- Poppy playtime chapter 3 had a crazy scene when Dogday was Possesed by the prototype to chase us and attack the protagonist. In today's video we breakdown what happened to Dogday and what it means for the future of the franchise.
Catnap and the prototype have always had a weird relationship but how does it play into the story and the hour of joy? How does the ending explain what we will face in poppy playtime 4? Why did the smiling critters want to stop them and what happened to them when they got in the way?

I felt so bad for Dogday, I wished we could have possibly saved him and he'd join us kind of like Poppy and Kissy Missy, but it also wasn't so great to have the rest of the Smiling Critters not be able to be seen in the game. I think it would have been way cooler to have more then one of them and not just Dogday, Catnap or the little ones which don't get me wrong, were insanely creepy, but still weren't the same as seeing Dogday at full size. Though another thing people have been pointing out is you could say what sort of happened to him was hinted at in the cartoon that was shown. Since at the end when all the critters were knocked out (aside from Catnap) Dogday's position on the couch mirrored his arms stretched out, and his legs were covered imitating him missing them in the actual game. Just was an interesting detail that people noticed at one point
i think there is a fan game where you save catnap and dogday which i would download because dogday is my favorite
Wish you had the option to carry dog day out and while he tells you why you should’ve left him, Poppy tells him he’s an ally who can help.
@@LucianAlderman that would be cool to see, I love Dogday, even though he was only on screen for a few minutes, that was probably the most brutal thing shown in the game so far in my opinion, and that's counting watching Mommy Long Legs getting caught in gears cause that was pretty bad too.
I honestly would still have loved to see how the rest of the smiling critters would have looked. Like there is a bit of a range on how they appear it seems, since Dogday was more similar in appearance to like how Huggy was, while Catnap very much was different.
@@P.H691 And being able to carry Dogday out to save him definitely would have been great, because we basically just left him to die, since people also have pointed out (I tend to listen to a lot of theory videos of games cause I like to hear people's opinions) one person thought that it didn't fully sound like Dogday was dead yet when they were messing with his body. I know it kind of got mentioned in Rex's video that he's possessed instead of fully dead, but someone else pointed out that I saw somewhere the sounds he was making did not sound like the little critters that they sounded more like someone gasping for air and life so they think he might have been still alive, at least for a little while. Which I don't know but also adds to the we should have been able to save him instead of abandoning him like that! Hearing him potentially telling us to abandon him and leave him behind while we still drag him along with us to safety, that would have probably been a better thing, and a better segment, since you'd likely in something like that would be moving slower, and trying to get away from the small little critters. That actually would have been a bit creepier then just a regular chase sequence that we already kind of had with Miss Delight at that point.

I'm honestly curious about how exactly Dogday knows about us. We can assume he has been locked up for a good while, and Poppy was only freed recently herself from her cage, and yet Dogday connects us to Poppy and calls us her "angel". That suggests that before they both were captured, Poppy discussed us with Dogday. Maybe that is how they got captured by the Prototype and Catnap in the first place? Maybe THEY had worked together (along with presumably Ollie and Kissy Missy) to get the message from the opening to us in the first place? But why? What is so special about our character that Poppy and Dogday risked their lives just to get a message to us as if knowing that we'd follow it?
I feel bad for alot of the people and toys in this game but Dogday didn't need to go out like that. Poor guy.
I got the feeling that like Theodore Granbell the smiling critters were all children initially, and so DogDay's deeper voice I assumed was because the child in him had grown up since the time of his creation and the events of chapter 3, but that's just how I see it
Or a voice box, don’t you think it would be weird if a child started talking out of one of the smiling critters, surely that would raise a lot of eyebrows?
Or like his voice box has gotten damaged or rusty over the years
There's something very satisfying in Dogday's voice.

Catnap also had an adult voice too even though he's a kid so the voice evidence is kinda not completely full proof there

You do know kids GROW UP and that they also use voice boxes, not actual children’s voices? It would be extremely weird and people themselves would find it weird if they started talking like a child.

