The crowd was so nuts the stadium was shaking and I remember being nervous because I thought the stadium was gonna collapse 😆
Best part is that there may be some banter and perhaps some shouts, nobody is fighting, throwing food and drinks at each other. The fans do not tolerate that from each other. We're even nice to Ohio State fans and that takes a lot of effort on our part.
This is going to make me start watching college football faithfully. I’ve been a fan of football all my life an NFL junkie and I was born in 98. but this video just opened my eyes officially to the greatness of college football this is amazing
it's about to get way worse. All these "collectives" giving NIL "salaries" to players is going to ruin college football. Michigan State, Ohio State, and Alabama have fucking payrolls for players right now. Don't think it will make much of a difference for a team like MSU since their defense is fucking ass, but it's going to put OSU and Bama on another level. Hopefully, the greatest Supreme Court our country has ever seen will take up a case that strikes down NIL so we can make college football great again!
it’s a bit too late, but this last year will be the most watched year of football yet to be seen for sure, especially before the conference changes and NCAA break off. the tide has turned in the favor of the schools with a boatload of money such as texas, miami, usc, and many others that dominated back in the day.
It's a bucket list item to come to one Penn State White Out game in Happy Valley before you die --- it literally will make you see the soul of God when you experience it in person!
@@johnsonspark171 I think NIL is here to stay but I do think it can help some athletes but hurt most of them --- the marginal athletes will think they are hot stuff and spend way too much of their time trying to get endorsement deals and other bullshit to earn some money instead of watching game film and becoming better players on the field --- deep down they know they won't make the NFL so they will spend all their efforts on cashing out their collegiate career for every last fucking dime --- it's gonna get really annoying for the fans who just wanna enjoy a normal football Saturday without hearing about "branding" for these athletes!

As a Penn State fan, I've been to many whiteout games including the game against Ohio State in 2016 where we won. But this game, by far, was my favorite. The energy and how loud it got was surreal. I sat in the upper North End Zone, first row behind metal plates and banged on them all night. Not only did I lose my voice but was pretty well bruised up along the arms, lol. I'd do it again in a heartbeat.
I have had tickets all over the stadium but never was up in the North Stratosphere. What's it like being that close to the Moon? LOL The South Upper section at least has seatbacks. I finally got season tickets years ago in the middle of ED and will never give them up!
As a Buckeye fan. I was very thankful Fox got the game this year. To me the whiteout is a 10-14 point advantage than the game played at noon. Incredible atmosphere.
I'd agree with you that a night Whiteout is a greater homefield advantage than a noon Stripeout. But even at Noon, Beaver Stadium is gonna be rocking when the Buckeyes come to town.
you're right on the money with 10-14, and i've seen a few dozen games there, whiteout is next level football. i can't imagine being in that as a visitor lol how awesome is that. or just being idaho in 2019, how overmatched can you get, and then the fans are just louder than anything you've seen in whatever western stadium you've been to as fan, much less as a player

It’s insane how loud college games at big schools get. Nfl stadiums usually between 60-80k seating. These big college schools push 100-110k
Can’t wait to recreate this in College Football 25 on July 19th
That sound guy needs a raise
I was at this game most insane environment I've ever been in. Beats all the concerts and festivals I've been to 10 fold. Goosebumps all around.
I was there. It was absolutely insane. I’ve been to multiple whiteouts, they never came close to that level of energy.
Was this a preseason game or something

I’m a Vols fan, Baker mayfield said Checker Neyland was the loudest most intimidating place to ever play at. Their center said the same thing and urban Meyer said in 2006 that was the loudest stadium he’s ever been in. With all that being said, I still put that as number 2 behind the penn st whiteout. This just looks like something u have to attend before you pass away. The whiteout the 106k+ screaming fans, the atmosphere and the seven nation army on a fall Saturday night, MAN!!! I have to attend one of these.
I agree. Would love to go to a Penn State game to compare. Loudest I’ve ever been to was UT Oklahoma
Wear a neutral jersey.
LSU is louder than Tennessee, so is A&M. Tennessee might be the loudest in the East though, but not second loudest in the country.
I’m a UGA Alum and was at Neyland in 2019 when we played there and the first quarter was obscenely loud before we got too far ahead. Stadium wasn’t even full either. I’ve been to auburn, Williams Bryce, Clemson, etc. Neyland probably the loudest. If Heupel keeps this thing going that place is gonna be unplayable for away teams.
georgia whoops that checkered crowd everytime🤣🤣
Being in the stadium this was the loudest thing I’ve ever heard in my life, my ears were ringing and my body was literally vibrating from the decibel level
i love when the fans get into the game
Anyone else watching this after they recreated this in College football 25

