I like snaps card acquisition system better than mtg arena, hearthstone and even pocket. It is a level up system which is common in other genres. Card games have had the pack system for so long it is hard to break out of that mindset. SD don't have to make chaff to sell under this system. We also have agency over getting cards in spotlights, assuming you aren't gambling. I am missing a few EX Pokemon in Pocket and I either have to open 100 packs (for pack points) or get lucky.
Its better than it was. Trust me. Its still bad but right now the card releases went out of control and they need to change things. And they are. Theyve been working on it. The spotlight system took a few months and then tokens took a few months before that.
I can't say anything about playing Arishem, but playing against the changes looks good. There are fewer shenanigans in the early stages, and the dupe protection is good because I'm sick of double Shang or even the Shadow King. Ultimately I think Arishem can weather the storm.
The arishem change absolutely hurts his decks a bit, but i don't think he's a dead card like some people are saying. I like the lack of duplicate cards added. No double tech cards is nice
This is gonna sound like a hot take, but I really don't think it actually is: I do not think the nerf to Arishem makes him meaningfully worse, and I think SD knows that. They stated in the patch notes that the winrate is within a healthy range but the playrate is too high. What that tells me is that they don't actually want his decks to perform worse, they just wanna make them seem worse so that he'll be played less. I think the only deck building consideration that needs to be updated is switching out Coulson for Valentina. Otherwise he's the same card that still does all of the big stuff he used to do. He's still free ramp and he'll still generate the perfect answer sometimes. The whackest part about the change is that Arishem's playrate is only so high because of the issues with card acquisition. If they really wanna make him less appealing, that's what they need to fix. It's like putting a band-aid on a bullet wound; it's better than nothing but it's not really gonna solve any problems.
I think the Arishem change was unnecessary since arishem's win rate was fine but i'm happy that I'll see less arishem because he was really annoying to play against.
Arishem Question - Happy. Everyone whining but claiming it's because they like playing random cards, well you can still play random cards. Hopefully the winrate goes down, got sick of facing it every other match and having no way to plan what to play around or anticipate in any way. Even when I played it, it still felt too consistent, and being able to double shang chi or double alioth was ridiculous.

Tbh for me i think the arishem change is fine, it changes the way people will have to play or think but its not dead. Im not a fan of things changing and everyone immediately calling it dead >.> It'll still be strong just obviously a lot less crazy burst at the start
No matter what cards i get, there's always some more that feel essential...i got wiccan, now i feel i need alioth and gwenpool. Move i already dismissed, cause no arana
Arishem still seems meta. I have been rolled by Thanos and non Thanos versions since the ota. Of course put Cassandra in a deck and they all vanish. I am not sure that the nerf has gone far enough tbh.
Hell of a video! I think the Arishem change helps, but it definitely doesn't kill it. First game on after the OTA was against it. I'm interested to see who cracks it first.
I understand why the change was necessary. But I am def tired of shelling out hard earned tokens and keys for cards that just get nerfed. All my keys are spent atm. From herd on our I can only get 2 cards per month most likely. I think if you subscribe you should be able to get 3 of the 4 cards per month.
Arishem definitely took a hit. Not playing wave or coulson turn 2. So i think hes gonna be so much more niche. Buts i like that now the deck has more consistency. 12 cards instead of 15
I like Arishem, but I'm not very good with him so I don't play him much (it's rare that I get good cards from him, and I feel like I never got the cards I put in it!) and I feel it's the same when I play against Arishem. Yeah, occasionally, they would have 2 Shang Chi, but it was never frustrating to play against...not like when you play the extraordinary annoying Goon Night/Galacta/Move/Mill... but ok, the excuse "We want you to not have an annoying experience..." is BS. I feel like the top players are more annoyed by Arishem than the rest of players because they can't predict what can happen. But, I like that Arishem can't have any dupes anymore.
Im not sure how viable is arishem no but that is simply a fun card, it doesn't need to be op, its a fun deck so im happy woth it having more challenging gameplay
They could have left Arishem alone and made a change where you can’t play him in Conquest. Or if you play him in Conquest he will have the stats they just cooked up.
I'm really sad to see Arishem nerfed. Nonetheless, I bet the complaints won't stop. I really hope Arished stays a part of the meta. His decks are always a lot of fun to play.
Seemed like a poor reason to nerf a deck. It’s played too much? I’ll have to try it before I have an answer. But hey I’d love a chance at a season pass. 😂
Arishem change sucks because of the philosophy behind it - "too many people enjoy this card, so we're going to nerf it, so we can sell them other cards to enjoy". For reference, I can only build ONE of today's video decks - with replacements - as I have the audacity not to own Galacta, Frigga, Ajax, Fenris or Wiccan. I'm still going to play the hell out of Arishem for my dailies and Alliance missions, and that's pretty much everything I'm ever doing with this game anymore.
I didn't like the Arishem change, since the card is fun and the win rate with it isn't too high. I do understand it though. The card was unfun to play against for many.
