He was a genius because he didn’t have much education in schools where it’s mostly left-brain learning! He could use both sides of his brain, equally, which is what creates genius & connection to infinite intelligence! To do so, one is usually in alpha & theta brainwave. (Jose Silva)

Sadly, the interviewer is rather a bore.

I'VE OFTEN WONDERED WHY HE MAINTAINED THAT OVERLY CLIPPED AND VERY POSH ACCENT,. GIVEN HIS VERY MODEST UPBRINGING AND BACKGROUND, OF A SOUTH WEST LONDON SUBURB. ALTHOUGH HE MENTIONS THAT ACTORS NEED TO EXTEND THEIR RANGE OF SPEECH ETC, TO ENABLE THEM TO PLAY A WIDER RANGE OF CHARACTER'S, IT SEEM S TO ME THAT HE DELIBERATELY CHOSE TO SOUND SUPERIOR.

He doesn't sound superior - he's just clear and concise. What a pity more people aren't. Being an elocution teacher what I hear is incredible. 'Like' and 'basically' drive me raving bonkers!

It was the Transatlantic Accent, which was generally expected of actors and actresses during that time. Just listen to Cary Grant or Katherine Hepburn, for example. That didn't really change until the some time in the '60's.

@@juliamcintyre5012 An elocution teacher would know what the Transatlantic Accent is.

In the past if you spoke with an accent you were judged badly so people spoke with this accent, he wasn’t trying to sound superior, are you really suggesting regional accents are inferior, surely not!
