Nicely done! The Leica UK team used the same cases to carry all the SL3 cameras to the recent UK launch! I have a similar video planned (but on a much smaller scale) for 4x5. I love to travel light and now I shoot more 4x5 I had to find a solution! (Like you I have to risk not carrying a changing bag and load when I get there to save space (and/or use a 120 roll film back but that's not helpful for 8x10!). Lisbon is great.

Hello Tony. Travelling with that beautiful beast is half the work or maybe more then that 🤣. Something i don't understand is many people say that sends film by mail to the destination, but that doesn't mean the film don't passes through x-rays scanners. Probably go through a few at least. Big hug from Portugal 👍

Hello my friend! While mail does get scanned, the intensity of those scanners does not damage film. It's only these new 3D imaging CT scanners that cause us photographers problems. Thanks for watching!

Would love to go to Lisbon or even Porto. I might just stick to 4x5 though. Enjoy your trip.

Tony, you are amazing and your video is fantastic as always.... great tips and very engaging.... love your work.... you only showed 2 out of 55 sheets of 8x10 from Portugal , very keen to see more, especially the delta100 ones, love them more than expensive velvia/ektar .... where can we see more ?

That is very humbling to hear. I appreciate your support. The truth is that I haven't drum scanned my black and white images. Perhaps that could be another video if there is interest. Thank you for taking the time to watch! 😎

Very informative video, Tony. Thank you! I'm a bit confused, though... If you carried your exposed film back among personal carry-on, isn't that run through the scanners? Kind of hard to have exposed film hand checked. 🙃

Hi Alan. That’s a great question. In 2018, the x-ray machines didn’t damage low ISO film. If memory serves me correctly, Lisbon security did have me pass the exposed film through the machine. I would never attempt this with a CT scanner today. Thanks for watching! 😎

    Packing 8x10 is never fun.
