finger in the air then he starts running..instantly reminded me of something George Constanza would do😂
Anthony Michael Hall is so damn tough. When the new kids on the block were hanging tough, he was doing his thing in the Breakfast Club and I'm surprised anyone lived to talk about it. I hope he doesn't hear about this, I'll be a dead man.

This film always makes me think of Loomis' line in the first film: "No, if you do that they'll see him on every street corner. They'll look for him in every house."
they never even got that far.
Nobody's EVER managed to capture the coolness and creepiness of Carpenter's original !
Halloween II came close but I agree! The franchise quickly became a parody of itself

It’s impossible. Halloween 2(1981) came the closest .. the first two Halloween’s are the only truly creepy ones.
If you hate Halloween Kills you'll definitely hate Halloween Ends.

Not since the original Halloween II (in my opinion) has there been a decent sequel worthy of the name.
Halloween III was an interesting film but should really have been it's own thing.
If they stuck with John Carpenter's original anthology idea, then Season of the Witch wouldn't feel out of place in the franchise, and we'd have whoknows how many different Halloween movies now. They had the perfect idea right there, but went with "more Michael Myers."
YES! I'm ready to sacrifice Halloween 4 and on for the anthology series. I am morbidly curious what types of films we would've gotten.
There was nothing to stop them from doing both, making an anthology series apart from the Michael Myers movies. Having the "Halloween III" in the title makes it sound like a continuation. They could have just released it as "Halloween Tales: Season of the Witch," and still made money with direct sequels.
Time for a confession - Halloween 3 Season of the Witch is my favourite in the entire series

I think the real meaning behind the title being "Kills", was to actually to kill the franchise. An evil dies tonight was them telling us to stop watching the series and let it die. "Did I just come up with a bunch of crap?", yes just like they did with this movie. Great video
What would be even better? It refers to killing the Michal Myers story and the next movie is a remake of Season of the Witch.

I thought Halloween Ends was considerably better than Kills. Granted, I do think the ending was weak, but I appreciated that they tried to do something a little different.

So while Laurie was the only one traumatized 40 years later by Michael but Lindsey, Tommy, Lonny & Nurse Chambers aren't affected in the least that they still live in Haddonfield.
Realistically, those former three don't know Michael was a force of evil.
The nurse has some idea from Loomis but do you expect Haddonfield to be THAT smart to go "call the military".

I am also a massive Carepnter fan, and I am super greatful he got invloved, gave Green his insight, and made 3 amazing scores that eleveated this new series big time!
Who here thought that Michael was gonna dress in the fire fighter outfit and escape? That would've been great.

This movie and "Ends" blew salty monkey nuts. So does the new Friday the 13th being a prequel tv series on Peacock.
I love Danny McBride. Hand on heart, I believe he and his frequent collaborators - including David Gordon Green - are very capable storytellers. But their Halloween movies are awful. And awful from a writing perspective. Especially in this one, the dialogue is didactic and inhuman.

With that being said, as a diehard Halloween fan myself, I hate to admit it, but I actually enjoyed Halloween Kills. Especially after watching Halloween Ends. I'm starting to appreciate Kills a lot more. Yes, the characters are stupid. Yes, the pacing is horrible. Yes, the story is ridiculous. But what I personally love about Kills, is that it's actually Michael's movie. It's not about the victims or even Lorie herself. Which I think is why she was pushed aside in the film. It's all about Michael Myers going on a killing spree. And the kills ARE the best things about this movie. Also, the film recreating John Carpenter's 1978 Halloween and the guy looking extremely like Donald Pleasence was handle perfectly. Can't complain. But I can see why most fans would hate Kills, I can't even defend the movie much myself. But again, I personally enjoyed it. Happy Halloween Guys!
That's the problem with these film's, they fail to write character's you really care about just poor character development.

Ian is right. They got rid of Michael's background and motivation which makes it hard to keep making films. Unless Michael gets some depth and motivation (even as a silent killer), the movies will deteriorate.
Then people will bitch that they explained too much. You can't continue the story anymore. Michael was shot six times in 1, then burnt to shit in II. That's the end. Everything after 3 is fanfic.

