Jett bro just hear me out,before finishing chapter 6,complete the secret/true ending of the game,biggest challenge of the entire game but rewards are SOOO worth it ,you just gotta complete all of the secret locations in chapter 1,2,4,and 5 ,complete the treasure hunter side quest,chapter 3 secret place can only be unlocked by doing so.then go to the pagoda realm snow vielded trial,there go backwards across the bridge and down the path to the small tower,go left up the snow to see a foggy door and if you completed all the steps and side quest you will be able to enter through to meet a familiar person who gives you access to the secret area to meet the toughest boss yet,which leads to the true ending of the game,and you can still compete the rest of the game afterwards,you’ll just be much more prepared for it and get the good ending,just something for you to know if you wanna check it out bro 👍 good luck 😃

Basically for all the chapters in Black Myth Wukong, it is all about actions and consequences from the party's Journey to the West, both before and after. Because the story of this game take place after the Journey, this game can be considered a sequel to the original story. To get a hang of the backstory going on in the background, you will need a lot of lore knowledge from the novel, so whatever I'm explaining is going to be long. In the original story, before Wukong began his Journey, he was a monkey with no impulse control and acted as he pleased. Basically, what happens when you give a child unlimited power, freedom and no role model to discipline him and correct his actions, because Wukong was born from a rock that had absorbed the essence of ying, yang, heaven, earth, sun and moon (he burst out of the rock like it was an egg), and thus had no parents. His actions got him in trouble with the Celestial Court. When mortals attain Godhood and ascend to divinity, they will ascend and live in the Celestial Heaven, and within this Celestial Heaven it is governed like your typical ancient Chinese monarchy court. The Jade Emperor is the one in charge of the Celestial Heaven, which is actually the Lower Heaven, which the true Immortals from Upper Heaven put him in charge. You can think of the deities as "fake Gods", as what they actually had that they call "immortality" is actually an extension to their life spans, and they must keep extending their divinity and life span by consuming pills and other Divine items, until hopefully they can ascend as a true Immortal that doesn't require such items to artificially extend their lives and divinities. When Wukong was angry at the Celestial Court for not inviting him to a banquet, he ate all the Divine Peaches for the banquet and Divine Pills as retaliation. The Celestial Court assembled an army of 100,000 Celestial troops (each soldier is essentially a form of low level God) to capture Wukong. Wukong was captured by Erlang Shen with the help of Tai Shang Lao Jun who is the God in charge of manufacturing and concocting Divine Pills. The Court tried to execute Wukong but nothing worked, and so Tai Shang Lao Jun thought of using his Pill Refining Furnace to refine Wukong into a pill. A Pill Refining Furnace works by burning away at the impurities of an object, leaving only its true essence behind, which is then used as ingredient for pills. The fire within this Furnace is the Samadhi Fire which is especially potent, cannot be put out by any means and has such purifying properties. Wukong was trapped in this furnace to burn for 49 days, but what Tai Shang Lao Jun failed to consider was that Wukong was a being born from the pure ying, yang, heaven and earth essence, and as such he was a being mainly made up of pure essence and had little to no impurities to burn. What the furnace did instead was to remove the impurities in Wukong, making him more pure and powerful instead (Chinese have a belief that if you remove all the impurities in your body, your body will function fundamentally superior due to the foundation of your body being stronger and purer with no impurities to weaken you). Wukong emerged from the furnace after 49 days and kicked it over, spilling the Samadhi Fire down to Earth. The Samadhi Fire landed on this particular land in Chapter 5, creating the Fiery Fire Mountain (Flaming Mountain) range. The servants of Tai Shang Lao Jun who were supposed to be watching over his residence and fanning the fire of the furnace were blamed and punished for failing to keep watch over the abode and letting Wukong enter and devour all the Divine Pills prior. This is unfair punishment in my opinion, because what can 2 little servant boy and girl do against the almighty Wukong? He just used magic to put them to sleep and proceeded to devour all the Pills. Tao Shang Lao Jun probably used them as scapegoats to save face for failing to kill Wukong and made him more powerful instead with his idea of using the Furnace. They were banished to Fiery Fire Mountain to tend to the aftermath of Wukong's rampage. The girl in charge of fanning the furnace was Rakshasi, and now had to fan away the flames with her magic fan yearly at Fiery Fire Mountain, earning her the moniker of Iron Fan Princess. The watcher of the furnace to make sure the fire is always burning was made to keep watch over the land as the local land God (A land God is a very low level God. They're even lower in position than the foot soldiers you see from Heaven. He literally went from being a position of envy as the servant of an extremely high ranking God to the lowest position you can think of). When Wukong and his party arrived at this mountain during the Journey, and for his party to cross this land, he needed to borrow the magic fan from Iron Fan Princess, who incidentally is now the wife of his sworn older brother the Bull Demon King. Due to Wukong having an earlier altercation in the Journey with their son, the Red Boy, who had been subdued and taken in as a disciple by Guan Yin Bodhisattva, the angry couple expectedly refused to lend Wukong the fan. It might sound nice like their son became a disciple of Buddha, but their son was practically beaten and kidnapped if you think about it, and it was all due to a sworn brother no less, so the feeling of betrayal was real. Wukong knew it was going to be a hard fight against Bull Demon King because Bull Demon King like Wukong also mastered the 72 Earthly Transformations, and also Wukong couldn't bring himself to fight his own sworn older brother after his supposed act of betrayal. So Wukong requested for help from the Celestial Court to subjugate Bull Demon King. This was what you saw at 33:25, Bull Demon King being subjugated by Pagoda Heavenly King Li Jing and his son Nezha the Lotus Prince.
I actually read all this and I love the lore of this chapter. I have a question thought. If throughout most of the story wukong is on bad terms with the celestial court, why did they help him take down the bull demon king. And if wukong betrayed the bull demon why was he grieving wukongs death? I’m just kindve confused on the message in this animation/story

