I'm surprised this compilation didn't include Final Doom, since the Collector's Edition released right before Doom 3 had it along with Doom and Doom II.
Actually, Final DOOM is technically already apart of DOOM and DOOM II. Plutonia Experiment and TNT Evilution are already downloadable Addons in the Bethesda Re-Release via the Addons section. Its unnecessary to have Final DOOM as its own seperate release when they are technically Addons for the standard DOOM. So basically, your already getting Final DOOM with both the Bethesda Re-Release of DOOM 1 and II
I never buy collectors editions but this game defines my childhood. Its my favorite series of all time and it revolutionized gaming. Thanks for unboxing this for me so I dont have to. 😅
That's one cool little detail I absolutely had to add as I was editing! It's a little sad that no one else seems to have noticed though (or at least cared enough to mention it). 😞
I broke the seal on mine as well! Couldn't resist. I went with the ps4 version because it didn't have the logo on the box and made it look alot cleaner. Also did you know that the comic is actually smaller than the original? Anyways been a fan for a long time, enjoy your day sir!
Man I totally agree about the logo on the box. I was torn because I don't actually own a PS4, so I had to make a choice: get the Switch version and have a copy I can actually play, or get the PS4 version with a more attractive box but end up with a game that's essentially worthless/unplayable. It sure wasn't an easy choice to make. I'm assuming the pricks at Nintendo were the ones who required them to have the logo there to begin with. As for the comic: I didn't even know about the size being different. I wonder if the contents themselves differ in any way (is it a perfect replica aside from the size, or did they make minor adjustments here and there?).
This is the trouble with limited run games. They're never usually available in other countries for preorder at their announcement. Then later on people like myself end up paying some scalper nearly £500.00 for something worth 129 Dollars "US" when they're no longer available elsewhere. I once asked them what their motives were, and they stated that they were simply providing a service to release titles that would not normally get a physical release. But it's not entirely true. They try to generate game shortages. They certainly got shot down in flames with their physical release of Indie game "Carrion" for Switch. The creators suddenly released the physical for themselves, at £19.99, leaving all the pre-ordering "Limited Runners" cancelling their vastly overpriced orders. But, Yes! This "Doom" is a very nice set. Very exclusive. But I don't like or entertain Limited Run. They try to generate collectible titles of limited availability straight off the bat. I'm a massive fan of "DOOM" I still have all my originals from various formats and collector's editions from all over the years. But I won't buy from Limited Run or Special reserve. Please excuse my massive rant. It's not jealousy, it's sheer fracking frustration of how those assholes operate.
I liked it. I mean I played through the main game and the 2 add-ons, RoE and Lost Levels but I don't really see myself playing it again. Good on its own
Two things. 1. This was release Before it was patched to remove the DRM. Which makes this almost worthless 2. Sorry, but Doom 3 is *not* a "classic". Every Doom fan i know thought that game was crap. Doom 2016 was a far better sequel than Doom 3 was.
wow, what a great service they did with the box art, that's beautiful!
I feel like that the shareware disk USB should have actually included the IWAD for DOOM shareware inside just for fun.
they probably could have made it both a usb and a real floppy lol
I'm surprised this compilation didn't include Final Doom, since the Collector's Edition released right before Doom 3 had it along with Doom and Doom II.
Isn't Final doom Technically a part of doom 2 as part of the addons?
@@atoaster9940 Yep

this box is HUGE, that must mean it has HUGE GUTS!
RIP AND TEAR
RIP AND TEAR IT’S GUTS!
The keycard pickup was really good.
Surprised that doesn't include Doom 64
Yeah it could have been in the place of DOOM 3
d64 wasnt made by id, guessing why. Would have been nice though. this is going for 280 USD online. Way too much
Limited Run already made Doom 64 physical editions and merch. Good stuff.
@@DrMurdercock Glad I'm not a console gamer lmao I realise it's the collector aspect but still..
@@Grandmastergav86 thy do sel Doom 64 some store stil have them. i got Doom 64 to and looks super
I liked the little touch when you pick up the keycard, nice

@@Chubzdoomer Hey I noticed it too :)
@@Chubzdoomer made me smile.
I didn't know there was a doom comic book from 1996
Wish I had bunch of DOOM stuff on my shelf
Nice! Thanks for uploading this.
Oh man, keycard for the win!
Thank you for sharing this.
Loved playing DOOM. Even though DOOM 3 is survival horror, I still loved DOOM 3.
How is doom 3 survival horror? Its the same action as the old games just darker. If you want survival horror play resident evil
Nice, mine should be arriving any day now!
It will never die it is ETERNAL
Thank you! this was awesome in SO many diffrent ways :)
Right on Zoenna
Hey! You picked up a red keycard!
That usb floppy disk would be perfect to store all the press and retail releases of the game
That's a helluvan idea!
@@Chubzdoomer would love to get my hands on just the floppy disk
The picked up red key card effect... well done LOL
Awesome. For new comers, now is the best time to play Doom...
I never knew that these existed, otherwise I would have bought one and I don't even own a Switch
thy make for ps4 and xbox to and think PC to. some shops stil sel them if you lucky to find one
Rip and tear until it is done
The fact i was unaware this was a thing dissapoints me to no end and im sad now
Now I want to buy it even though I dont have a Nintendo switch
Damn.. I want one
You should've done an "armour bonus" when you picked up that keychain 😂
What a beauty, shame I couldn't get one but gratz mate so jelly and glad you got yourself one haha.
We need something like this for pc. I'd probably buy it.
Chubz nuuuu it hurts so much to see u break the seal D: lol
Trust me, it hurt me just as much as it hurt you.
Damn, too bad I didn't know about that. Oh well, that's what WadSmoosh is for.
They need to make final doom exclusive with this release
I didn't even realize it at the time, but Final Doom is technically included as well because it's available as a free add-on/download for DOOM 2.
That's cool 😎
Can get Doom free, but i want this box

Agreed, however, I do think the Switch will age as one of the all time greatest consoles, so probably best in the switch library
Legal, mas faltou o Final Doom.
Do you get a physical game cart or is it DLC codes?
Yeah, there's a physical cart in there.
Pretty cool but they should have included Final Doom instead of 3
Final Doom is thankfully included with Doom 2 as a free add-on.
Super damn cool
That was nice and enjoyable
Damn this is amazing
I only bought the physical game
Do you get a card from limited run inside the box
I'm pretty sure I did!
@ I’m picking this one up and also the castle vania ultimate edition. I just got the castlevania advance collection ultimate yesterday 👍nice video

Let me guess...its no longer available for purchase?
Sadly, no. 😞 It'd be great if they eventually brought it back one day though.
I wonder how much the cover artist gets in royalties
Well considering the cover artist has passed away I'd assume his son handles his business.
@@thedoomguy8282 oh damn. That sucks. The 90's painted style is legendary. Yeah, his estate must get royalties.
What is your opinion about Doom 3?
I made a video just over a year ago that sort of talks about that:

How much does this cost?
It was $129.99, but is no longer for sale (it was only on Limited Run for a limited time).
Doom 3 is short for doom 3d
I want to believe you.
Two things.

You must not know many Doom fans then. There are plenty of us who like Doom 3.
