This gives me a whole new perspective for Diesels. Not only steam engines were getting scrapped, diesels are getting scrapped as well. I love and respect both steam and Diesels
“They may sneer, but their Days in the Sun are numbered. Soon, there will be no need for their kind at all. They’ve seen them new diesels about; the next step is Them.” -Ferrus (Crossed Lines Reference)
From 17:26 to 20:52 is a prime example of not just good writing, but a prime example of not just acceptance, but of how you tackle prejudice, with educated affection and kindness.
I'm going to show you something wonderful. Diesels.. screaming for mercy. You want to revolutionize the world, but you don't want it to change.. you're all puppets.. tangled in strings.. I had strings, but now I'm free.. THERE ARE NO STRINGS ON ME. - Reginald
This was well worth the wait. It's really nice to see portrayal of diesel engines having a taste of what it's like to be withdrawn and scrapped. I really love your Modernization Trilogy Mr. A. Also your portrayal of Frankie acts like an even more devious version of Diesel.
I now understand why the Diesels were so mean to the steam engines. British Rail spoiled them like a rich parent to a kid. And now they are old and facing the death penalty. I’m glad Ted, Andy and Johnny got preserved. And for reference, The 3 do indeed exist at the East Lancashire Railway.
That was the awesome sequel that I have ever watched! Great work along with your pals for making this sequel, I give all of my respect towards you and the others.
22:19 Love the transformers 4 reference from lockdown just before he kills ratchet 34:59 The lion king reference too LOL diesel 10 saying the line too is just so right
I found Frankie both creepy and hilarious. Pip and Emma were funny too. I also thought it nice that the D261 and D199 changed from antagonists to protagonists.
Sure was fun to voice Pip in my Rainbow Dash voice. 🌈 But holy crap... did I tremble over Reginald’s debut in this movie! That hypnosis scene upon D10 was chilling as well as the ending scene. 🌀.🌀 I so can’t wait to introduce him to my own coming stories of Liz’s Journey. As to everyone else’s performance and story, it has certainly been quite a ride. Sad that it’s the final chapter of the trilogy, but that doesn’t stop what’s to come later in Season 2.
I can actually imagine Pip having a Rainbow Dash voice. It totally suits her personality. And with Geoffrey now a mercenary working for BR and Reginald a deranged hypnotic engine hell-bent on the extinction of diesels, how I expect this to end will be in great tragedy
The reason they're not being hunted down as much like the steam engines is because they're still diesels and most just brush them off, it's a lot more of an easy escape than the steam engines. You also have to feel sorry for Nicholas, his friend Serena got her wheels ripped off because of a dead diesel, got separated from Serena, bullied by Harrison, on the run for years with most likely life threatening moments and now being forced to work at a iron works otherwise he'll be thrown out and abandoned again not to mention not knowing his friends fates such as Serena.
A very under explored idea in Thomas fan media. The themes of revolution and evolution/modernisation play well into this film, and obviously the irony of it all. Very well done. I think a lot more in this time era (late 70s onwards) could be explored by Thomas fans; the mass introduction of electric engines, emissions and climate change, union strikes, privatisation, and more. Would love to see more takes on this and peoples thoughts!
Great work on this new special! I loved seeing how the tables turned from Steam Engines getting withdrawn and scrapped to Diesels getting withdrawn and scrapped. I love seeing the dynamic and interactions of the diesels, which possibly gives us a foreshadowing to the 1990s in this series. Congrats on the voice acting, btw.
Mate you did a great job! It was so interesting seeing the diesels being put in steames place and worrying about scrap. And boy was a treat seeing Nicholas again! This was absolutely awesome!
So that’s it 3 years and this modernization trilogy comes to an end. I must say this was an amazing ride to be apart of I was there for all three premiers each one was better than the last. These where more special to me because it felt like an unintentional and coincidental birthday gift for me and always got me excited. But enough about me about the film. Absolutely spectacular If i’m correct I’m pretty sure you are the first person to properly establish the fact that first generation of diesels would be scrapped and that they are now just as wise as there predecessors, on youtube that is, which was a nice touch. you shed some light on engines we wondered what happened to them in the previous movies and shed light on ones who thought there days were numbered and the ones who couldn’t expect the fact that change was coming and they couldn’t avoid it. Can I also point out how certain easter eggs that aren’t even in your TAOS like I don’t know Andy and Ted i’ve been around this community long enough to know where you got those names from, but not old stuck I thought for sure it would have been Patrick, but a well that name the name you gave him and it does suit him. My final thoughts, there are still some mysteries to be solved but in time they will come out like all the OC’s for a start and Let’s not for get Reginald the jungle book snake of movie a great concept. I never thought of, how an engine figures out hypnosis is beyond me, but a clever idea liz came up with I hope we get to know more about him. There are only two Things left to say 1. An absolutely smash of a movie and 2. since this movie series is cannon to your TAOS I would love it if you can explain to me how engines once on sodor that they can break the laws of physics. like punching an engine in the face or texting one another. please explain that to me. But then again you were consistent like for example it was realistic when you took the fight over to the mainland so I do appreciate the consistency on that point.
So the message of this modernisation trilogy is that on the mainland everything is serious, and on Sodor you can grow hands out your buffers and grow hair out ur face
Yes apparently in the final years I mentioned in my version that 24035 and 24047 end up at Crewe but in this RWS timeline December 13th 1978 the story is differed and Eustace escapes from Crewe and also along the way rescues Br class 52 Western no. D1033 ‘Western Trooper’ and I would assume a BR Class 02 Shunter joins them named Sedgwick. The three would find a way to Sodor and ‘Western Trooper’ would have a real name and ‘Sedgwick’ would get stationed as the Farquhar shunter rostered alongside Mavis and Toby on Thomas’s Branchline. I would have to help provide inspired concept for the story itself and Eustace how he manages to find a way to Sodor.
This was beautiful! It was sad and a little scary but it was amazing! Also some parts of this was so funny (like when Nickolas almost cursed 😂) I loved this. But I wish it was longer. Can't wait for TAOS season 2! You did an amazing job! (Also 31:07 she said that with a smile on her face. She's a scary girl)
This is amazing Adam I've enjoyed the first two movies of course but it's interested to see how diesels are dealing with being scrapped. At the same time though there are some plot holes about what happened to a few the engines in the last movie. But I don't care as I really enjoyed this keep up the good work man.
This gives me a whole new perspective for Diesels. Not only steam engines were getting scrapped, diesels are getting scrapped as well. I love and respect both steam and Diesels
Yeah the twins. Br 10000.10001. Got scrapped even though there was an attempt to preserve the first two mainline diesels in the UK I liked those two
we all thought diesels were our enemies.. But the true mastermind were electrics
Well, it’s a cycle. The electrics may also be seen obsolete one day