It not only stay true to the source material, it also added its own twist of drama by using the political undercurrents and background events that had been subtly hinted and mentioned in the novel. It is pure genius really, by bringing to light and focusing on the things we were supposed to infer by reading between the lines from the novel, further adding on to the story of the novel instead of altering or changing anything from the source material. Basically, the Celestial Court and Western Heaven are in need of powerful individuals. To be more specific, powerful disposable controllable pawns to be their lapdogs. With the introduction of Buddhism into China, the Celestial Court now has Western Heaven, another faction, to contend for resource. This is the Will (the currency in the game) or you can say faith of people. These 2 factions might seem friendly and amicable on the surface, but in the background and darkness they are fighting for dominance through politics and gaining power. And what better way to gain power than to force already powerful individuals like Wukong or Bull Demon King to be part of their faction? To answer your question on why the Celestial Court helped Wukong, it is because they had been instructed by the Jade Emperor to do so. On the surface the Celestial Court owed Buddha a favour when he appeared and subdued Wukong 500 years ago during Wukong's rampage in the Celestial Court. This Journey to the West to retrieve the original Buddhist scriptures to bring back to China was one of the biggest events from the Buddhist faction (Western Heaven), and due to Buddha rescuing them in their time of need, the Celestial Court was obligation bound to assist and facilitate the party along the Journey to the Western Heaven. This part is true to the novel. What was not mentioned in the novel and to be inferred was that they were scared of what Wukong will do when he was rejected help, because this time he had all the justification to go on a rampage for the greater cause to fetch the scriptures and protect his master with whatever means necessary. To reject helping Wukong on this Journey is to go to war with the Western Heaven. Now comes the part where you have to infer from the novel and read from the game's in game texts and character info. The Celestial Court had hoped for Wukong to learn discipline and obedience in the Journey, grow powerful and return to serve the Court. What the Court failed to anticipate, was them putting the Tightening Headband on Wukong to effectively bind him physically and spiritually to the Western Heaven, essentially enslaving him and stealing a powerful pawn from them. If you watch the ending animation, it was basically flashbacks of the events involving the Bull Demon King leading up to this point in the story. What Wukong had hoped to do with the subjugation of Bull Demon King is to save his sworn brother from suffering the same fate as him. Wukong wanted to prevent his brother from becoming a slave to either Heavenly factions. Wukong had hoped that by showing both factions that the Bull Demon King was severely outclassed and had no treasures of value left (Iron Fan Princess's magic fan) that the Bull Demon King could be left alone. He's weak and therefore not worth the effort to enslave or not worthy to be their pawn. Wukong had no choice but to put on a show with a heavy heart. Of course Bull Demon King never realised the intentions of Wukong and hated him for his betrayal, until finally when Wukong was subjugated and lying in his arms dying did he finally understood and realised why and what Wukong did for him back then. If you look at all the Demon Kings (last bosses) fought across all the chapters, they were all Demons that had been accepted into the Buddhist faction as disposable pawns in the novel. In the novel, the Black Bear Demon from Chapter 1 was taken in by Guan Yin Bodhisattva, the Yellow Wind Sage from Chapter 2 was taken in by Lin Ji Bodhisattva, Yellowbrow from Chapter 3 was originally a servant of Mi Le Buddha (cute baby Buddha) and so was simply retrieved by Mi Le Buddha, Hundred Eyes Demon from Chapter 4 was taken in by Bi Lan Po Bodhisattva, last but not least Bull Demon King from Chapter 5 was taken in by Guan Yin Bodhisattva after his subjugation despite everything Wukong had orchestrated. At the beginning of the game from the story told by the old monkey, he said that it was Erlang alone that killed Wukong, and that the Relics fell into the hands of these Demon Kings by chance, but from Chapter 5 we found out the truth that in fact it was the Buddhist faction that wanted Wukong dead and it was no coincidence that the Relics ended in the possession of these Demons. After Wukong's death, his lingering 5 Senses became Relics and were distributed as spoils of war to these 5 Demon Kings as a reward and also as a trap. Even though these Demon Kings are part of the Buddhist faction, the Buddhists were quite racist and biased towards Demons. They see Demons as something that should be ultimately exterminated, but not before making use of them while they still had value first. The trap is such that, the Destined One will collect these Relics and then vanquish these Demons. So by having these Relics, they are essentially marked for death by the next Wukong. This was why Wukong told Bull Demon King to not touch whatever his body turned into after his death. Western Heaven essentially sent these disposable Demons that they discriminate to do their dirty work for them. The irony of this when Guan Yin Bodhisattva is also known as Guan Yin the Merciful. She's the one who tricked Wukong into wearing the Tightening Headband in the first place in the original novel, and now in this game she sent not 1 but 2 Demon Kings to subjugate and exterminate Wukong. All the while knowing the Destined One to become the next Wukong will in turn exterminate the 2 Demons that she sent to do the dirty work for her. Her end goal was to create a Wukong without the 6th Sense of Mind, a powerful obedient slave to do the