Well said Neil. I said it to a young man today. As a 64 year old, I can't pinpoint the moment when the "Government" of any colour or ideaology, decided to stop looking after it's people. Can't see a dentist, holes in the road, police abandoned the streets, huge waiting lists for hospital, litter everywhere, GP's won't see us face to face, import masses of cheap labour to the detriment of training any of the indigenous youth. I am not a communist or even a socialist, but surely an elected Government should look after it's people. Oh, sorry, as you said, you don't have to be elected anymore!

I an 72 years old and have witnessed the declining standard of our politicians over the years. I can now understand why so many people don't vote. For the first time at our last local election I wrote 'None of them' on the ballot paper. In any future general elections I will not be voting Conservative or Labour. Neither Party deserves my vote!

The number of spoilt ballots is counted and read out by the Returning Officer alongside the candidates' votes. If the number of spoilt ballots exceeded that of the winner, politicians might take notice. It certainly beats voting for the lesser of two evils . . .

There is a visible, but rarely discussed pyramid structured societal hierarchy. Western governments now shovel billions of $ to the "public" corporations, mostly in the form of public debt, to create "employment opportunities", "economic growth", and to basically implement the economy. And now the 0.01% global financial "elite" principal owners of those multi-national corporations effectively own and control, not only pretty much all of our other formerly public services and institutions, but now our governments as well. Our Western governments have become servants of money, the corporations and their billionaire owners.
Because "socialism is evil", (well that's what so many of our "greatest thinkers" have insisted we understand isn't it) and "the public sector" can not compete with "the private sector", and because public ownership and control, well that's evil socialism (isn't it), and because capitalism is another word for freedom (n'est-ce pas), and because "the left" became dominated by those apparently fixated on legitimizing various sorts of immorality and perversity (rather than being focussed on economic liberty and the goal of abolishing the owner versus worker class system, - a bit odd no?, and also that secret services infiltrated "left leaning" political organizations) anyway, because we were all propagandized into shunning the idea of government actually employing anyone to do a job that the government could instead contract out to a private sector company / corporation, both the government of Canada and the "pro-business" provincial govt of Quebec (Quebec insisted on having sovereignty over the administration of its internal health care services) contracted out the determination of their covid-19 "pandemic response" policy to the U.S. based McKinsey Consultants Inc.
And well it looks like across almost all of "the Western world" (including Australia etc.) the governments followed WEF controlled WHO scripted protocols (the WEF signed an official partnership agreement with the UN in June 2019, where the UN granted the WEF (a consortium of the thousand or so largest Western corporations and basically a billionaire cabal) extraordinary influence over the operations of the organizations, like the WHO, under the UN umbrella, in exchange for funding).
Have you noticed how "Western" government actions don't seem to have any direct correlation to public desires? How much propaganda was being spewed out onto the domestic populations, regarding the "panicdemic" and then the Russia - Ukraine conflict, and most recently how biased they seemed towards justifying the slaughter of the Palestinians by Netanyahu's government? How the media suppressed reporting on protests and labour strike actions in protest of the genocide, and suppressed reporting on the mass protests in France and the farmers protests across Europe?

And maybe the biggest problem with our governments taking their instructions from, and catering to, the billionaire financial "elite", instead of from the bulk of the population, is that extraordinary wealth seems to engender, or at least is significantly positively correlated to, sociopathy and psychopathy. (as well as sadism).
And also to Satanism, and whether or not the majority of billionaires and their higher ranking servants ever actually take part in Satanic rituals, well I have this "theory" of how one can basically get worldly wealth and power in exchange for one's immortality, where I guess here immortality typically involves some sort of re-incarnation or preservation of one's soul or essence, but anyway, it involves making a deal with the devil.
Well the sociopathy and megalomania and apparent obsession with ensuring that their position of extraordinary privilege and influence will never be threatened, well that is certainly bad enough even without the servitude to Satan aspect, and maybe pointing to Satanism is a little excessive and unnecessary here.
And my main point here is that there is something very rotten at the very apex of our "Western" societal pyramid (where for example, profit opportunity apparently justifies mass murder).
