- The San Diego Padres 2023 has officially come to a close as they end the season winning 15 of their last 18 games to end the season 82-80, missing the postseason and ultimately falling short of their lofty goals of winning their first World Series Championship.
A solid group of Friar Faithful (San Diego Padres fans) where outside Petco Park to welcome the players back from Chicago after sweeping the @whitesox to close out the season. Ha-Seong Kim continues to show why he is beloved amongst Padres fans and just about everybody in San Diego, a Happy Birthday serenade breaks out for Xander Bogaerts as he celebrates his 31st birthday and Ji-Man Choi jokes around with fans as he signs autographs. Great commitment to bringing videos to the fans all season Chad. Padres fans are the most loyal of all selling out Petco Park all season. Although they have missed the playoffs, the Padres were the hottest team in September with a 20-7 record. If they continue that form they will be playoff contenders again. Good to read Peter Seidler's statement that he expects the current management to be back in 2024.😀
It sure would of been nice if they played the entire season like they did in September, we’d be getting preparing for the postseason right now! I sure hope Bob Melvin is the manager in 2024, I think he deserves to finish out his contract in San Diego! So many reports are coming out about what this team is going to look like in 2024 so it’ll be interesting to see how it all plays out. Either way I hope 2024 will be a step in the right direction and I can’t wait for it!!!

It was strange but Blake Snell, Machado, Darvish and Tatis all were not on the team bus, so they were completely MIA last night l,which was was shame and many of the fans, myself included were looking forward to seeing Tati and company one last time this season!!!

Best of luck on the board exam, that will be so awesome for you will you pass the test. Do you think you’ll be going to Spring Training? I was thinking of going out there and trying to get some cool behind the scenes videos with the players if everything works out. Spring Training is so fun because the players are usually a lot more chilled out and relaxed than during the regular season. I am also really curious to see what the team will look like next season with all the free agents going their separated ways and with all the rumors of Soto being traded, it shall be an interesting offseason!!! 👀🍿

About the spring training, my goal is march 2nd in Scottsdale - would’ve been better if Gabe didn’t get fired bc they’re playing the SF Giants. Ugh. @@gfayethholy crap, I still can’t believe Kapler got fired! Being an MLB Manager these days is rough, the franchises just don’t have the patience with mangers like they used to! I don’t see him staying unemployed for very long though, he seems to be a pretty smart baseball mind and still really young when it comes to other managers. You’d probably lose your mind if he one day became the Padres manager haha!

If only Preller was better at managing the payroll and not addicted to overpaying for players with all these max contracts. Just think how much better of a spot they’d be in money wise if they didn’t commit so much money and years to another SS in Bogey for example and allocated that money to fill holes that needed to be filled and spread it out to various players. Going to be an interesting offseason to say the least, get your popcorn ready!