bidding of the Western Heaven, while exterminating as much Demons in the process while not getting her hands dirty. She is merciful alright, just not towards Demons. This is why fighting the optional boss Erlang Shen is so important in this game, because Erlang actually preserved the 6th Sense of the Mind or the memories of Wukong before it dissipated to nothingness when he died. Upon defeating Erlang, he will release the memories of Wukong to the Destined One. When the Destined One finally defeats Wukong lingering sentiments/will, and merge with the 6th Sense of Mind which was supposed to be empty, it instead got filled with the memories/Mind that Erlang had given the Destined One, and in the process the Destined One inherits all 6 Senses of Wukong fully, truly resurrecting as Wukong. Original Wukong is dead, that much is certain. You are still the Destined One, but you have also inherited all the memories, senses, powers and equipment from the original Wukong, making you more akin to a fusion of Destined One and Wukong now. A Wukong version 2.0. Or a Destined One Version 2.0 if you will call it. But the end result is that Wukong has returned, free from the bondage of the Headband and Western Heaven, and truly regaining his freedom and free will.
Wukong isn't as much a villain more so that other people suffer as consequence for his rebellion. For instance, in the myth the Keeper of Flaming Mountain used to be the attendant to a brazier that could remove immortality. When the Celestial Court tried to use it to strip Wukong of his immortality near the beginning of the novel, it didn't work and only made him angrier and when he busted free the attendant was punished for his failure by being made to be the keep of a burning mountain. The reason the mountain was on fire in the first place was because the fiery bricks from the brazier fell from heaven and set the mountain on fire. From what I can understand from the ending animation, Wukong isn't so much the villain more so that the Bull Demon King and him were on opposing sides as the two of them were forced to serve heaven. Wukong being bond to it by the circlet on his head to follow the Tang Monk on the Journey to the West, and the Bull Demon King and his family still holding a grudge against him for previous altercations with his family on the journey. Wukong then attained Buddhahood after the journey was concluded, rejected it to be free and then fought back against heaven one more time which we saw at the beginning of the game, with the Bull Demon King and his other sworn brothers there as well like old times, but the circlet somehow came back. Allowing Erlang to deal the killing blow and the Bull Demon King to hold him in his arms as he dies.
Chapter 5 Summary by u/Odd-Iron-7716 Years ago on the Journey to the West, Monkey first fought with Red Boy, then invited Guanyin from the Southern Sea to take Red Boy away to be a Good Wealth Boy. Then they encountered Bull Demon King, and Monkey summoned all the gods in Celestial to forcibly subdue him. The old bull was then taken to the Buddhist realm reciting sutras to become a member of the system. As before, Black Myth adds many causes and effects to the story of the Bull Demon King's family. Many years ago, when the Buddhist realm exterminated the entire Yaksha race, The Venerable Lord Lao saved the son of the Yaksha King at the last moment. However, as no Yaksha could be left alive, Lord Lao could only collect the essence of the Yaksha prince. He then had his disciple, who was also the Bull Demon King's wife, Princess Iron Fan, drink the water from the Child-Mother River and use her womb to give birth to a child, preserving the Yaksha bloodline. This child was Red Boy. This is the origin of the whole affair. After the Journey to the West, Bull Demon King harmed the Great Sage and also received a Relic perk, in exchange for the freedom to return to Flame Mountain. However, the Great Sage was after all Bull Demon King's sworn brother, and being forced to kill the Great Sage became a hurdle that the old bull couldn't get over. Bull Demon King became depressed, losing almost all of his former demonic vigor. Later, Red Boy learned about his origins and demanded the Great Sage's Relic perk from Bull Demon King, wanting to transform into another Great Sage to take revenge on the Buddhist realm. But Bull Demon King, fearing the power of the Buddhist realm and worried about his son getting into danger, adamantly refused to give it. So Red Boy first raised the flag of rebellion against the old bull. Bull Demon King, fearing to hurt his son, was imprisoned by Red Boy because of this, but Red Boy still couldn't get the Great Sage's Relic perk. On the other side, Princess Iron Fan went to ask The Venerable Lord Lao for help, but Lord Lao coldly replied: "I asked you to give birth to a child, not to raise it as a son. You two shouldn't interfere, and naturally, the disaster will be resolved." If the story of Lingji and Yellow Wind showed what kind of image the Buddhist realm had, the dialogue between Princess Iron Fan and Lord Lao answers what kind of image the Celestial Court had - cold-blooded and unfeeling, supremely indifferent. The story of Flame Mountain ends with the Destined One defeating Red Boy. Princess Iron Fan knelt and begged for Red Boy's life to be spared, but Red Boy couldn't bear to beg his enemies again and angrily committed suicide. Note that here, Red Boy saw the Destined One as a spokesperson for the Buddhist realm and the Celestial Court. As the story enters its final stage, the scriptwriters finally reveal to us what the Destined One has been doing all along - on the surface, collecting Relic perks to resurrect the Great Sage, but in reality, still carrying out the will of the Buddhist realm and the Celestial Court.
Yo jett, ive seen some others comment it allready but just to be sure. If you want the true ending to the game, beat the secret bosses of chp 1 2 3 4 and 5 then go back to chp 3 for for secret boss then complete chp 6 for true ending.

