I just watched you blow paint all over your walls and have a crazy laugh! I loved the painting you ended up with. My problem is that I watch UA-cam on my tv and can't figure out how to comment on there. And when I go to UA-cam on my phone I often can't find the right video.

@@suefeil183 hi Sue. I know your comment was written 6 months ago so you may have figured out how to find the videos on your phone. If you haven’t, you can try this:
      1) log in to your UA-cam account on your television
      2) watch the video
      3) then go to your phone and make sure you’re logged into your UA-cam account. Look at your history. The video you watched on your TV should be the last video listed in your history. I hope this helps!

Well that was exactly everything in a nutshell. That’s why it takes me so long to select what type of pour, what colors, what substrate, do I want pigments, what pouring medium, what consistency, what size (that’s actually top 1 or 2) So many options with only an idea I have in my head that’s impossible to replicate. Try so hard! However most of my duds turned out my favs :) Professor Tammy, that was a college course in art.

I do actually believe that Rinske Douna who invented the dutch pour - both puddle and line versions - does still blow the base color over the added on colors (even with the lines of paint across the canvas version) to create a softer, more etherial look to the blow out. I believe it may have been Kanella or Molly that got the idea to try it without blowing the base color over as (whichever one did it) wanted to go for a more vibrant look, decided she did like that and kept doing it that way from then on. But Rinske always has blown the base color over from what I've seen, even in the version with the thin lines across the canvas rather than the puddle) because she truly loves the softer, more etherial look, as do I. It's just artistic preference at that point but I gravitate to Rinske's preference on that as well with either style. Both can be beautiful, though, depending on what one is going for.

      Well said. I agree.

    • @tammyandersonart
      @tammyandersonart  3 роки тому

Absolutely. We'll I find with the white surrounding the colors you have to be very careful on how you move the paints because if you blow at the wrong direction and end up pushing alot of that white over the color itself it can look dull but you see in this video when I did it its vibrant and thats because I aimed right at the puddle of color. But your right it's all personal preference and to be honest as long as I'm pouring paint I love it all lol

This video helped me understand EXACTLY what I was and was not doing correctly...THANK YOU for helping me understand what I needed to do!!

I love will be purchasing the Puffy2000 thing. Hopefully that will keep my hair and necklaces out of the paint lol. BTW I ❤ ❤ ❤ this painting...I actually loved the first one as well! Thank you again for helping me understand how to fix what I was doing incorrectly!!

Why do you use a torch? Also, what torch do you use or recommend. I haven’t done a pour yet but am looking forward to starting. Thanks for the information.

I really like the second version as well, I do not like blowing the white over my Dutch pour colors because it really mutes the colors and I prefer bright and vibrant. How do you mix colourarte primary elements to add to a Dutch pour?

Wow! I am brandy new to pouring. New as in I've just recently gotten up the nerve to actually try some pours on 4 inch tiles, completely open to the probability of failure. I finally figured that's the only way I'll ever learn, and fail I did. But I'm loving the learning. I have been learning so much from UA-cam U generally, but I have to say this video has taught me an amazing amount. You're a great teacher. Thank you, thank you, thank you and I plan to binge watch many other videos of yours.

Thank you so much for the great video. I do have one question though. You mentioned that Prizm pour is semi transparent , are the ColourArte pigments semi transparent as well?

you do realize that once you pour, some of the Floetrol will be mixing into the paints that you are trying to keep it out of, right? Personally, I would use as little as possible, period Has anyone tried other thinners/extenders to find if they will help achieve similar results? Lowe's used to, and may still, sell a glaze that had lots of shine in it It was relatively inexpensive & I think it may help achieve the same as the Floetrol? It's purpose was to extend the working time of other paints & it did it without altering the color. I am too new to these techniques to be a good judge or I would have checked it out myself Would you maybe try it & check back to let us know? Thanks for your vids

Question: why don’t you tape the backs of your canvases? I do and I still get it on the backside of the canvas! Messy.

I prefer a black, or dark, background because of the way black makes the other colors pop. It especially makes the white shout.

Do you have a link to the hairdryer at all that hairdryer thing to do so much better than mine my hairdryer seems to blow a lot more on the sides then in the centre
