3:58 - Gotta love how the notes spell out DJ HERO! :D
RockBandAddict666 Dude, I never noticed that
TR1PLE_6 wow that was dope!
I always liked that detail, that's why it's one of my favorite songs
This song always seems simple enough, until right at the end where it literally goes from 20mph to 200mph.
One of the best mixes in the game :) I miss this. Time to wip out DJ Hero now!
Definitely agreed. I missed it so much that I'm back at it!
Easily my pick for most fun song in the first game, still was thrilled the first time I got 5 stars on it, and you gotta love the DJ Hero words on the chart, something I didn't notice until this video, dang!
4:52 Finger Pain Simulator
What to say about DJ Hero? I still whip out the turntable once in a while to play a few songs. Definitely a game that i wouldn't mind to see make a comeback like Guitar Hero did. The live audience part of Guitar Hero Live would work in such an amazing way if a DJ Hero Live was to be made.
So happy to read a comment like this, honestly. I still have a spin when people bring it out at parties and immediately have to explain everything when I start FC'ing stuff. I love it, and it played such a huge part in my life - I don't regret any of it. Such a beautifully made game that shouldn't have died the way it did.
I would personally love artist specific games for this series like they did with guitar hero. Also I think some dubstep would work really well in this game
I agree
I can imagine an overhauled controller for that too. Like, instead of having three buttons on one turntable, maybe have two colored turntables, one on each side, then have the colored buttons on the same part as the effects knob and crossfader. It'd make it feel that much more like a real DJ table!
I wish they would bring this game back out. Was one of those games out there that was a gem for those that loved it and played it. Would love to see it back out but this time with maybe more trance/hard house stuff and less rap and pop
+Daniel And then there was Guitar Hero Live...
***** Yeah...but there is hope for it. They brought back Guitar Hero and maybe if us fans who loved both DJ Hero 1 and 2, if we let them know, you never know what would happen. Heck, if they gave it the same makeover they gave to the new Guitar Hero, I think I would be down for that. You get to be the DJ at different raves/clubs and have live people there, a great set list and an online service - would be awesome
Try Spin Rhythm XD on Steam. I went back to look at this to see how it played since I never tried it even though I played Guitar Hero and Rock Band and Spin Rhythm is for more unique and quite frankly better than this.
DJ Hero tried to tie itself too heavily to the Guitar Hero formula with the 3 buttons, the switch acting as a strum bar and the other thing working as a whammy bar. Spin Rhythm's controls are simpler with only two buttons and no switches but moving the turntable (I play with mouse and keyboard but you can play it with a MIDI compatible turntable) is a core part of the game (hence "Spin" Rhythm) rather than an afterthought in DJ Hero. The charts are focuses too heavily on tapping and flicking the switch, the turntable is barely even used except for a rewind gimmick.
Spin Rhythm is what this game should have been.
5:05 If you can listen closely, you can hear Kristoph@ the end say "Holy Shit." XD
:)
This was very hard for me at the time!
Hey Kristoph. Me and a guy named "Nib Roc", are trying to revitalize the Dj Hero Series. Nib Roc does it by making his own mixes (check out his channel, most of his mixes are sick), and I contribute by coming up with ideas for the game and learning to code so we can have a Dj Hero Prototype. All of our current work are essentially concept, and we know that making the game become reality, will take a LOT of effort. (Licensing, coding, community support, marketing, etc.) Even with all this, Dj Hero has become such a big part of my life that I dream to make this game, even if it takes 10 or more years to do so.
If you want to chat, my SoundCloud is Adrian Chavez. I'll provide you with most of my ideas for the sequel that I personally think you'll love.
Hey dude!
I just checked out some of his mixes and these legitimately sound like they belong in the game. Most people just mash two songs together and think it's cool but this stuff is actually like studio quality incredible. I'm even picturing the charts in my head right now.
If a DJ Hero Revival project were to happen, I'd be 100% in and I'd help out wherever I could to be honest. You two have something on your hands here, and I'd love to be part of it. I was thinking of doing this a few years back but life took over - but you guys have the time and the resources.
Please keep at it! I imagine it would take a lot of effort to get this going but the right amount of passion and dedication will get you there. Feel free to message me or leave comments if you want my assistance and I'll be in touch. :)
oh yes! sure! thank you!
btw, I copy pasted these, since these are long:
Alright, I have an idea that I REALLY like, and that I highly think should be implemented in the game.