In the cartoon DogDay is asleep the way he is hung up. He is also to the right of CatNap maybe meaning he was his right hand man and he is the last one left alive. This could mean that maybe DogDay eventually saw through CatNap and tried to help but in the end he was just tortured and kept alive the longest to bring the most pain to him because of his betrayal
And the blanket is covering his legs.
5:48 i got this far in and I have to say, that doesn’t sound realistic at all. The little critters that went into dog day simply banded together and take control of dog days corpse, because he died immediately after all the critters got into him, so it was the critters chasing us in dog days body, the prototype can’t use the red gas for influence, he just is very manipulative. Catnap fears the prototype so he worships him saying he’ll free them.
Yeah I didn't really ever thought of this as possession. I just thought it was like a cleaver and grotesque way of the critters eating his insides, then using his corpse as a puppet. "Evil" Dogday is just a dead body fully of critters, kind of like how Oogie Boogie is full of bugs and he's actually just the bugs or something like that.

Catnap doesn't fear the prototype, the reason he's worshipping the prototype is because it saved him when he was close to dying, giving up it's own freedom in the process just to save Theodore.
@@Wiko-cz6gh this bugs me a lot, because we've been fed the tale that the prototype is the main villain, a monster that won't stop at anything to get what he wants, and Catnap is a cult mongering stone cold killer that wom miss an opportunity to kill heathens. And yet the prototype gave up his freedom to save what was basically a random kid, and Catnap sure as help missed multiple opportunities to get rid of the protag. Between the two 'factions' inside the playco... One of them is lying

The ones with the adult minds where able to resist longer but still got broken down and tortured till they were subdued but eventually died or they were able to control cause there sanity is gone
i have some theories:
Ollie is the prototype, but this also doesnt work as Ollie tries and helps us and eventually leads to defeating catnap and all that
next is that Huggy Wuggy is still alive and that he is the one that killed Kissy at the end.
and last dogday is definitely a grown man due to the way he talks with us, and that it indeed is Doctor White as he is a new character to this thing
My thought is the mini Smiling Critters take control of DogDay's arms and later hijacking the entirety body.

Catnap voice is literally a old man voice no joke but catnap a kid and that it does sound so unlikely that dogday would sound like a older person
I have a theory(?) that Ollie isn’t the Prototype or another toy/orphan, but some hacker kid who broke into the system and found forbidden info.
Maybe the only reason cat nap didn't kill dog day is because he still has some connections to him is the Prototype good just said he's useless so just kill him but if catnap still had connections then he wouldn't want dog day to die he would want him to stay alive even if he's suffering he might believe that living and being tortured is better than dying
in cartoon series of poppy playtime you can see DogDay is in the exact same way that Dogday without his legs is the same thing

On his cutout line we can not visually hear his legs b%ieg getting cut of almost cut of and the legs being fallen to1 the ground and his screams were the longest to the surprises to make it more disturbing and more horrific 😢😢

Another interesting thing is, with the cutouts, the ones with screams at the end are most likely dead. Like Kickin Chicken. But the thing is, Bobby Bearhug, Picky Piggy, and Crafty Corn do not have screams. With Crafty Corn, she must have stayed alive for a bit longer, as she was most likely the one to write in the vents when we are being chased by huggy, but, was eaten by Picky Piggy, who most likely ate Kickin Chicken, Bubba, and as stated before, Crafty Corn. As she says in her cutout: “Seared Elephant, Grilled Chicken, and Flayed Unicorn.” She must have ate those 3. As for Bobby Bearhug, she is still alive, as there is not a scream at the end. She also remembers us, and asks us to take her with us the next time, also saying that shes “lost.” This indicates that she knows who we are, and she might have given us the idea to leave the factory before the “Hour of Joy.” Also, she is most likely hiding out somewhere, if she is still alive (hopefully.) Picky Piggy is most likely alive too, as there is no scream, and she said she was still hungry, and asked us to be friends. The next chapter is rumored to be in a fairground type setting, as for one of the posters showed. (Not confirmed.)