Jett there’s a way to get wukong’s whole set. His armor, jingubangu which is his staff and you can get a secret true ending if you find a secret boss. The boss is the boss you fight at the start, Erlang Shen

There is no evil or good in the story. Different factions having different interests, and then there are willing participants and manipulated pawns. The bull king unfortunately is the latter, but so are all the bosses you’ve encountered.
Jet, this is literally the request of a lifetime. There's this game you could do a short series on and it's called "gori cuddly carnage" it's a hack and slash with crazy bosses and a fun aesthetic. I genuinely feel the game is being slept on and I feel you're the man for the job. Please please please play this game at some point I genuinely feel you won't be disappointed.
It's almost insulting calling it side stuff. Alot of it is super cool. Most of the secret area bosses are fun and legit. That chapter 4 was probably the best.

For everyone telling Jett to go back and do the secret areas. A couple of them he can’t even access anymore since he finished those chapters. He can’t get the secret ending even if he wanted too❤ yes he’s rushing through the game, but we gotta just be happy he’s even playing this game to begin with!

As much as I love these videos I definitely think it would be awesome if you explored more and went for secret bosses. Especially the secret ending boss, it does require a lot of steps and can be time consuming but I think we would all love to see that!

my man Jet i know you probably don’t look at comments too much anymore and im not tryna rush your amazing epic vibe with this epic game at the moment, but two game suggestions when you can get around to it: Metro 2033 Redux, and Uncharted Collection. I just found Metro not sure if you’ve played it but it’s fantastic and quite an immersive and underrated first person survival/action horror game
Jett you have to fight the secret boss fight before going to the final you would miss maybe the best fight in the game if you miss it and you get a amazing item you already missed some i hope you will do a new run on your own and find the fights you missed there are some incredible ones and this last boss has to be one of my fav from the whole game don't forget the secret fight!

