I contemplated cutting the board out but you can just pull it out using a hook pick tool in the locator tab holes. There are no tracks to get damaged there.
Hi I purchased one and just changed the case. I can open and close the doors and the trunk. But the car does not start with this key. How to fix it? I have an extra key and the extra key works perfect but not the one with new case. It worked fine before changing the case but not now
Thank you for this video. Our unlock button has stopped working for the car so we're going to open it up and see if we can fix it before needing to buy a new one. 10/10.
Thank you for this. I managed to open the fob and clean the circuit board which made my key work properly again. The ignition lights came on and i could open the car from a few metres away
Way too dangerous i need to keep my key and my fingers. Should’ve started the video with “don’t try this at home”. Once i saw pieces being removed that weren’t shown i gave up hope.
If you did this and your car won’t start? Then you damaged the chip coil or the board. Either way, you need a new key if it was working before. You have to be VERY careful when opening these keys. The glue is hard and forcing tools between the key can accidentally break something.
Wow well done...I stopped watching after 5 minutes...I cant stand the sight of my own blood. I counted 6 times I would have stuck myself with the screw driver, and three times i would have cut my palm or thumb..GOOD LUCK to all with more talent than myself..
I have just one working key. It seems that if I mess up the the working key prying and cutting around the circuit board, I'd have a non-working vehicle. Risk of failure looks about 50%.
You scratch the crap out of the circuit board.
I doubt this remote actually work after you finished
Well saved $500 for 2 new keys from dealer. Bought two OEM used ones for $12 and with your video so let's be accurate saved $488 dollars. :)
Where did you buy the new case?
@@josetizol eBay. Many, many listings on there. Keys still work to this day.
What was the issue with them to begin with?
@@airadaimagery692I imagine keys scratching the crap out of them

once opened, the key fob can be closed and re-used?
Not really in my opinion. I did it 10mins ago. The original key seems to be glued… I had to throw away the original… you just take the board
What about the new key 2018 e class

I have the same key and it’s not turning or starting the car now... Will this fix the problem?
No
Hi mate do I need to program the key after this ?
I can open and close the doors but the car does not start. How do you fix it ?
I watched at least 40 videos to find this one, thanks a lot
Wow, that looks super easy and safe. Next time just start with a hammer, a chisel and a power drill - much faster. This is hardly a solution
Why hammer and chisel, what's wrong with utility knife like he did it?
Have you got a better solution for opening merc fobs?
Bro thank you for video you save me money 💰 Hello from Melbourne!
You forgot to mount the plus clip for the battery. This fob will never work this way.
Can I change cover from 2010 to 2014 ??
No… just swap „same same“
Using the Stanley knife like that makes me nervous
You have to be careful and do it slowly and carefully. A little practice and this is the way to go.

This is not the way
Not a Mandalorian? They keep saying, "This is the way" at the end of every sentence.
What is the way then, show us.
Watched it but won't even start.

You can always use acetone to dilute the adhesive.
Thanks that sounds a bit safer for me!

Best solution would be to contact your local specialist. I wouldn't risk losing my last key. Then creating a new key will be much more expensive.
AHA das Gehäuse ist verklebt 👌 ua-cam.com/video/f08K-pxznZw/v-deo.html Danke
Das hat mir sehr geholfen
This is ridiculous the steps you have to go through to get into this key. Any other key it takes two seconds