Wait a minute did you mention the same comment on the 1970 video
From 17:26 to 20:52 is a prime example of not just good writing, but a prime example of not just acceptance, but of how you tackle prejudice, with educated affection and kindness.
Yeah
Thomas needs morals like this
Geoffrey: A mercenary working for BR
Reginald: A deranged hypnotic engine hell-bent on the extinction of diesels
Reginald is a ultron reference hell - bent on the extinction of all avengers.
I thought Reginald was just a old scrap yard engine gone mad bonkers learning the truth about his existence
Yeah I know it's just any engine that spends over 2 decades in a scrap yard needs a mental health plan especially before and after resto
When did he say that his name was Reginald?
@@roaropgard8575 How do you know??
I like how diesel 10 and Splodge just went away with no regrets
that Bridlington Steelworks scene was pure gold especially when Frankie saves Nickolas and immediately turns evil towards him lol
This is awesome. Plus at least it's shows what became of Nickolas after 1969.
Poor Nickolas. I really hope he escapes w/ Merlin, Theo and Lexi
Let’s give Nickolas a moustache and he can sneak out easily.

Same
Funny how 199/Ted's nightmare was the Nuclear Flask test British rails actually did!
Yeah
i believe D199 is based off a 44/45/46 ''peak'' locomotive, the same type of engine that took part in the test
That was a very epik reference

This is definitely worth the wait! Nice work on the Modernisation trilogy Adam! :D
And it's an honor voicing Dodge in the special!
When are you coming back???
1986: The year when Diesel traction starts suffering the same fate as their steam breathing predecessors.
i bet that this is gonna be awesome like the other 2 films, and it will change everything for the diesel engines lives.
It premieres in 28 minutes but it already has 270 likes lol

It was very good
That was impressive for all 4 i will rate them an 10/10
We need more stories like this about snotty diesels finding out the hard way that progression will never stop
That special was brilliant, that has to be the best special ever, that the truth, that even deisels can be replaced as well not just steam engines
1990: A Realization
1994: Reflection of Memories
2014: Reunited for a time
The first time we saw Geoffrey he used a line from transformers 4
I KNOW THAT LINE!!!!!
That was a very dark special, well done to everyone who took part in this video!

Amazing job on this 1986 special video! Everyone did a great job with their roles here!💙
anyway, can't wait to see this soon.

I like your Pip voice Liz you outdid her character in 1986 by making her character strongly similar to Rainbow Dash’s character in MLP.

Fantastic! I truly felt the irony for the diesels. Along with the heart felt moment of thier bond. Very well done.
I swear Reginald better be coming back, because he is excellent villain material. Also the Disney references are strong with him.