This is for Jett and anyone else who's curious about whether Wukong is good/evil :} How Much of a Jerk is Sun Wukong in the story? by, Jim R. McClanahan. on Quora Wukong starts off as an innocent but very talented seeker of immortality. However, he soon becomes drunk on his resulting power. The first instance of him being a jerk takes place in chapter three when he goes to the undersea palace of Ao Guang to request a celestial weapon. Monkey is at first respectful and even grateful to receive the iron rod. But it’s only after his request for matching armor is turned down that he acts like a spoiled child and threatens the king: “‘Is that so?’ said Wukong. ‘Let me try the iron on you!’” This is the start of his long history of threatening gods to get what he wants. The deities that bear the brunt of his abuse throughout the narrative are earth gods, whom Monkey summons from time to time to get information about specific demons. Someone may cite the episode in hell where Monkey erases his name from the ledgers of life and eath. But I would argue his wrath was a justified response to a bureaucratic mistake. After all, Sun had achieved immortality and hell didn’t take note of this, dragging his soul to the underworld anyway. Everything that follows from this point is Monkey being a grade-A jerk. He’s upset when he learns the Keeper of the Heavenly Horses is a menial position, something not fitting of his status as an immortal. In all honesty, this was kind of a dick move on heaven’s part, but Sun could have at least shown his worth and worked his way up. But instead he takes the rebellious title of the “Great Sage Equaling Heaven” and strongarms the celestial hierarchy into giving him a higher position, the Guardian of the Immortal Peach Groves. This of course leads to him eating all of the peaches, trashing the heavenly banquet, and eventually trying to usurp the throne of heaven. This is the biggest instance of him being a jerk. Monkey is so egotistical that he believes he’s more fit to rule heaven than the Jade Emperor, someone who has cultivated his wisdom for countless eons. After repenting, Sun is generally a good but very hot-tempered disciple to Tripitaka. He takes great joy in murdering anything that poses even the remotest threat to his master. Mountain tigers? Hamburger! Human bandits? Hamburger! Junior demons delivering letters to the monster king or patriarch / matriarch of a neighboring cave? Hamburger! Is this jerk behavior? I’ll leave that up to readers to decide. (I should point out the six bandits whom Monkey kills in chapter 14 are physical representations of the eyes, ears, nose, tongue, body, and mind, the six sources of desire that keep humans trapped within the illusionary world of Samsara. Therefore, by killing them, he helps Tripitaka take one step closer to enlightenment.) Then there is the instance in chapter 25 when Sun destroys a priceless heavenly tree laden with immortality-bestowing fruits simply because the guardians won’t share. That sounds like something a child would do: “If I can’t have it, nobody can!”

You should play Life is strange. It’s a choice game like the walking dead. It’s such a good game if you haven’t played it yet. The main character has powers.
Basically for all the chapters in Black Myth Wukong, it is all about actions and consequences from the party's Journey to the West, both before and after. Because the story of this game take place after the Journey, this game can be considered a sequel to the original story. To get a hang of the backstory going on in the background, you will need a lot of lore knowledge from the novel, so whatever I'm explaining is going to be long.
In the original story, before Wukong began his Journey, he was a monkey with no impulse control and acted as he pleased. Basically, what happens when you give a child unlimited power, freedom and no role model to discipline him and correct his actions, because Wukong was born from a rock that had absorbed the essence of ying, yang, heaven, earth, sun and moon (he burst out of the rock like it was an egg), and thus had no parents. His actions got him in trouble with the Celestial Court. When mortals attain Godhood and ascend to divinity, they will ascend and live in the Celestial Heaven, and within this Celestial Heaven it is governed like your typical ancient Chinese monarchy court. The Jade Emperor is the one in charge of the Celestial Heaven, which is actually the Lower Heaven, which the true Immortals from Upper Heaven put him in charge. You can think of the deities as "fake Gods", as what they actually had that they call "immortality" is actually an extension to their life spans, and they must keep extending their divinity and life span by consuming pills and other Divine items, until hopefully they can ascend as a true Immortal that doesn't require such items to artificially extend their lives and divinities.
