  • 2021 Ford Bronco Soft Top Demo | SPECIAL Do's & Don'ts
    -With a majority of upcoming Bronco's being shipped with soft tops here is a tutorial how to lower and open your soft top on a 4 door Bronco.
    -DO NOT force or use excessive pull on the side windows as it can rip the seam.
    -DO NO pull the seam on the rear window as it can break the clips off the back which would need to be replaced. (see: 02:17 mark)

    I can't help but pretend they just just found a random Bronco in a parking lot and stopped to make this video. It makes me smile as I watch this.

      I was having the same problem, especially on the driver's side. I'm still not great at it but have found putting downward pressure against the window channel (i.e. pushing "into" the car) can help while trying to slide it along/ into the groove.

    First - thank you for this video. This is one of the best how-tos on how to use this (somewhat complicated) top.
    Second - since I presume the two of you have EXTENSIVE experience using these tops out on the road...have you encountered anything like what my top is doing? While it seems to align and latch properly when closed, once I go ahead and lower it fully and try to latch it in the down position, the passenger side latch is reluctant to engage. I can coax it by hand to do so, but if I do, the release lever on the driver's side is EXTREMELY difficult to push down when it comes time to raise things up. Like, both of my hands squeezing it down.
    Have you encountered anything similar? Do you know what I should attempt to try, or know of anyone who would know what to adjust? I've already paid for access to the Ford factory service information; there is bupkis in there about adjusting the top for these situations...leaving me up a creek without a paddle, so to speak...

    • @OurBroncoLife
      @OurBroncoLife  2 роки тому

      Thanks for the feedback! Glad the video could help. Agree it can be complicated 😎.
      That’s interesting what it’s doing. Based on our experience we haven’t had in be that difficult to unlock from down position. Sometimes we have to be carful when putting it all the way down so it doesn’t hit the roll bars and scratch it. I know our friends sticker fab have a vinyl protector for that area just in case.
      We haven’t had any experience physically adjusting them. Have you or plan to remove the top completely?? The 3 large bolts on each side and go topless completely this summer? I’m curious if you do that then replace it, it make realign better with even tightening of the bolts.

    • @etmccaus
      @etmccaus 2 роки тому +1

      @@OurBroncoLife Well, it seems the bar was scratched from the factory, so that's water under the bridge... :-(
      I don't plan on removing the top completely. I did notice after bringing it home that the passenger side mount bracket with the three bolts wasn't fully seated against the location pin, which Ford says is a must. I loosened the bolts and improved that fit - but I'm still where we're at.
      The plate that holds the latch that serves as either the mid-bar latch or the folded top latch, depending on position, apparently offers some adjustment...but will likely be a cat-and-mouse affair, one that likely has me removing my security enclosure lid. Which...oof, that was fun just installing it.

    Is this soft top water prove or water resistant, if you were caught in a bad storm and it was raining hard would it leak in??? Also in the winter time and it was snowing but warm enough to melt the snow would the snow/water come in through the top that way??? • @OurBroncoLife
      @OurBroncoLife  2 роки тому +1

      Our experiences with the soft top is no leaking. Even in the heaviest of storms. In snow we would use the brush to brush off the snow on the roof, don’t use the brush on plastic windows it could scratch then. Use a soft cloth or your hand. The soft is plenty warm, durable, and safe - just be gentle with it.

    great video. I have a 2022 4 door Badlands Bronco and this weekend was my first time taking the top down. it was pretty simple truly but i will say when i put it back on, i put the back window and the side windows on and when i went to snap the front down at the windshield it was not reaching correctly. i had to go back and remove the side windows and get the middle to snap and lock, then put the windows on and the front aligned after that. unsure why that happened?? so if someone has trouble like i did, put the windows on after making sure the middle is snapped in place first. it was almost like there was too much tension from the back pulling it back and the middle snap down would not connect correctly? it may do better once its been off and on a few times.

      @@OurBroncoLife thanks for the informative video and answer. I dig the Bronco, but I wonder why would they make a soft top that doesn’t do what the Wrangler can? (Unzip the rear window, roll it up, tie it). They’ve had years to look at that example…. Disappointing, because I know there’s issues with the hard top too. Most people probably won’t care, just odd to me they didn’t nail it.

      Agree. Wish it was an option to do that. For what it’s worth the accessory option top for the Bronco by BESTOP has that rear window roll capability.
