This was soooo amazing! I heard the story many times, but this was an amazing touch of storytelling that created many revelations for me. Thanks for the amazing content and keep up the great work.
I do agree that Sama is very Machiavellian. However, I don’t think Elon is a saint either I.e. control freak who is now coming back to sue after the project is successful. OpenAI’s bold approach allows us to have many of the tools e.g. vs Anthropic. We need both in check fighting against each other
Is it not a double standard that Google, Anthropic, and X AI are all for profit companies but OpenAI gets bullied because they want to do the same? I don’t get the hate train. If OpenAI hadn’t brought ChatGPT to the public as it did Google and Anthropic and others wouldn’t have followed suit. The LLM world is one of most democratized and equitable new technologies. Anyone can freely access these models and the paid versions are reasonable. And Sam Altman was the catalyst for all of it.
No it’s not a double standard, OpenAI used all the benefits of a non profit, it raised money as a nonprofit without giving any equity then attracted some of the brightest minds using a benevolent mission then forced those who made it happen out one by one, now OpenAI is less open than Google! Don’t you think that’s a betrayal to all those people who contributed money, expertise and time? These people worked hard to make AI safe and accessible not for Sam to make a buck! Don’t hate OpenAI though I’m still amazed by their achievements
@@Pourya_Kordi OpenAI would be dead and gone if it had not made the decision to be a for profit corporation. When OpenAI started it wasn't clear that success depended on 10's of billions of dollars of training. Without changing their business model they'd never be able to raise the money to keep going. They would be another first mover that got destroyed by better funded giants. Elon pushed them to do this years ago, he wanted to buy it. Now he's suing them to slow them down so he can catch up. Call out that hypocrisy. Google has it's own history of stealing, cheating, lying, and being a sociopathic giant. They aren't a victim here. And all these people that left OpenAI are off to make billions because of the halo effect of being at OpenAI. The fact is simple... AGI will be the biggest threshold moment in the history of mankind. The stakes are as high as they get. This battle is just starting.
According to Sam’s logic, you could create a non profit, gather money as a non profit, and cash out. Value-wise that is what has happened. It is even possible that Sam will lose the ongoing lawsuit, and I hope he does.
The story about how Sam Altman took control of OpenAI is an important story to tell. Personally I am happy that Sam Altman is in control. I think competition in the AI space is good.
He left out the part where when they tried to push altmen out most of the staff were planing on leaving with him with that context altmen didn't drive founding members away, they left bc there was an ai gold rush and they wanted to start their own operations
amazing video. We are expecting same level of videos in future.Wish you all the very best.❤🎉

Palpatine would be very proud of Sam

Great video! The story you tell rings true and makes sense of all the craziness that went on when Altman was temporarily fired.
FIRST. Great UA-cam page SIR.
Glad you enjoyed
Great video!
Glad you enjoyed it
Doesn't really matter it's done and most of those people have moved on
Elon took his ball and went home because he couldn't be quarterback.
1:26 Larry Page is smirking ….