When Wukong was angry at the Celestial Court for not inviting him to a banquet, he ate all the Divine Peaches for the banquet and Divine Pills as retaliation. The Celestial Court assembled an army of 100,000 Celestial troops (each soldier is essentially a form of low level God) to capture Wukong. Wukong was captured by Erlang Shen with the help of Tai Shang Lao Jun who is the God in charge of manufacturing and concocting Divine Pills. The Court tried to execute Wukong but nothing worked, and so Tai Shang Lao Jun thought of using his Pill Refining Furnace to refine Wukong into a pill. A Pill Refining Furnace works by burning away at the impurities of an object, leaving only its true essence behind, which is then used as ingredient for pills. The fire within this Furnace is the Samadhi Fire which is especially potent, cannot be put out by any means and has such purifying properties. Wukong was trapped in this furnace to burn for 49 days, but what Tai Shang Lao Jun failed to consider was that Wukong was a being born from the pure ying, yang, heaven and earth essence, and as such he was a being mainly made up of pure essence and had little to no impurities to burn. What the furnace did instead was to remove the impurities in Wukong, making him more pure and powerful instead (Chinese have a belief that if you remove all the impurities in your body, your body will function fundamentally superior due to the foundation of your body being stronger and purer with no impurities to weaken you). Wukong emerged from the furnace after 49 days and kicked it over, spilling the Samadhi Fire down to Earth. The Samadhi Fire landed on this particular land in Chapter 5, creating the Fiery Fire Mountain (Flaming Mountain) range. The servants of Tai Shang Lao Jun who were supposed to be watching over his residence and fanning the fire of the furnace were blamed and punished for failing to keep watch over the abode and letting Wukong enter and devour all the Divine Pills prior. This is unfair punishment in my opinion, because what can 2 little servant boy and girl do against the almighty Wukong? He just used magic to put them to sleep and proceeded to devour all the Pills. Tao Shang Lao Jun probably used them as scapegoats to save face for failing to kill Wukong and made him more powerful instead with his idea of using the Furnace. They were banished to Fiery Fire Mountain to tend to the aftermath of Wukong's rampage. The girl in charge of fanning the furnace was Rakshasi, and now had to fan away the flames with her magic fan yearly at Fiery Fire Mountain, earning her the moniker of Iron Fan Princess. The watcher of the furnace to make sure the fire is always burning was made to keep watch over the land as the local land God (A land God is a very low level God. They're even lower in position than the foot soldiers you see from Heaven. He literally went from being a position of envy as the servant of an extremely high ranking God to the lowest position you can think of).
When Wukong and his party arrived at this mountain during the Journey, and for his party to cross this land, he needed to borrow the magic fan from Iron Fan Princess, who incidentally is now the wife of his sworn older brother the Bull Demon King. Due to Wukong having an earlier altercation in the Journey with their son, the Red Boy, who had been subdued and taken in as a disciple by Guan Yin Bodhisattva, the angry couple expectedly refused to lend Wukong the fan. It might sound nice like their son became a disciple of Buddha, but their son was practically beaten and kidnapped if you think about it, and it was all due to a sworn brother no less, so the feeling of betrayal was real. Wukong knew it was going to be a hard fight against Bull Demon King because Bull Demon King like Wukong also mastered the 72 Earthly Transformations, and also Wukong couldn't bring himself to fight his own sworn older brother after his supposed act of betrayal. So Wukong requested for help from the Celestial Court to subjugate Bull Demon King. This was what you saw at 33:25, Bull Demon King being subjugated by Pagoda Heavenly King Li Jing and his son Nezha the Lotus Prince.