No, I'm not watching this after recreating it. That's because nobody has it and is incapable of recreating it. Who's special? You? That's right! Have your pops enroll you at the local academy for idiots.
No announcers no talking just pure vibes god I miss football
I've attended every white out game since 2007 except in 2019 for the birth of my son. However I vow to never miss another one.
I like your attitude! Attending your child's birth should be the ONLY reason to miss a Penn State White Out !!
Until the birth of ur daughter
2007 ....the joy of seeing jimmy Pickle run for his life...from the Penn State defense!! "I never thought the college game would be that much faster!"
That was the game that Charlie "I ate too much" Weiss said after the game that Notre Dame will NEVER play Penn State again! (Wonder what they're going to do when they are forced to join the B1G conference?)
THE Pennsylvania State University White Out is the reason Urban Meyer always hated that we picked aOSU as the opponent...I mean VICTIM for THE White Out!!
Went to go visit my buddy in Penn state on this weekend. Initially had planned to go to the tailgate and just wait at his place until the game was over. But instead, my roommate and I both dropped $27 20 mins before kickoff because we didn’t want to miss out. Our tickets were waaaayyy up in the nose bleeds but my buddy snuck us into the student section. First and only Penn state game I’ve attended and I’m so glad we decided to go. Unbelievable experience. Best $270 I’ve ever spent😂
LOL that is the effect the Penn State White Out has on people .... it changes your soul
@@tommitchell4570 I'm from Canada and this game turned me into a Penn State fan for life. I watch every Penn State that's available on TV and get so hyped when they win.
@@christiantaillon2930 You should make the pilgrimage! I have met people now at every White Out from all over. I met an older retired couple from Ireland that just saw a You Tube video of the White Out and made the trip to be there! ...I will say one thing...There is a reason it is called Happy Valley.....and when he opened his mouth and all the tailgaters heard his accent....all I can say is....those college kids might think they can drink...but that old Irishman was a professional at it!! I have no idea how he stayed vertical let alone walked a straight line!! Visitors are not allowed to go hungry or sober!!
@@josephcernansky1794 I went to Cancun several years ago, I was walking on the beach in the morning. Just as I was passing by a couple, they saw my hat and said "We are" and of course I responded "Penn State". There are Penn State fans all over lol.
Which was it, $27 or $270?
Wow, that intro is stuff dreams are made of! That was amazing, I am thoroughly impressed, especially when they started playing music just before the snap, lol! It would be hard to say no if you were on a recruiting trip during a white out game!
glad i wasn't the only one thinking that. How could you experience that as a 17/18 year old recruit and not want to sign right away
You should watch the video they play before the players come out of the tunnel. Basically pictures with the words "Our Towns" then "Our Cities" and they show Philly and Pittsburgh and then "Our State". Makes the crowd insane and gives me chills. Can not wait until September 2nd vs WVU.
It's how we got Saquon Barkley. He was committed to Rutgers but Franklin invited him to the WhiteOut. Barkley later said that he knew he wanted to be part of that experience.
How ever crazy it seems in this video, I can tell you it is way louder and way more goosebump inducing when you’re there in person. A whiteout at Beaver Stadium should be on every sports fan’s bucket list. You could argue that it should be on your bucket list even if you’re not a sports fan. What a spectacle. WE ARE!
As an LSU fan, I’m blown away at how Penn State creates the intense intro! Respect
I’ve been to both. I think LSU crowd is better.
@@dibsports sorry but the Penn State White Out is the loudest environment in college sports --- it's been proven by instruments
More broadcasts need to let the crowd set the scene more than the announcers. This is incredible. I know this is an edit, but imagine if they had more broadcasts that let the crowd go.
This isn't an edit, this is the raw footage from the sky cam
if SEC commentators did this majority of them would sound like this

I'm a Michigan fan and I sat near the end zone with a bunch of Penn State fans near me definitely a crazy game but I gotta give credit to Penn State fans they didn't give me any issues.
PSU fans make a point of being hospitable to the fans of opposing teams. If some of ours get out of line, some of ours will bring them back into line. Glad you had a good experience. Never go to Philly in the opposing team's jersey.
Just saw Penn State vs Illinois for the first ”White out Energy” game. So special, 109901 fans were there. Illinois had to call three time outs cause the fans, and anytime they looked confused the crowd somehow got louder. It’s like a White Tomb for any team who goes
I went to a Michigan vs Penn State college football game years and years ago when I was in middle school. By far, the loudest and craziest environment at a game I've ever been to in my life.
College footballs venues, the atmosphere, the PASSION, it's fucking glorious
Being a 10 year old boy in the stands cheering for penn state during that game was the happiest memory of my childhood. Being there cannot be compared to watching on tv
My friend brought his 12 year old son to the whiteout in 2021. He got to meet Saquon Barkley and a few of the alumni players that were NFL players as well. He told his dad that it was the best weekend of his life.

There are few places where everyone filling every seat in the stadium feels like they directly impact the game. This is one of them. From an LSU fan, kudos. Hope to experience it some time.

To the end of the Game when Penn State stopped them at the Goal Line. It was soo loud and amazing!!

Sitting front row student section for this game, was on tv for a couple seconds, camera right in my face, second best game I’ve been at. 2016 vs OSU takes the cake
Michigan alum here. Don't know about the most electric moment in college football history, but I do love how PSU nation gets behind their team. That white-out is impressive and cool and you have to respect that. Great tradition I hope lasts for generations to come.
Nothing is more exciting than the pregame entrance, hype music, fireworks and….a touchback. Bring back the kick return already!

College Football 25 gonna hit like crack when those squiggly lines tweaking on the Mo Bamba song 😂
Crazy how it only gets louder after the timeout
Ha. I was there and we were just pumped beyond belief before that time out. After it we realized that we had to power to affect the outcome of the game and we went insane. None of us could speak on the ride home, we'd all lost our voices.

They can play music until the center sets
This is the craziest energy I’ve ever seen in my life.
