काठमाण्डाैमा अबैध चरा व्यापार | Shocking Illegal Bird Trade in Kathmandu

Illegal bird trade is one of the major threats faced by Nepal's wild birds, but this issue is often overlooked. Shockingly, even critically endangered birds like yellow-breasted bunting can be seen openly traded in Kathmandu's markets. Our research shows illegal bird trade in Nepal is thriving, and it needs immediate action. Greenhood Nepal is documenting the illegal bird trade in Nepal, helping enforcement agencies to take action to control the trade. We are also raising public awareness on how most wild birds found in the market are illegal to purchase and carry heavy fines and punishment for possession. This video summarises the insights from our recent research and the status of the illegal bird trade in Kathmandu.