I actually read all this and I love the lore of this chapter. I have a question thought. If throughout most of the story wukong is on bad terms with the celestial court, why did they help him take down the bull demon king. And if wukong betrayed the bull demon why was he grieving wukongs death? I’m just kindve confused on the message in this animation/story

It not only stay true to the source material, it also added its own twist of drama by using the political undercurrents and background events that had been subtly hinted and mentioned in the novel. It is pure genius really, by bringing to light and focusing on the things we were supposed to infer by reading between the lines from the novel, further adding on to the story of the novel instead of altering or changing anything from the source material.
Basically, the Celestial Court and Western Heaven are in need of powerful individuals. To be more specific, powerful disposable controllable pawns to be their lapdogs. With the introduction of Buddhism into China, the Celestial Court now has Western Heaven, another faction, to contend for resource. This is the Will (the currency in the game) or you can say faith of people. These 2 factions might seem friendly and amicable on the surface, but in the background and darkness they are fighting for dominance through politics and gaining power. And what better way to gain power than to force already powerful individuals like Wukong or Bull Demon King to be part of their faction?
To answer your question on why the Celestial Court helped Wukong, it is because they had been instructed by the Jade Emperor to do so. On the surface the Celestial Court owed Buddha a favour when he appeared and subdued Wukong 500 years ago during Wukong's rampage in the Celestial Court. This Journey to the West to retrieve the original Buddhist scriptures to bring back to China was one of the biggest events from the Buddhist faction (Western Heaven), and due to Buddha rescuing them in their time of need, the Celestial Court was obligation bound to assist and facilitate the party along the Journey to the Western Heaven. This part is true to the novel. What was not mentioned in the novel and to be inferred was that they were scared of what Wukong will do when he was rejected help, because this time he had all the justification to go on a rampage for the greater cause to fetch the scriptures and protect his master with whatever means necessary. To reject helping Wukong on this Journey is to go to war with the Western Heaven.
Now comes the part where you have to infer from the novel and read from the game's in game texts and character info. The Celestial Court had hoped for Wukong to learn discipline and obedience in the Journey, grow powerful and return to serve the Court. What the Court failed to anticipate, was them putting the Tightening Headband on Wukong to effectively bind him physically and spiritually to the Western Heaven, essentially enslaving him and stealing a powerful pawn from them.
If you watch the ending animation, it was basically flashbacks of the events involving the Bull Demon King leading up to this point in the story. What Wukong had hoped to do with the subjugation of Bull Demon King is to save his sworn brother from suffering the same fate as him. Wukong wanted to prevent his brother from becoming a slave to either Heavenly factions. Wukong had hoped that by showing both factions that the Bull Demon King was severely outclassed and had no treasures of value left (Iron Fan Princess's magic fan) that the Bull Demon King could be left alone. He's weak and therefore not worth the effort to enslave or not worthy to be their pawn. Wukong had no choice but to put on a show with a heavy heart. Of course Bull Demon King never realised the intentions of Wukong and hated him for his betrayal, until finally when Wukong was subjugated and lying in his arms dying did he finally understood and realised why and what Wukong did for him back then.
If you look at all the Demon Kings (last bosses) fought across all the chapters, they were all Demons that had been accepted into the Buddhist faction as disposable pawns in the novel. In the novel, the Black Bear Demon from Chapter 1 was taken in by Guan Yin Bodhisattva, the Yellow Wind Sage from Chapter 2 was taken in by Lin Ji Bodhisattva, Yellowbrow from Chapter 3 was originally a servant of Mi Le Buddha (cute baby Buddha) and so was simply retrieved by Mi Le Buddha, Hundred Eyes Demon from Chapter 4 was taken in by Bi Lan Po Bodhisattva, last but not least Bull Demon King from Chapter 5 was taken in by Guan Yin Bodhisattva after his subjugation despite everything Wukong had orchestrated. At the beginning of the game from the story told by the old monkey, he said that it was Erlang alone that killed Wukong, and that the Relics fell into the hands of these Demon Kings by chance, but from Chapter 5 we found out the truth that in fact it was the Buddhist faction that wanted Wukong dead and it was no coincidence that the Relics ended in the possession of these Demons. After Wukong's death, his lingering 5 Senses became Relics and were distributed as spoils of war to these 5 Demon Kings as a reward and also as a trap. Even though these Demon Kings are part of the Buddhist faction, the Buddhists were quite racist and biased towards Demons. They see Demons as something that should be ultimately exterminated, but not before making use of them while they still had value first. The trap is such that, the Destined One will collect these Relics and then vanquish these Demons. So by having these Relics, they are essentially marked for death by the next Wukong. This was why Wukong told Bull Demon King to not touch whatever his body turned into after his death.
Western Heaven essentially sent these disposable Demons that they discriminate to do their dirty work for them. The irony of this when Guan Yin Bodhisattva is also known as Guan Yin the Merciful. She's the one who tricked Wukong into wearing the Tightening Headband in the first place in the original novel, and now in this game she sent not 1 but 2 Demon Kings to subjugate and exterminate Wukong. All the while knowing the Destined One to become the next Wukong will in turn exterminate the 2 Demons that she sent to do the dirty work for her. Her end goal was to create a Wukong without the 6th Sense of Mind, a powerful obedient slave to do the bidding of the Western Heaven, while exterminating as much Demons in the process while not getting her hands dirty. She is merciful alright, just not towards Demons. This is why fighting the optional boss Erlang Shen is so important in this game, because Erlang actually preserved the 6th Sense of the Mind or the memories of Wukong before it dissipated to nothingness when he died. Upon defeating Erlang, he will release the memories of Wukong to the Destined One. When the Destined One finally defeats Wukong lingering sentiments/will, and merge with the 6th Sense of Mind which was supposed to be empty, it instead got filled with the memories/Mind that Erlang had given the Destined One, and in the process the Destined One inherits all 6 Senses of Wukong fully, truly resurrecting as Wukong. Original Wukong is dead, that much is certain. You are still the Destined One, but you have also inherited all the memories, senses, powers and equipment from the original Wukong, making you more akin to a fusion of Destined One and Wukong now. A Wukong version 2.0. Or a Destined One Version 2.0 if you will call it. But the end result is that Wukong has returned, free from the bondage of the Headband and Western Heaven, and truly regaining his freedom and free will.

Wukong isn't as much a villain more so that other people suffer as consequence for his rebellion. For instance, in the myth the Keeper of Flaming Mountain used to be the attendant to a brazier that could remove immortality. When the Celestial Court tried to use it to strip Wukong of his immortality near the beginning of the novel, it didn't work and only made him angrier and when he busted free the attendant was punished for his failure by being made to be the keep of a burning mountain. The reason the mountain was on fire in the first place was because the fiery bricks from the brazier fell from heaven and set the mountain on fire.
From what I can understand from the ending animation, Wukong isn't so much the villain more so that the Bull Demon King and him were on opposing sides as the two of them were forced to serve heaven. Wukong being bond to it by the circlet on his head to follow the Tang Monk on the Journey to the West, and the Bull Demon King and his family still holding a grudge against him for previous altercations with his family on the journey.
Wukong then attained Buddhahood after the journey was concluded, rejected it to be free and then fought back against heaven one more time which we saw at the beginning of the game, with the Bull Demon King and his other sworn brothers there as well like old times, but the circlet somehow came back. Allowing Erlang to deal the killing blow and the Bull Demon King to hold him in his arms as he dies.

