Most of the daily routines that is mentioned by the victorian Prison warden at Crumlin Road Gaol should be given to 21th century adult and young offenders, such as: 1. Inmates should be woken up early in the morning, for example, half 7 or 8 o' clock, to get washed and dressed. 2. Inmates should be made to tidy their cells each morning so the officers can inspect them to ensure that they are neat and tidy, or the inmate will be made to tidy up the cell and miss part of their breakfast. 3. School lessons should be made comsulsory and all inmates need to attend those sessions, especially those who had fallen behind with their GCSE grades. 4. Inmates should be made to work, especially those who had been struggling to find previous employment. Those who work should be given a starter wage, as well as employmabilty skills which can help them find employment outside of Prison. 5. Inmates should be made to wear a uniform, they would have to get changed once they have arrived at the prison or Young Offenders Institution (YOI), inmates who are on remand and/or waiting sentence needs to wear a different uniform. After completing their sentence, they will be given their original outside clothes back.
I agree. I believe drug dealers and other criminals etc should be punished hard like in Victorian times. Trouble today is they seem to know theyve got it easy and know the law wont punish them, they steal sell drugs and other stuff but just get slap on the wrist!
Kids did no break rock even back then,in Australia the worst offenders on the Prison Hulks used to quarry sandstone,Ned Kelly did 4years of this for horse stealing,but kids did not break rock...