Like in previous Guitar Hero and Dj Hero entries are Star Power and Euphoria, which generally doubles the multiplier. Guitar Hero Live upped that power-up aspect with Hero Power, which gave 7 different kinds to choose from. It was a good idea, but has heavy flaws; Hero Power required in-game currency to use for one time, and a few were bad (Invincibility was basically Clear Highway, but better). Not to mention, Guitar Hero Live is clearly Pay to Win and uses other methods to grab your cash. (It's not FSG's fault, but Activision's).
Anyways, I digress. Hero Power and Power Decks inspired me to think of Power-Ups for Dj Hero 3. I've thought of 17, and there are two types: Active and Passive. Active Power-Ups can be triggered by building up a meter, like Star Power and Euphoria. When filled, you can activate it with the Euphoria button, and it will unleash its effects temporarily until it stops and you build it up again. Passive Power-Ups are active throughout the whole mix, and are not prompted via button.
Here they are!
Power(Active)- Doubles Multiplier
Bliss(Active)- Automatically Scratches
Rapture(Active)- Automatically Taps
Euphoria(Active)- Automatically Crossfades
Dial Down(Active)- Decreases Difficulty
Safety Net(Active)- Missing notes will not affect your Multiplier
Impulse(Active)- Mistaps will not break your Combo
Wipeout(Active)- Removes all notes off the highway and counts them as hit and scored.
Effects Boost(Passive)- Triggering the Effects Zone Triples the Multiplier instead of Doubling it.
Rewind Ready(Passive)- Start with a Rewind
Advantage(Passive)- Automatically receive max points for Freestyle sections.
Armored(Passive)- Missing a note decreases Multiplier by 1 instead of resetting it.
Sharpened(Passive)- Minimum Multiplier is 2.
Catch Up(Passive)- Decreases consecutive notes required to increase Multiplier to 5 instead of 8
One Up(Passive)- Raises max Multiplier to 5 instead of 4
Hyper(Passive)- Sets note speed to max and increases base score by 30% (subject to change)
Supremacy(Passive)- Increases base score by 10% (subject to change) for every 100 note streak.
These Power-Ups are NOT one-time Consumables, they just need to be unlocked via non-premium in-game currency. Only one Power-Up can be used per mix, and can be switched between mixes (if you have a setlist on). Playthroughs with these Power-Ups will go on the Leaderboards, unless cheats are activated. You can also have the option to play without a Power-Up. I'm also thinking of a mode where you can have two Power-Ups on at the same time, but that mode will have to have a separate Leaderboard, and limit it to Passive-Passive and Active-Passive (because it would be impossible to have Active-Active with one Euphoria button).
Actually, Active-Active CAN be possible. You just have to press the button and both will be activated at the same time.
Another great idea in my opinion would be what I would call the "Chalice System".
One of the things to strive for in the "Hero" series is to get the highest amount of points, as well as get the full 5 stars. Once you get 5 stars, you think what now? This is where the chalice system takes place. You basically earn chalices by a top tier on the leaderboard.
Here's how it goes:
Bronze (for placing top 20% in the leaderboards for that mix)
Silver (placing top 5%)
Golden (top 1%)
Pearl (top 100)
If you qualify for both Gold and Pearl Chalices (it can happen) you'll automatically get the Pearl. Those who own Pearl will have a number on it, showing where they place in the top 100. Anyways, this is just another thing to strive for, and is especially good for players who want to see how they compare with others who did the same mix. My idea came from Overwatch's Competitive mode Leagues if you were wondering. I was going to call them "trophies" but that can be confused with Playstation Trophies, so I decided not to call it that.
Other neat ideas I have goes as follows:
Perfectionist- a setting that you can add to your mix playthrough if you insist on getting a Full Combo. What it does is automatically restarts the mix if you were to break your combo. It saves the time of having to pause and restart.
Barebones- Playing without Power-Ups. This has its own leaderboards. (normally you'd play with one Power-Up)
Frenzy- Playing with two Power-Ups. This has its own leaderboards. I thought this would be really fun to play with, trying to find what combinations (there's 136, I did the math :D)gives the best score potential.
