It looks beautiful, but the sandpaper sound effect is very offputting. Why would a soft bristle brush make such a loud scraping sound?
Because she has the sound turned up for people who love texture sounds, that’s what the ASMR means. If you don’t like it you can turn it down, I often do.
Nihonga paints leave behind bigger granules of pigment than a lot of other types of paint, giving the surface a rough texture.

@@julienotsmith7068 yes, I understand that, and have watched many other ASMR videos of Nihonga style painting. None of the others have such grating sounds, as if the artist was scraping away color with a stick rather than applying it with a soft brush. Maybe that is what this artist is doing?
