I have 2 surgieries on my knee ( 1 done 1 to go) and trying to make that work with 1st year study and trying to get in shape is fucking hard and I would never wish anyone to go through that kind of stuff it fucks with your mental and your way of taking is as a lesson just made me cheer up for future and I needed that. something that i noticed by my knees injurys is that playing at slow speed can make more efficent on shoothing mid range and long rage is like it helps to develope more space scannig and dribbling through small spaces and also be able to make more fouls calls. Keep going man you are really inspiring.

Just an fyi, you can hit a layup from anywhere if you practice it. Get used to beaming the ball off the backboard at similar (high) speed every time, from further and further away to bank it in(with high speed you take away variability in the shot). Some would call it a floater but there’s no float really. Height won’t matter anymore. I haven’t seen anyone do this in 20+ years and everyone always thinks I’m weird. But one dribble inside the 3-point line and I’m already laying it up and the defender’s in disbelief. Another one is people learn too many moves, spamming them until they get to the same step back and air ball. Learn to run around town at 80% speed from concrete off the curb, sharp turns, to grass. In your mind count to 3, then 2, then 3, then 1, alternating directions/hands, speeds based on seconds counted in your head. We need to be reacting to reality and the defender, not just mastering viral moves and dribbling 69 balls at once for 420 hours of the day. Last one. Put mats under the basket on either side. Start halfway from the free throw or anywhere back from that based on your height. Literally dive parallel to the ground to the mat for an underhand lay releasing at close to full extension. Get used to that feeling and the touch off the glass. Then start practicing with a defender. No Mats. Look at their armpits and visualize how you can sneak a layup to the right/left just under that area. We’re not diving anymore but you could if you got desperate in 1v1. See how it feels and changes your approach. Oh I almost forgot. Eat something you hate before a game. Not much, just a bit. Have you heard the term “ewww”? It will get your face ready to react to what you’re doing on the court.
I'm upset my core is 10x stronger than his but I'm 5"7 and all I can do is maybe touch rim on a good day lol. This dude got the potential to land on the moon