Years ago on the Journey to the West, Monkey first fought with Red Boy, then invited Guanyin from the Southern Sea to take Red Boy away to be a Good Wealth Boy. Then they encountered Bull Demon King, and Monkey summoned all the gods in Celestial to forcibly subdue him. The old bull was then taken to the Buddhist realm reciting sutras to become a member of the system.
As before, Black Myth adds many causes and effects to the story of the Bull Demon King's family. Many years ago, when the Buddhist realm exterminated the entire Yaksha race, The Venerable Lord Lao saved the son of the Yaksha King at the last moment. However, as no Yaksha could be left alive, Lord Lao could only collect the essence of the Yaksha prince. He then had his disciple, who was also the Bull Demon King's wife, Princess Iron Fan, drink the water from the Child-Mother River and use her womb to give birth to a child, preserving the Yaksha bloodline. This child was Red Boy. This is the origin of the whole affair.
After the Journey to the West, Bull Demon King harmed the Great Sage and also received a Relic perk, in exchange for the freedom to return to Flame Mountain. However, the Great Sage was after all Bull Demon King's sworn brother, and being forced to kill the Great Sage became a hurdle that the old bull couldn't get over. Bull Demon King became depressed, losing almost all of his former demonic vigor. Later, Red Boy learned about his origins and demanded the Great Sage's Relic perk from Bull Demon King, wanting to transform into another Great Sage to take revenge on the Buddhist realm. But Bull Demon King, fearing the power of the Buddhist realm and worried about his son getting into danger, adamantly refused to give it. So Red Boy first raised the flag of rebellion against the old bull. Bull Demon King, fearing to hurt his son, was imprisoned by Red Boy because of this, but Red Boy still couldn't get the Great Sage's Relic perk.
On the other side, Princess Iron Fan went to ask The Venerable Lord Lao for help, but Lord Lao coldly replied: "I asked you to give birth to a child, not to raise it as a son. You two shouldn't interfere, and naturally, the disaster will be resolved." If the story of Lingji and Yellow Wind showed what kind of image the Buddhist realm had, the dialogue between Princess Iron Fan and Lord Lao answers what kind of image the Celestial Court had - cold-blooded and unfeeling, supremely indifferent.
The story of Flame Mountain ends with the Destined One defeating Red Boy. Princess Iron Fan knelt and begged for Red Boy's life to be spared, but Red Boy couldn't bear to beg his enemies again and angrily committed suicide.
Note that here, Red Boy saw the Destined One as a spokesperson for the Buddhist realm and the Celestial Court. As the story enters its final stage, the scriptwriters finally reveal to us what the Destined One has been doing all along - on the surface, collecting Relic perks to resurrect the Great Sage, but in reality, still carrying out the will of the Buddhist realm and the Celestial Court.

There is no evil or good in the story. Different factions having different interests, and then there are willing participants and manipulated pawns. The bull king unfortunately is the latter, but so are all the bosses you’ve encountered.

Wukong starts off as an innocent but very talented seeker of immortality. However, he soon becomes drunk on his resulting power. The first instance of him being a jerk takes place in chapter three when he goes to the undersea palace of Ao Guang to request a celestial weapon. Monkey is at first respectful and even grateful to receive the iron rod. But it’s only after his request for matching armor is turned down that he acts like a spoiled child and threatens the king: “‘Is that so?’ said Wukong. ‘Let me try the iron on you!’” This is the start of his long history of threatening gods to get what he wants. The deities that bear the brunt of his abuse throughout the narrative are earth gods, whom Monkey summons from time to time to get information about specific demons.
Someone may cite the episode in hell where Monkey erases his name from the ledgers of life and eath. But I would argue his wrath was a justified response to a bureaucratic mistake. After all, Sun had achieved immortality and hell didn’t take note of this, dragging his soul to the underworld anyway.
Everything that follows from this point is Monkey being a grade-A jerk. He’s upset when he learns the Keeper of the Heavenly Horses is a menial position, something not fitting of his status as an immortal. In all honesty, this was kind of a dick move on heaven’s part, but Sun could have at least shown his worth and worked his way up. But instead he takes the rebellious title of the “Great Sage Equaling Heaven” and strongarms the celestial hierarchy into giving him a higher position, the Guardian of the Immortal Peach Groves. This of course leads to him eating all of the peaches, trashing the heavenly banquet, and eventually trying to usurp the throne of heaven. This is the biggest instance of him being a jerk. Monkey is so egotistical that he believes he’s more fit to rule heaven than the Jade Emperor, someone who has cultivated his wisdom for countless eons.
After repenting, Sun is generally a good but very hot-tempered disciple to Tripitaka. He takes great joy in murdering anything that poses even the remotest threat to his master. Mountain tigers? Hamburger! Human bandits? Hamburger! Junior demons delivering letters to the monster king or patriarch / matriarch of a neighboring cave? Hamburger! Is this jerk behavior? I’ll leave that up to readers to decide.
(I should point out the six bandits whom Monkey kills in chapter 14 are physical representations of the eyes, ears, nose, tongue, body, and mind, the six sources of desire that keep humans trapped within the illusionary world of Samsara. Therefore, by killing them, he helps Tripitaka take one step closer to enlightenment.)
Then there is the instance in chapter 25 when Sun destroys a priceless heavenly tree laden with immortality-bestowing fruits simply because the guardians won’t share. That sounds like something a child would do: “If I can’t have it, nobody can!”
