XL Extreme Demon Layout - The Cellar Path

- DISCLAIMER: This footage is of a cut/spliced run and is only for showcasing purposes. (I know that's obvious but there are some people out there that might still not realize that). Also I know I spelled "Appear" wrong. I'll fix that in the final level.
This is by far my best layout that I've ever made. I've been working on this on and off for months. I spent so much time fine tuning and balancing the gameplay and I am incredibly proud of the final result.
I will be decorating this, maybe streaming some of the process. My idea is of a hidden path in an old abandoned cellar, that takes you to all sorts of ruins and caverns full of mystery. It starts off as a crawlspace (hence the tight ship) and then starts opening up into a vast underground world. I'll probably go for a Zylenox-esque style for the decoration.
The interesting thing about my gameplay here is that almost the whole level is confined in a dual. That was super hard to get working but hopefully I ironed out all the bugs with that... I really like the closed off aesthetic that gives the level, and I tried to make more curvy ship gameplay that's a lot more fun with the dual ship physics.
I will try to verify this myself when it's done. It's hard to say how hard this level is, but from what I know now I think it might be around blade of justice difficulty? Really hard to say though, at least it's defiantly harder than bloodbath and will also be my new hardest.

Hi this isn’t that relevant but I wanted to play this level for a while and now that it has been rated I have been trying to play it but the transition at 23% is bugged

I actually have the same concept about the gameplay a while back, which is having a static camera and heavier gravity from the dual gamemode. 👀

The dual gets consistent with practice and the part after isn't too bad, but I could defiantly see nerves getting a lot of people there lol

Having done a practice run of this level, I can say that the ship parts are A LOT harder than they look. They look easy enough to do when you see them, but the sign at the beginning does not lie, the ships are a lot heavier than they look. This is because the entire level (except for the end) is in dual mode, which means you'll be playing with dual ship physics which are, for some reason, different than normal ship physics and make the ships heavier than they are normally.
yea but also I tried to use very little straightfly and implemented a lot of curvy ship gameplay, once you get used to those parts they're actually really fun and consistent
@@JamAttack I've only done one practice run of this level, so I can't say anything about the consistency, but the fact that there's very little straight fly makes the ship parts a lot more fun than if they were reliant on straight fly. Plus, I kinda suck at straight fly so the curvy ship gameplay is very welcome.

A bit late, but this is so cool! An extreme demon with a static camera is definitely something that you would make.
I feel this level gives off that feeling of discovering something forgotten, maybe having callbacks to other levels or something like that.

Dude this is awesome. The overall gameplay is pretty nice, each part has its own gimmicks and unique structures(that flying copter very satisfying to watch). And the way you used straight gameplay for almost the whole level is executed very well! Well done!

@@nosynked2755 the entire level uses dual mode for the fixed camera, and dual ships are heavier than regular ships which is a gameplay gimmick that I tried to play into