Blind- Pretty Self-Explanatory. The mix gives you a signal to let you know when to begin, but other than that, there are nothing displayed on the highway (besides Score, Multiplier, Power-Up Meter, and Star Meter)
I have many likes and dislikes with Guitar Hero Live. I LOVE the GHTV, it's a great way to manage playability. But what basically dulls it down is the pay-to-win model the whole game practically has. For Dj Hero 3, I want to incorporate the "channel" system, but add more diversity and fun. I want more channels than GHL, and add challenge to them.
Basically how this would work is have 2 channels constantly cycle setlists with certain themes (you can play these mixes individually too). Some themes may contain "triplet" mixes (think "Integalactic", "Disturbia", "Hollaback Girl", etc.), while others may be scratch-themed, or have funk genre, to name a few. These sets contain 2 to 4 mixes and will last 30 minutes before moving on to the next one. Another channel can last 1 hour, have 4-7 mixes, and have certain rules. Completing all mixes in a setlist, and/or completing its challenges will give you a prize containing currency, consumables, and cosmetics. I would also like to add a channel which setlist lasts 24 hours each setlist, and have special rules (Score Elimination, Ban/Protect Power-Ups, Sabotage Battle, etc.).
I also want to talk in-game currency.
Dj Points- they are mainly earned by completing Mixes & Challenges, as well as leveling up. You can use these to buy cosmetics from the shop.
Plays- Like GHL, you can play any mix you want in the game with plays. If you run out, you can get more by leveling up, completing Channel Setlists, and paying with Dj Points. Mixes in Channel Setlists do not require Plays to play.
Permakeys- used to permanently unlock mixes. Can be attained by leveling up, buying with Plays or real money, or other means by simply playing the game.
Platinum- Premium currency used to get more Dj Points, Plays, and Permakeys.
This text will cover cosmetics.
Cosmetics have 5 different rarities: Common(White), Rare(Jet Blue), Epic(Royal Purple), Legendary(Golden Yellow), and Mythic(Iridescent). The higher the rarity, the more rare, expensive, and valuable they are. These cosmetics can be attained by completing different Challenges, earning "Packs"(more on that later), and from the Shop. There are different types of Cosmetics:
Clothing - Shirts, Sweaters, Hats, Pants, Belts, Wrist, Neck Accessories, Shoes, Scarfs, Masks, Helmets, Makeup, Capes, Costumes, etc. (Natural Body features like skin color, body type, face structure, etc. are all unlocked and free to use).
Turntables - Many different turntables that you can acquire with many skins to choose from.
Highways - Customize how your highway looks with different themes
Player Tag - Choose what tag best represents you.
Intros/Outros - How your character will appear when you begin/end; win/lose the mix.
The Shop only contains some random cosmetics available to buy with Dj Points, but will cycle to a new batch of cosmetics every 24 hours, or by manually cycling it with Dj Points. Cosmetics in the Shop never contain anything you already have.
Packs contains cosmetics, currency, and consumables, that can be earned, or bought with Dj Points or Real Money. Packs have random prizes, and can contain duplicates(which are converted to Dj Points). There are many different kinds of Packs, some guarantee Epics and Legendaries, while some don't but offer big amounts of prizes.
You’re the best. 👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻
I never knew Stephen hawking made a mix tape
Watching this is true _satisfaction_
you are so LEGEND!!!
Insane!!!
I got to learn your two handed technique man. You make it look so damn easy :O
Tremendo videasoooooo, muuuuuy buenooooooo.♥️
Wow i played this song aleast 100 times but never noticed the DJ HERO thing.
loved this game back in the day, listened to it when I took mdma for the first time, the intro still gives me goosebumps and a tingly feeling reliving the high to this day nearly 10 years later
I think this is probably the ideal track for that haha
Damn your great !
haha yeah I got it the other day, so I knew what it was I just saw automatic fading and had no idea what was going on haha. good videos by the way.
100% , such satisfaction...
Great!
Yeeeeeeeah more I want more.
You'll get plenty more if you stay tuned in 2015! :)
Thanks man your the best. :-D
Incredible on how you make this look easy...
I hate to say this but on future vids, go easy on the tuning knob...
It distorts the music...
I still cant do the last 30 seconds and I've been at this since it came out
That last 30 seconds is really hard!
and boom boom pow
I 5-starred this and was so proud of myself but this puts me to shame. XD
i was being facetious
WOW
Strange song.
Easy to get 5 stars, hardest to FC (imo)
Great job anyway !
I understand that you want to earn the most points... You can make more with and without the tuner going for the highest score...
