Thanks so much. That was such a helpful video! It's great to see a company going above and beyond. Any other company (especially IKEA) would just send a crappy install manual, but this video is so much better.

Thanks for the great video! Just a general question: will inside of the chimney, the wall behind it and electrical cord become very greasy from cooking oils? They are not really visible, but do you recommend washing occasionally? Thanks!

And the reason you shouldn't use a recirculating hood with above 900 cfm is that the filters can;t handle that much airflow very well and you would have to change out the filters very frequently.

It all depends on how much cfm you need. It is always better to duct the smoke and heat out of your kitchen, but if you can't, and you need less than 900 cfm, then you can use a recirculating hood. To determin your cfm needs on a gas stove take you BTU and divide it by 100, so a 100,000 btu stove would need at lest 1000 cfm.

That is how you make an instructional video.

What if you have a gas oven and stove. Is Recirculating the proper way?

As far as electrical work goes, it is different depending on where you live, so I am not going to advise you to do anything other than check with your local building codes or a licensed electrician. Sorry.