Damn this is a good theory. Maybe Crafty Corn was asking for red because they were using it for the poppy flower near the entrance and the warnings, and that's why red is the one that ran out, and then she gets eaten by Picky Piggy.
This is a good theory but picky also says hmm roast beef which is pig. I believe that she probably ate herself after eating the others. I also believe that the bear isn’t referring to us but possibly DogDay as he was the leader and probably was the one who lead they’re failed attempt at escaping

I like to think of DogDay as a kind of rival to CatNap, at least when all the critters were still alive. DogDAY, CatNAP, day/night, DogDay was the leader of the critters but CatNap takes them away from DogDay, etc etc
The foreshadowing in the cartoon of dogdays last position on the couch with a blanket covering his lower half was crazy. Telling us he would be missing that second half later on
in the ending of the cartoon, Dogday is the only one on the couch with catnapt and his arms are spread out while his lower half is covered with a blanket. Just like how he is the last smilling critter and is chained up and missing his lower half.
I like that DogDay's pose at the end of the smiling critters animation sort of mimics his pose before the little critters crawled inside of him. The way his head is lowered with his arms spread out. In the animation, due to laying his arms against the couch back and arm rest, and in reality because he's shackled.
I think dog ray is the guy that was on the tape that said the kids needed to see sunlight cuz he was against the play care and didn’t like it and they sound alike

I think the smiling critter cutout voice lines are them trying to leave and all of them getting caught by catnap.
I think Ollie is the prototype because he knows where you are going, he knows where you will be going next, and Catnap is always watching you, and he's always in every building and he keeps be where you are, and Ollie knows what happened to catnap and tells you the story of why he worships the prototype.
Yeah and at the end when you defeat catnap he doesn’t call you the rest of the game the prototype even wanders around now and and kills kissy missy he was probably busy trying to get to them after he killed catnap Ollie should’ve called but if he is the prototype we would hear his voice and that would give him away so he’s most likely the prototype
It doesn’t make sense for Ollie to want to lure us into the basement when the prototype specifically gets all the toys to plead with us to not continue going and to ‘leave.’
It does if he thinks he's luring us into a trap, or if he maybe wanted rid of catnap but didn't want to do it himself. Catnap seems like a loose cannon with what happened with the other smiling critters, who were originally children, like catnap himself, if the prototype was trying to protect the children in any way, that doesn't seem like it was necessarily part of the plan. But also the prototype seems to want/not care if all of the bigger bodies are dead, he just adds them to himself, the only bigger body that tells us to leave is mommy and she doesn't keep that energy, she wants to "play" with you.
But Ollie could be someone else, who knows, we won't until Mob tells us.
He can’t be because poppy doesn’t like the prototype and blames him for everything that happened and if Ollie was the prototype than poppy wouldn’t work with him plus it’s sounds like poppy seems to personally know Ollie so he can’t be the prototype
"Nothing left to save. Not HERE." Which means we do have someone to save and I dont think its Poppy could be Kissy but how would Dogday know she's alive. Also why tf did Catnap just allow Kissy to live. Like she just roamed around till we came. That's when something attacked her. But why wasn't she attacked before?
my theory is that catnap didnt kill dogday beacouse he was friends or somewhat known dogday before the hour of joy, he was left alive unlike the other ones of the smiling critters beacouse of that. The rest of the smiling critters can be heard dying or getting killed in the game from cardboard cutouts, so that means that they were trying to escape or they didnt obey the prototypes orders or they were trying to help the other not transformed children escape the facility.
The Piggy from the Smiling Critters ate everyone else in the group but DogDay & CatNap. Their cardboard cutout even says it.

This chapter honestly disappointed me. It was more puzzles than horror. But when there was chase scenes or horror. It was done rllly well like allways I liked how in chapter 2 we did puzzles while the monsters were a part of it
