When you believe that God created in 6 days, recall that the Scripture states that with God, one day is as a thousand years, and a thousand years as one day.
This reaction has turned countless people away from Christ. His argument is a straw man of the communist revolution and and he is conflating eugenics with evolution. It's oversimplified. Having said this, I will affirm that these ideologies are wicked and should absolutely be rejected. Ultimately though my view of it is who cares? Either way God created the heavens and earth. I reckon that I will find out exactly how he did it one day.
In the Genesis account of Creation, at the end of each description of what was created on that day, scripture says, “and there was evening and morning one day. … and the evening and morning were the second day,” etc. This would not make sense if each creation day lasted 1,000 years.

The fact that Genesis specifically mentions that its days have an evening and a morning does not imply that the thousand year day is a different category of day. Those elements of the Old Law which express human obligations which bind us by the Natural Law (thus, the Ten Commandments, including the obligation of public worship) remain in force, but the particular prescription as to which day of the week is to be set aside as the holy day falls within the jurisdiction of the Church to determine. The change from the seventh to the first day was made in the Church's earliest years, in the time and under the authority of the Apostles. (See Col. 2:16) God bless you.

Catholic teaching does NOT refer to the days of creation as six "days" as six (24-hour days). His days are NOT our calendar days, but God's "time."