Danny McBride and Gordon green must be simpletons, because the movie is a wet sneeze
As a mindless slasher this is a fun movie for me, as the 2nd film of a new Halloween trilogy it really dropped the ball on what COULD of been and SHOULD of been the majority of the film which is Haddonfield vs Michael Myers. It is just the way it was handled and the lack of it being the total focus was meh at best to me. I think Ian was full of @hit in his rant, tho I will always be happy when people speak their minds whether I agree or not. Agree with Gary the flashback stuff to start the film was amazingly well done and shot.
hope we get an END review soon
Halloween 4, 5, 6, and 7 were all more fun for me even if they weren't great cinema.

I've been waiting for this review for a very long time.
39:00 I doubt any hospital would have the morgue on the first floor with giant windows and the bodies laying there uncovered
The only good thing about this movie was when Jamie shouted in the hospital “Move you F$$king sheep!!!” 😂😂
Other than that, it was horrible. It broke my heart too.

This new trilogy managed to top the stupidity of the earlier sequels. An amazing feat, really. Kills and Ends are, truly, some of the worst movies I have ever seen. Not hyperbole - just the truth. I refuse to believe that actual human beings wrote the scripts. It had to have been a diabolical AI that generated them. A person couldn't come up with something this moronic.
Iain it wasn't Lonnie who Michael grabbed in the original Lonnie ran the other way with his friend. The kid Michael grabbed had a blue jacket on

Can't wait for the next one when they have to say that the original script was thrown out and they rewrote it and added the 4 year time up.
It was original supposed to take place all on one night hence the ending of this film.

Believe it or not, I lived in a house that had a bathroom with a window to the car entrance. So nothing seemed weird to me there 😂
Sometimes you'll also see weird things like that because at some point they built an extension on to the house and just never did away with things like existing windows.

Evil dies tonight will be the most memorable thing from this trilogy. In the future it will be quoted by people who have no idea where it came from.
During that unnecessary "YOU CANT BE IN HERE!" scene the body on the slab can be seen obviously opening and closing his mouth and his eyes are moving behind his eyelids.
I agree H1 and H2 is Halloween to me the rest of them were bad and unnecessary

There appears to be a small continuity error where the nurse shoots herself; the door is open while she's shooting until she gets close to the door when suddenly, it is closed enough to be opened into her. Must be more Myers magic.

I liked Halloween Kills for what it is despite it’s flaws and shortcommings. I feel that this movie was made by people who love John Carpenters original Halloween and I kind of wonder why this love gets so much hate. Anyway we all can agree to disagree on that one I guess.
Guys just wait til you watch Halloween Ends 🙄 I'm like you guys I love Halloween 1978 and Halloween 2 1981. Halloween 2018 was an interesting film but the last 2 have screwed this franchise anally. I'm going to act like only Halloween 1, 2 & 3 exist

Ends makes Kills look decent
Halloween 2018 showed promise for a good return of the franchise, at that time many wanted a sequel, but writers wanted to do something different and instead started to turn it in the wrong direction. The concept of evil inside people, mob mentality, and all that is an interesting idea, but not well developed against the formula of Michael killing around. Is a shame because the production is good, as well as the cast, but the whole thing was damaged by the writing and concept of the movie.

The more time goes on the less angry I am with this movie. I think it will be a hilarious time piece several years later. It will be an enjoyable watch. Where as the one before it and the one after it will just be notches in the franchise.
The first 20 minutes of this film is spot on, all downhill after that, looking forward to the review for Ends, should be interesting guy's 🎃
Edit: If they'd have just chosen someone with the same build as Michael instead of someone who looks like the Penguin, the hospital mob mentality scene would have worked perfectly.
That's the same thing I thought. Why not get the OG to play the escaped patient? It would have made a lot more sense. And by OG, I mean Nick Castle, not Tony Moran.
