I love these films specifically because you get to see one director's vision develop throughout his life. It's something that I can appreciate a lot.
Just watched it..again..again..it definitely stands up..like the sequels too
The chase with the Night Rider is still impressive AF. I love the Clockwork Orange weirdness of everyone in this film. Its utterly batshit
There were 2 eye-bulges in this movie the 1st one was the Night Rider before the stolen interceptor crashes.
Yes it does. And the Road Warrior still shines as the best of the series. I don't really care about Furiosa but my dad is excited about it so I'm excited to see it at the theaters with him
How it all began
Short answer: Yep.
That was a fine reflection on the first film, for someone seeing a now a very old movie after Fury Road. MM 1 was raw & original
Thank you! And yes it was for sure.
Mad Max 1 is my all time favourite movie. It stands out above the other mad max movies because this is about wrathful revenge. The others are just good action movies.
I rewatch Mad Max 1 and 2 on a regular basis. Hell yes they stand up. Thunderdome... not so much. Still that's fun in a cheesy way though.
Also fun fact... in Weird Science, Wez from Road Warrior has a cameo at the end of the movie.
Huh, I watched Weird Science before Road Warrior so I never realized!
Americans will never be able to live up to Aussie film making …. We do it proper always have always will
What are the best Australian films?
I noticed that throughout the years... For example to name something recent, I watched Talk To Me last week. That movie is so much more visceral than American horror movies.
But some of my favorites aside from the Mad Max franchise: The Babadook, Wake In Fright, The Loved Ones, Hounds Of Love, Sleeping Beauty and Picnic At Hanging Rock.
@@Zeitgeist6 I love The Babadook and The Loved Ones
@BoxOfChocolatez
A few I've enjoyed are (in no order of favor, and not counting the Mad Max movies).
Breaker Morant
Gallipoli
The Proposition
The Chant of Jimmie Blacksmith
Utu
Picnic at Hanging Rock
The 5th Wave
The Long Weekend
Cosi
Priscilla, Queen of the Desert
Strictly Ballroom
Muriel's Wedding
Razorback
Rabbit-Proof Fence
The Plumber
The Babadook
There are more, more, and more. Have fun. 😀
Easily my favourite, The Toecutter gang have so much character, and the MFP too.
I definitely prefer Toecutter over some of the other villains in the series.
That's the best one imho.
Original and still the best mate. Just not dubbed
Oh yeah I heard they dubbed it initially for American audiences, very strange lol
@@BoxOfChocolatez Yeah the Aussie version is the only one mate