I absolutely don’t understand why Daken wasn’t buffed since it’s in spotlights next week. It’s one of my favorite cards conceptually but it’s awful right now…and has been underwhelming since it launched.
arishim is still beating my midrange decks almost all the time, so back to T1 retreats for no. No reason to try playing vs Arishem unless you are hunting it.
@@vyctordias4764 Wiccan and Arishem now get the same amount of total energy (barring an early Wiccan), so I think it should still be able to compete. Plus the real power of Arishem has always been playing 4+ energy cards a turn early, which he still does. The card that took the biggest hit was Coulson, which makes sense because SD internal data showed that he was the most winning card in that deck. It's overall a very minor nerf, but I do also understand that your favorite deck getting taken down a notch is a legitimate feel bad.
Wait now hydra Bob is not a requirement in any deck?! I just used 6,000 points based on your last couple of weeks of saying if you don't have Hydra Bob you should get it 😅
I think the Arishem change is... interesting. I've been trying him in Space's "Reverse Chavez" shell. You can play Quicksilver and Domino on 1 and 2, then ramp into 4s and 6s on the following turns
What do I think of the Arishem change? Bad, bad, bad. Unnecessary, uncalled for, damaging for the low-CL players. Arishem has always relied upon a strong early curve: Cable, Loki, Coulson, Wave into Thanos - all of it is now gone. No dublicate cards anymore. The archetype is effectively dead.
I like the Arishem changes for the most part, the biggest unfun factors in duplication and early pressure have been removed or reduced and it still looks like a solid deck overall.
Arishem changes are fine in a vacuum but should have happened right after the release... Now they acknowledge themselves that the card is finally balanced but they have to listen to crybabies complain about it and also they nerfed it becuase it's too popular?? WHERE IS DRAFT MODE AND FUN GAME MODES AND STUFF SD I DONT CARE ABOUT 20$ BUNDLES
I haven't played Arishem since the OTA, but I think it's a good change. It removes the T1 Loki that felt really bad, but still keeps Arishem playable and fun. I like that he only adds new cards now too.
I liked the nerf, and I still think it will be a meta card. Arishem as it was was very oppressive and not at all fun to play against. It's just a matter of time before they find a solution and it will still be a meta
I hope that this change can make meta better, Arishem is a pain, that extra energy was (will still be after turn 3) an exploit, the extra 15 cards wasn't even a drawback if everything they got was something that seemed designed for the opponent,
I really enjoy you putting in the future bundles to save for. That helps a lot.
The only thing getting crushed rn is SD for their lousy card acquisition system 🎉

arishim is still beating my midrange decks almost all the time, so back to T1 retreats for no. No reason to try playing vs Arishem unless you are hunting it.
The arishem change sucks.
Yeah, right? The only way to compete with wican for those who didn't get it 😮💨
@@vyctordias4764 Wiccan and Arishem now get the same amount of total energy (barring an early Wiccan), so I think it should still be able to compete.
Wiccan adds the same energy at an arguably lower cost. Arishem was fine before. Nerfing him sucks. And yes Valentina slots better now into arishem
Wait now hydra Bob is not a requirement in any deck?! I just used 6,000 points based on your last couple of weeks of saying if you don't have Hydra Bob you should get it 😅
Just bought Bob and now I guess I'm saving for Fenris.
The fact that Arishem no longer gives doubles is the biggest change.
I think arishem is still playable after the change, but I don’t think he’ll be as good, the deck lost a lot of play lines
Not a deck I play all that much so don`t mind the Ari change
Commenting for the algorithm. Your content is top notch.
I think arishem fine rn it does not that oppresive
I think the Arishem change is... interesting. I've been trying him in Space's "Reverse Chavez" shell. You can play Quicksilver and Domino on 1 and 2, then ramp into 4s and 6s on the following turns
What do I think of the Arishem change? Bad, bad, bad. Unnecessary, uncalled for, damaging for the low-CL players.
Arishem has always relied upon a strong early curve: Cable, Loki, Coulson, Wave into Thanos - all of it is now gone. No dublicate cards anymore. The archetype is effectively dead.
My heart hurts every time i see the deck ”needs” section. 😓
I like the Arishem changes for the most part, the biggest unfun factors in duplication and early pressure have been removed or reduced and it still looks like a solid deck overall.
Arishem era is gone, I feel he is much weaker
Wiccan dominated the ladder now
Arishem is mid now
U get back draw and u can retreat
Is not worth it for 3 rounds of energy advantage with so many unnecessary cards
Ppl overreact
Arishem is fine
Ppl can still p round 4 legion
Round 5 alioth
i cannot use any of these lol
Arishem is dead
More inconsistent now
Arishem changes are fine in a vacuum but should have happened right after the release...
Good game became pure crap!
Arishem is still ok. Im sure in a couple of days new Arishem decks will pop up. This card wasnt too oppressive. But sometimes it had perfect answers.
I hope that this change can make meta better, Arishem is a pain, that extra energy was (will still be after turn 3) an exploit, the extra 15 cards wasn't even a drawback if everything they got was something that seemed designed for the opponent,
I'm glad arishem is nerfed, annoying to play against it in conquest.
I'm ok with the Arishem change - I think it'll help bring down his numbers, but not completely make him unplayable