Or I wish they would create something like Rocksmith but for those who love EDM. A controller that you can use to create real mixes with on the computer as well as learn how to use it within the game itself. I would pay the money for something like that. Used to mix hard house back in the day but skills have become rusty and would love something like this to teach not only the basics of mixing but also other techniques as well
That would be more of a pain than it'd be worth for a developer to release it. At least with guitar it's a preset note chart and tune. Fairly easy to do. Now for the game to teach someone how to actually mix any 2 tracks would be nearly impossible. Still would be nice, but the price tag would probably be $250.
Did no one notice he wasn't moving the nob back and forth at the end 4:55(green line). Am I missing something here?
So that's called Euphoria, it's like a power-up and it enables automatic crossfading
Thats not true, cheater
Kristoph, what is your favorite mix out of both dj hero games?
I request a Firestarter FC! In my opinion, it is the hardest song in DJ Hero 2 and it's the only song I struggle to get 5 stars on.
WOAH @.@
Dude, that honestly was very impressive :D
I've been close to getting a 100% myself but, that little part in the end screws me over :/
T-shirt dj hero ^^
Push Me Pusssh me Touch me!!!!!
Yep
I mean your awesome as always but i'm sure you heard that all the time :-D
How long did it take you to do this
Isn't that one of the only two mixes you gave 10 on difficulty? And i know this is a noob question, but is there any way i can play the battle mixes in dj hero 2 with only one controller? like with cheats or something?
How long did it take you to perfect your two handed technique :-P
This song was fucking torture haha
I see.
Hey you think that they'll ever bring this back for next gen?
Extremely unlikely since the studio is pretty much gone now. I think 1 and 2 is all we'll ever get :(
@@IKARUS-RG I wouldnt even care if it came to us as a backwards capability title I will go on Ebay and find a turntable
Soulo Dolo I didnt gave up the hope but its been so long without any teasers or trailers....
Still having hope 4 years later EPIC GAMES YOU KNOW WHAT TO DO!!!
Needs hd versión this song
Hey where did you get that blue colour deck from? O.o
@kristoph212 acually jsaw10's video was 2 years ago janedekee's video was 3 years ago so technicly they did it first not jsaw
4:57 how? iknow
Real rap
4:57, who was fading?
I remember gaming you back in the days when this game first came out. You wasted me of corse. I had number one spots for a few songs on the leader board till you came along 😥
Haha dude I haven't forgotten either! Such good times hey!
KristophDJHero yea bro, wish I still had the game
i am cryng for dj hero 3
Didn't move the fader at the end
EUPHORIA USED
@@IKARUS-RG They're still questioning you? Man, you inspired me to break out my DJ Hero and be better. Salute.
People just don't know hey
Tell me... How do you do the bit when it spells DJ HERO?
Two hands!
But i subscriped to him
Bro 4:59 that's a fake
That's called Euphoria and it's part of the game, it does crossfading for you automatically. Like Guitar Hero's Star Power it gives you bonus points too. Not fake, lmao
@@IKARUS-RG okey sorry
just like 4 scratches :-(
Origami you don't know kristoph as well as you think bro. :-P
Eric Sinibaldi ehh
Eric Sinibaldi i just simply like scratching
Well if that's the case bro. Fine by me :-P
Eric Sinibaldi EHH
Dude you are the fucking man. I what what were you are a real DJ. Please tell the truth :O
Do women know, that you can just obliterate the vage 'till, they can't speak correctly? lolol
they do
hey for 4:25 i can hit all that with one hand
My opinion, this is harder then groundhog. Of course I can make 4 stars on this on expert... Not on groundhog... Whatever..
its a fake video... I dont believe him coz hes not sliding phases after min 5.15 watch his hands carefully just pressing buttons but not sliding its probably a intro video for song
Sorry for the 7-year late response, but in DJ Hero, there a thing called euphoria (it's kinda like star power) and it does auto crossfading (what you called "sliding") on top of doubling your score.
You are using a bot
didnt you have perfect cross fade ... cheater
lol he used a cheat
nah
shellshock10 i knew something looked fishy, right near the end. maybe he has all the cheats enabled. this guy is a phony!
Learn how Euphoria works before commenting next time...
lol you don't know how to play
Euphoria is literally one of the main components of the gameplay. It's not a freaking cheat.
Cheating lol
No cheats, just Euphoria
