I've always thought that the cover of Pretzel Logic is part of the love we have for it. It's not their best record but it's close. Their last great album for me though. By the time of Aja they'd disappeared up their own arse.

The Eagles Greatest Hits hasn't been the best selling album for many years. Thriller, Back In Black, The Bodyguard soundtrack and Dark Side OTM have all sold more.
Also, what's going on with the number of adverts in the podcasts these days? Listening on Spotify, it now has more ads than any other podcast I listen to. Some ads even come in midway through a sentence!

Phil Manzanera on Roxy Music’s In Every Dream Home a Heartache - totally unexpected first time you heat it 😎

Bad band name: Blancmange. Neil always regrets it.

Ahem, Iron Maiden are heavy metal and their songs very much tell stories. e.g. Empire of the Clouds, When the Wild Wind Blows, The talisman etc

I agree you can't generalise, it is the same with indie bands , there are some songs that have stories, the Stone Roses Sally Cinnamon was the first one I could think of, boy finds letter on the train and reads it.

A few Rush songs are some of the greatest stories ever told.

Sweary band names: the band formed by former Danny Wilson singer was King L, and despite the Melody Maker listing their gigs seemingly every week, it took months for the penny to drop...

Check out on UA-cam: Rick Beato interviewing Michael Omartian who played piano on 'Rikki don't lose that number', Aja and others. Scool.

Pretzel Logic - the least dated album of all time? Hmm, lovely record, but it sounds very, very mid 70s.

And? I don't think I've ever listened to it, but I'm going to have a listen now.

I think that Glenn Frey and Jackson Browne were neighbors, not apartment mates. Listen to the rest of the Country charts. None of it sounds like true Country.

Wasn’t Dylan picked up by the police for looking a bit suspicious outside Springsteen’s family home?

Sweary band names, you ask? I'm fairly confident that Melbourne's own The Fuck Fucks claim the title.

Can't let this one go without mentioning a fantastic Brisbane band, Hits, and their first LP hitshitshitshitshitshitshitshits etc. ua-cam.com/video/E2WyY8MwA04/v-deo.html
