What a fantastic guest, I've never hunted but have a .375 H&H because I read Death in the Long Grass and couldn't resist😊 I drive a lot and usually listen to podcasts. This was exceptional, I felt like a little boy again sat at the foot of a storyteller wide eyed and ravenous for more.
EXCELLENT videos. As an interviewer you do a good job- you let him talk while you ask the right questions and give subtle encouragement. You've also done you're pre-project homework.
Hi John ,I have only recently found this channel, l grew up in the bush & have learnt bush craft , hunting & the ways of the animals there, l must say that l find your programs very enjoyable & interesting, especially when you have Kevin Robertson on , l regard him as a Guru when it comes to hunting & animal behaviour. Keep up the Lekker work . 😊👍
I'm in Zimbabwe & frequent these same places being talked about - Makuti, Charara, Zambezi Valley & it's escarpment...I also know Paul Clarke, unfortunately he passed away a few years ago...The leopard around us absolutely love baboon more than anything else although they will take the odd domestic goat for dessert!...I've seen a female leopard on Antelope Island in Kariba getting harassed by a troop of baboons & also seen a pair of Lion on the main road between Karoi & Makuti recently...respect from Zimbabwe 🇿🇼
Pretty sure he does talk about it in one of John's other podcasts. Been a year since you made the comment, I'll see if I can find the episode number if you haven't found it yet. IIRC, 9.3x62 is his favorite buffalo *hunting* caliber, though when he was PH'ing, he carried a 505 Gibbs as PH/backup

Glad you enjoyed it! Kevin is an excellent story teller to be sure!
Check out Selvalore. Very good stories. Lot of stories about the cat hunter Jim Corbett
Love the hunt stories.
Such a pleasure have an interviewer who simply lets the PH talk until they move onto the next subject! Keep em coming!
Glad you enjoyed it!
Really like this channel and enjoy the episodes with Dr Kevin Robertson …
Thanks, glad you're enjoying it!
Another home run! Doc is, fortunately for us, a new national treasure.
Glad you enjoyed it! He's one of my favorite podcast guests to talk to.
I could listen to this stuff all day long its super interesting listening to a professional who has no ego just fact and experience

Really interesting. Had no idea of leopard's capabilities. My next visit to the zoo to see one will never be the same again.
Glad you enjoyed it!
Thanks again for yet another entertaining and educational topic!!!
Glad you enjoyed it!

Good idea. I've recorded 2 podcast episodes on the subject with him in the past. Just need to put them on UA-cam!
Great interviews…could ya get him to discuss the 9.3x62 for Buffalo…Thx

I can understand a whitetail class caliber being sufficient for leopard, but I would want something more stout for a lion.
Anything you guys want to talk about ill listen.
Yep leopards are a big pass for me lol 😂
